I was also impressed with their knowledge of all the relevant political issues. They are far better informed on what the issues are than most of my boomer aged friends.
The fact that they did not get overly emotional is important. They didn’t insult or try to talk over. To me, that indicates higher level brain function. The amygdala is quiet enough that the prefrontal cortex can get some oxygen rich blood. If that is the case, the possibility of changing a person’s mind exists.

I totally agree. I've never really paid attention to Vivek. Just heard he was running for President and that's basically all the research I did on him. The more and more I watch these debates and interactions with Charlie and young people, the more and more I'm impressed. He's very respectful, articulate and doesn't attack or belittle the people he's talking with. Vivek answers questions in the simplest possible way so people whether he is bright or stupid will understand which is a very very good quality/ability in a politician. Charlie is not a politician. Charlie's style involves lots of times answering questions with questions which will require the other person to actually think and arrive to the Charlie's answer. Charlie is assuming the other person actually wants to engage in a discussion and challenges the person asking to think honestly and logically which is not really effective with college students specially if they were steeped in brainwashing. In most of the videos, they just want to talk over Charlie, they are closed off in their minds, and do not really want to have a discussion or debate. So yeah, Charlie might be more effective in these college crowds if he spoon feeds them the answer.
I really enjoyed this interaction. These two young people are much more informed and eloquent than most people you see on these videos. So refreshing to see a respectful conversation.
It's a fine line between ignorance and low IQ. A high IQ person can determine through sheer logic that one set of policies is much worse than another. Debate can only do so much. I personally don't believe in anything I'm told if it seems too illogical. I'd have to be shown evidence at that point.

Actually they were more informed than most students I have seen. Their only issue is they were not correct in some of the things they were saying. I applaud the fact that they sought answers and were respectful. You could tell at the end they realized at least some of the things they were saying were inaccurate and their eyes were open to new facts.

I am not aware of another human being that has the ability to speak as eloquently and articulately as Vivek. A year ago I had never heard of him, today I'm honestly a bit upset that he isn't a potential next president. The man radiates intelligence and he's an unparalleled communicator.

This is why when I hire kids out of college I give them the lowest positions possible. Something like customer service. Most of them don't take it. The ones that do usually don't last a month. Meanwhile I hired a kid years ago right out of high school through one of our employees and he's running one of my departments. I watched him for about six months and saw the determination in everything he did. I offered to pay for half of our trade school costs. He took it and he's now a big part of our family. If you don't have to go to college don't. Save your time and money. My folks make more than most college grads and are far happier.

I totally agree. I've never really paid attention to Vivek. Just heard he was running for President and that's basically all the research I did on him. I'll say this for those two, at least they seem to know their reasons for believing what they do. Many leftists, you ask them to defend their position and they have no clue, because there's no one there to tell them what to think/say. Charlie is not a politician. Charlie's style involves lots of times answering questions with questions which will require the other person to actually think and arrive to the Charlie's answer. Charlie is assuming the other person actually wants to engage in a discussion and challenges the person asking to think honestly and logically which is not really effective with college students specially if they were steeped in brainwashing. In most of the videos, they just want to talk over Charlie, they are closed off in their minds, and do not really want to have a discussion or debate. So yeah, Charlie might be more effective in these college crowds if he spoon feeds them the answer.

Actually they were more informed than most students I have seen. Their only issue is they were not correct in some of the things they were saying. I applaud the fact that they sought answers and were respectful. You could tell at the end they realized at least some of the things they were saying were inaccurate and their eyes were open to new facts.

This is why when I hire kids out of college I give them the lowest positions possible. Something like customer service. Most of them don't take it. The ones that do usually don't last a month. Meanwhile I hired a kid years ago right out of high school through one of our employees and he's running one of my departments. I watched him for about six months and saw the determination in everything he did. I offered to pay for half of our trade school costs. He took it and he's now a big part of our family. If you don't have to go to college don't. Save your time and money. My folks make more than most college grads and are far happier.
