@@TheOneNashon So after we got her a friend, it took a little bit, she eventually warmed up to Caspian, but, it took some time, and he does play a little rough with her, she screeches up a storm sometimes though some of it is play I think. They do sleep together, and seem to get along, but she still breaks away for her own time and sometimes Caspian will annoy her in those moments. I think she's better for having him, but I also feel like she could have easily just remained alone if she had too. she's very bonded to me. Caspian almost increased that bond because now she'll follow me around the house and just sorta, pause and look up at me. it's funny. I'd advise you bring your girl in to the store to meet her possible friend, that's what we did. Just be ready because at first she'll feel a touch defensive of having another in her space. That's how Kira was, but as soon as they finally sleep in the same spot, the bond is started.
@@TheOneNashon i js got my girl a friend a few mth ago, She wasnt playing w her new friend til about a week and a half but they were fine eating and sleeping together before that and now theyre fully locked in and play so much. as long as theyre just dooking and theres no high pitched squealing they are just playing
@@michaeltolomei6623 niceeee my first one ever ( now gone) was so chunky but when i brought her home a friend who was only a few mths old and underweight they played so well
love mine, we got two now, and it took a little while for her to come around, but now she enjoys his company. still finds time for herself though, she's got her moments lol.
From someone who's owned ferrets since middle school the biggest thing and this is very important. The tiniest thing you see off vet ASP cause they go down hill very very quickly especially once they hit old age, Which is like 6-8 years for a ferret
Yeah I just learned this today. Had to put my 3 year old ferret to sleep. He developed some kind of bladder or UTI infection. Came here to watch ferret videos to help cope with the pain.
I didn't, it can be very tough to get that one right, typically though, they will pick a corner, and it will be a common spot, if you happen to get the right size box that your ferret prefers, they ll just naturally use it. In the case of Kira and Caspian, they don't much like the little corner box I got, so they tend to move it then go hahaha, mind of their own. Other Ferret owners may have some tricks up their sleeve, the only one I can think is finding the spot and going from there. sometimes you can take some of their droppings and move them to a box, and that can work, but it just depends on the ferret.
you know ferrets aren't semi aquatic right? But what they are is EXTREMELY social animals and really shouldn't live on their own, they're a lot happier with at least one other ferret
have I got a video for you, we just bought another ferret, and she.... prefers to be alone hahahha. the entire reason I got him was to see, and of course, she's being a brat about it all. hisses constantly at him, but is very slowly getting better about the idea. When I picked Kira out from her sisters, I could tell she was a bit different, she slept alone, was far less active, and I just had a feeling that for the time, she'd fit. at any rate I am now 700$ in between the two of them, at 350$ a pop, it's hard to have that kinda money ready to go to get started when you still need everything else. She's gone 4 months alone, and now has a friend, and is having to learn the ropes of sharing her space. Trust me when I say this, not all ferrets think alike, and these two are proof of this.
ah one other thing, the semi aquatic remark, webbing on the paws, and being related to otters as they are both mustelids. it was really more of a joke, but they are in the same family.
I owned a couple ferrets long time back when I was a kid, they used to really love water, so it's a hit miss thing, I know of a couple channels on here that have also mentioned this. Some ferrets love water some don't. I know our new boy seems a bit more interested in bath time so that's cool.
@@TheFallout102 very much so, she'll actually sleep in my arms sometimes, other times she nests near me if I am home and busy. And now we have Caspian, her buddy, they are very happy here and I do what I can for them.
We had ferrets when i was a kid. They were so loving and mischievous, its definitely left a soft spot in my heart for these little fellas
They always want to be a part of your day at some point, I really enjoy my two!
They are the best friends you can ever have, just love them, as bath time, no more than 2 or so times per year.
I have had mine for 3 years now. He was a rescue. His name is Rasputin.
Just got my first ferret 1 week ago i love him so much❤

Try bananas and grapes for a treat
Ferrets are obligate carnivores, they are not meant to digest anything that isn’t meat.
