I have dkm clutch stage 2 now for about 50k kms and abuse of track daily use and autocross sessions, had only one issue with throw out bearing, rest its solid
Very nice! I saw another comment that mentioned the Fluidampr and recall its intention. I wonder how many with "crank-walk" suffered this from being too aggressive with their launches? Still, I think some with totally stock cars and sedate driving have seen crank-walk, too. I realize that has very little to do with your post. Your comment about track abuse made me think about it. HAHA! I can only be thankful that it hasn't happened to me. Thanks for visiting!
Did you ever consider a Ringer clutch? The biggest difference that I’ve read about with them is that they use a more tame pressure plate design for the fulcrum that doesn’t put as much stress on the crank flange. This is purely from reading forum posts on MK7 and Audi owner’s experiences. I’m leaning heavily in that direction for my Mk8 since there has already been at least one verified crank walk\thrust washer issue on a heavily modified (SB stage 3 clutch) Mk8 GTi. RSR was also considered, but since my plan is do stage 3 with a Powermax turbo I figured that SB or Ringer would be my best option. Keep up the videos, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed your content…..especially the reviews and Baun videos.
@@jeremymitchell8470 - I switched to SBC since they're well-known, reputable, and my favorite mechanic is a distributor. See my SBC video for details. It's right after this one. And thanks for your comments regarding my other content.
Scott, my RSR is toast after 4 years. Don’t know which one to go to next? I also thought I was good because advertised 480, Also do you know when the torque specs were revised?
Hey Skate! I don't know when they revised the torque values. The video right after this one is about the Stage 2 Endurance by South Bend Clutch. That is what I chose to replace this one. It's been great. Take Care!
@@skate69641 - The chatter is present. I tried to record it for the other video, but my microphone doesn't detect it from other noise. That could be a good indicator that it's not bad at all; but it is noticeable. I decided against the Stage 3 because it is reported to be substantially stiffer and perhaps even more clatter. Personally, I think the Stage 2 Endurance feels a hair lighter than the RSR. The engagement point is a little higher, more like stock. If you're near Yorktown, VA, I'd be happy to meet and show it to you. Otherwise, all I can say is that I think you'll be pleased, other than buying SECOND clutch upgrade. That was the hardest pill to swallow for me. HAHA!
Woohoo Scott is back. Loving all this content my friend. ❤❤
Glad you enjoy it! Thanks for visiting, Clint!

Thank you for the reply Scott! Why didn’t you go with stage 3 daily, and hows the chatter?
