I must say, if you spend a decent bit of money on a writing utensil, you will be more inclined to keep it safe. Out of all the metal pens and pencils I've bought, I've only lost one throughout the last year and a half
Since I started investing in fountain pens and nicer pencils I have yet to lose one. I also notice the black paint on rotrings wear out fast. I love the look but I hate discoloration. So I stick to the silver ones
I have one of these, totally agree about the wiggle in the tip. A little disconcerting, but not bad enough to warrant "gifting" to someone else. I love it.
Gotta have one! Made my living as an electrical engineer and always carried a mechanical pencil. I still carry one to keep score playing cards especially when I play tournament bridge.
I miss my old Scripto transparent mechanical pencils from the 80's... They came in many colors and where really cool... If you where a nerd like I was... (am?)
I have the silver version which to me is very slippery but it has been reliable so far it does break lead more often than I'd like but the action is lasting even with my fiddling about with it for a couple of years now. I have put electric tape on the knurled grip section. The tip does have some wiggle when out but not enough that I notice or feel it when I'm writing or extending the tip. Overall if it we're a bit more grippy this would be the perfect pencil. I just ordered the rotring 800 ball point in black today hopefully the different color is more offers more grip.
This takes me back in time. I used a Rotring beam compass and technical pens back in the day. Yes CAD software existed, but I was working for some really cheap bastards.
Would you recommend this one or the 600 for a high school student. I put my pencils in a small section of my backpack several times a day and they get tossed around in there a little. I’m just wondering if that will be enough for the tip to break on the 600. Thanks!
Hey love your reviews. You should look at the Faber Castell Grip Plus, it retracts and has a huge eraser!! Downside it has more girth! My knife collection has grown and it is all your fault and I now have Watch aspirations, Help!!
Had one and dropped it with the tip out. Snapped the thing off. My stupid fault amd no fault of the product so I will be getting a new one. Pricey yes but awesome and solid.
Hey Nick, I love your reviews but I would really love to see you review the 600, 800, and Rapid Pro Ballpoint Pens! I just found out about them and decided to purchase all 3. Some of my favorite pens right now! Absolutely fantastic as far as I’m concerned. I would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks
Just got one of these today and the wiggle in the tip really isn’t bad at all. Sure it’s there but unless your trying to pierce the paper by pushing so hard, it isn’t going to cause issue.
Odd thing about mechanical pencils is that durability is inversely proportional to price. Despite their deceptive weight, drafting pencils are built to sit in a drawer. If you want daily write-on-anything durable, get a 0.9mm pentel for around $5 and grind the sleeve to half its length.
Just buy one pental grapgear 1000 easy to hold can use it for hours and hours doesnt slip not heavy solid have a great machenzm cheaper than 50 dolar pen
tolga1cool Amazon is just dumb sometimes. I was buying something and sending it to a friend in Canada, and it was cheaper to buy it from amazon US and sending it vs buying it on Amazon CA and sending it. I also bought this same rotring 800 for $24.99 today, but a rotring 600 pen was like $30 so I dunno
This pencil sucks it breaks really easily, it broke on my first day of using it and I didn't even drop it pt anything and lots of other people seem to have had there's break in the same way. Would not recommend
So to get full details about this product you're reviewing I would be forced to watch a whole different video, doubling how much effort I would have to put into learning about what I came here to learn. It's your channel, but I wouldn't come back in the future if I knew half of your videos contain half the details.
You sound like the family guy Italian stereotypes.
He sounds like Kripke from Big Bang Theory
LMAO
He has the perfect voice for a mafia goon side character
As a high schooler, I must make this decision.
1)Buy it an maybe have it for an hour of school
2)Buy a whole 24 pack and maybe have those for a week
I must say, if you spend a decent bit of money on a writing utensil, you will be more inclined to keep it safe. Out of all the metal pens and pencils I've bought, I've only lost one throughout the last year and a half
Roger Rabbit I had my same kuru toga for 6 years from when I first got it in Japan haha
Since I started investing in fountain pens and nicer pencils I have yet to lose one. I also notice the black paint on rotrings wear out fast. I love the look but I hate discoloration. So I stick to the silver ones
Had my 800 plus for 3 years until it broke.
I'm a high school student too and I intend to use this for studying for my college exam. idk but it's a lot of money and I need to be sure first
I have one of these, totally agree about the wiggle in the tip. A little disconcerting, but not bad enough to warrant "gifting" to someone else. I love it.
So let me get this straight, this is an OTF Auto... Pencil?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Surely illegal in California
Whats an auto pencil
This voice is fantastic, not to mention the content. I could watch these videos all day.
Took me back to my youth when I used all sorts of Rotring stuff.
Gotta have one! Made my living as an electrical engineer and always carried a mechanical pencil. I still carry one to keep score playing cards especially when I play tournament bridge.
I bought it for 50 euros and i think it is really worth it. Love it, a "premium" gadget to own.
I miss my old Scripto transparent mechanical pencils from the 80's... They came in many colors and where really cool... If you where a nerd like I was... (am?)
that retractable feature, is the best improvement ever since 600 series.
Just got my hands on this for 33€. I hope that the turning mechanism won't get lose overtime. Great video btw
A tactical, high speed, low drag OTF pencil......SOLD
I’ve got the 800+.. same thing but with a stylus tip when the lead is retracted. I’ve had it for 3ish years.. maybe 4. No real complaints.

The tip wobble on it is a bit of a killer.
I think there are some videos online about how to fix that rather permanently.
I have not bought it yet could u please explain
^^^
i broke the rotring 600 0.5 tips 2 times.
this is amazing! great review
Woah, this pencil is beautiful!! I need one!
I have the 600, 0.5 mm model. The metal tip bent slightly and now it's trash. The 800 and 800+ solve that problem.
This takes me back in time. I used a Rotring beam compass and technical pens back in the day. Yes CAD software existed, but I was working for some really cheap bastards.
Just found this channel and I really love it :)
I thought I was watching video at 1.5 speed. It helped me a lot thanks ;)
Nick, have you had any chance to try the Lamy Safari? Compare it with the 2000 perhaps?
On a side note, amazon has a new wiha micro bit set with a wiha metal micro bit holder. Co-branded with xiaomi.
Ordered one today :)
What is the order number?
I am working through the Wera Advent calendar, a little bit or holder behind the window for each day. Great fun.
1 day shipping on amazon, just ordered

I kept the 600 in my pocket everyday for roughly 2 years and it was fine
Buy a cheap pen and use the pen cap to protect the 600
Hey love your reviews. You should look at the Faber Castell Grip Plus, it retracts and has a huge eraser!! Downside it has more girth! My knife collection has grown and it is all your fault and I now have Watch aspirations, Help!!
Damnnnn this is sick Mr. Nick!!!!
I used to have a rOtin when I was younger but my dumb ass decided to use it as a dart on dry wall and ended up clocking
Lol
What Pen/pencil aficionado doesn't have a pocket protector or case?
still rotring 600 could puncture your leather case
Had one and dropped it with the tip out. Snapped the thing off. My stupid fault amd no fault of the product so I will be getting a new one. Pricey yes but awesome and solid.
How about rapid pro?
I wish they did a 0.3

Very helpful. Thanks.

I still carry a 2mm Faber-Castell mechanical with B leads but it's because I like to draw
Your voice is similar to Bugs Bunny
Sounds like the wolf of wallstreet selling me this pen
How much did that cost?
Thanks for sharing!!
I bought it 75€. But it was the 0.5mm
Flavors of Lead.....new band name 2018.
600 is more expensive than the 800 rn.
Got the 800 10 dollars cheaper than 600.
I want one. I use mech pencil every day
How are they that cheap???? Here in Germany they cost 50€ on Amazon and ~65€ in the stores.
Even the 600 is close to 30€

Nice edc pencil reviews!!!

@@jacknemo8021 sorry look like a pen too me
You're right is pencil!!!
Doesn't look like it's the best quality pencil for it's price tbh
Nice looking, but a little pricey.
Dose this fucker come in 0.9 lead !?
This pencil sucks it breaks really easily, it broke on my first day of using it and I didn't even drop it pt anything and lots of other people seem to have had there's break in the same way. Would not recommend
