+Erlend Henriksen Ikr, his looks like megaton without the bomb, mine looks like megaton after the bomb went off. I wish i was able to build settlements like that ;[
Bethesda need to sort out there physics engine so we can place stuff on shelves and counters. I made a really detailed bar with loads of drinks, snacks, newspaper, cigarette in an ashtray... And then after a few saves I logged in and it was scattered all over the floor -_- =EDIT= +Random Gameplay has pointed out to me that there is a mod called OCDecorator that fixes a lot of the problems with things fallout off tables.
Rocky Rock Is that what causes it? Because all this stuff was on top of a counter and there weren't any chairs near enough to clip npc's through it or anything.
I thought this was great. You make it seem like the people actually live there. It's believable. Many of my settlements I put together lazily. I put all of the beds inside one giant room, and simply cater to my needs with little thought into the settlers. You have inspired me, though! This is great!
Doing that while working with the way things snap and then randomly do and don't clip must have been an absolute bloody nightmare. You have the patience of a saint.
There are alot of people who emerse themselves into Fallout 4. Even though i havent built my settlements in this fashion. i must say it really does look like a wasteland settlement with how its built and very much impressive. I may take the time to do something similar. Thanks for the share!
+LastStandGamers I think its just amazing i build a huge village myself in the city where you lived before the war. The village is very skyrimish if that is a wird especially at night. Btw why was there no 300k special?
+LastStandGamers In reality, the will sometimes spawn inside the base. I did a similar base to yours, blocked most entrances except the front one, and woke up to 5 or 6 supermutants chilling in the courtyard.
Aw man, you just made me think of an awesome place. A massive area that's segmented, like a roman encampment, with the castle being the final area where the beacons and all the expensive gear and equipment
inspired now. I spent last night thinking what can I do with settlements not quite getting the concept. now after watching this video I think I can come up with a few designs of my own. Thank you for uploading this video.
Love the base man, but what is with that awesome looking protectron next to the guy in power armor in your video? I kept seeing you walk past him several times throughout and was dying of curiosity.
+Drew Smith His name is Buddy. He tells jokes and brews beer. You can find him locked up in a cellar somewhere I forgot, he even has a little side quest of his own where you can decide to either take him back to his owner or keep him for yourself, but its glitchy and stays on your objectives (at least it did for me).
This is great. My castle I've built up to be a HQ for the Minutemen (as it is), so I rebuilt the walls and have put up defenses at the appropriate spots. I put a little boardwalk trading area within the grounds for those off duty, or for travelers, etc. I've got a massive undercover seating area with some picnic tables so that people have a place to eat their meals. All the sleeping areas are within the actual castle walls and set up semi-military style - a bed and a little storage space at the foot of the bed. I'm pretty happy with how its turned out, but it's far from as creative as this! I'd get more decorative with items, except like you said, they disappear...
Awesome settlement! Currently building on the Castle too. BTW in Hangman's Alley close to the basketball hoop you can find a basketball for you basketball field ;)
Really fun way to make your place look even better and spend even more time drop random stuff from inventory and place them around on tables ect. Makes for a very lively town.
Ville Tampio No no, so there is a exploit, where if you add a bunch of weapons to the workbench, remove them, drop them all on the ground, and then in build mode place them back in the workbench, the game "thinks" your removing items and subtracts from the build limit. There is no console command that ignores the limit sadly
CursetheVandal Yeah but I don't think he's the type of guy to spend 15 minutes dropping guns on the ground to circumvent a build limit. He's more the simple mod kinda guy
Finally someone else who likes to make individual rooms for their settlers instead of just throwing all the beds in a single barracks-style building. \o/
For the bar you can actually go into the store tab and place a bar in there. The npcs in you settlement will gather there at night after they are done working for the day. Adds a little more immersion to the game.
You can also use the third wooden floor (essentially a concrete block) as a wall, blends nicely with the castle's wall and looks like it's been fully repaired :)
fucking wow. I've spent many hours building my castle, and I was really proud of it, and now I see this, and comparatively, my castle looks like a dump. your base is magnificent, and I am jealous as fuck. you gave me some neat ideas.
I've noticed the disappearing books before. I think they're still in the inventory, they just go invisible because Bethesda. I tend to get them to appear by manipulating the inventory to refresh the display.
Haha, the idea of you being an estate agent cracked me up. ''...bedroom and a lovely sea overlook, andanothermortarpitdon'tmindthatmovingonswiftlyyessir...''
Really creative man great vid, im enjoying fallout 4 alot im on ps4 version and its running great and i play the game alot and use the building system alot too. i would add more light to yours was pretty damn dark, setters will be walking into each other and unable to marvel at the cat pictures...
This makes me genuinely sad. I thought my Castle was kind of ok, but this insanely beautiful masterpiece blows mine waaaaaayyyyyyy out of the water. Im so jealous :(
For me I made the castle more military style, like there's one big barracks for the soldiers and a few shacks in the court yard, then I set up a little out door area called "the alley" that has a few shops and a bar
The Castle is the best location for a settlement, looking good with plenty of room and quarters plus its a fortress already! Just need to patch it up, make it comfy and here you go!
It looks good, like a small Megaton. My Castle is more fortress than shanty town, it can't house that many people in style but it can fight off most attacks without me.
I love how there's is different looking shacks hanging around making the settlement look a lot bigger and like a pre-made settlement you'd see from Bethesda. You should just light it up a bit more tho
Certainly inspired me, all i did was place a ludicrous amount of crops and Sentries, soooo many Sentries. had and army of ghouls attack me the other day, and the lines of lasers, bullets, and rockets was sooo satisfying.
Meanwhile, all my settlements just have rooms with as many beds as possible and no shiny luxury things. (Except for 1 settlement.) And I wonder why my settlers just won't be 100% happy.
Haha that seems to be the case with my settlements too, in a small place like taffington boathouse with 17 settlers you gotta jam beds wherever you can.
My castle which has all settlers in legendary power armor, with legendary heavy combat armor, meaning 180dmg and 180energy resistance, and around 60 rad resist, yet it's at 67% happiness, and it is amazing, it's big, and is the equivalent to a mansion.. Meanwhile sanctuary has 100 people, 50 beds, and is the base equivalent to a concentration camp and has 82% happiness :/
Wow I would really like to see more of these, I can barely believe that is the "Castle" until you go up on the walls and inside. Wonder what you can do with somewhere really flat like the Drive In movie theater south east of the Red Rocket Garage.
Damn your looks good. Looks like megaton but the atombomb in the midle is the now the radio freedom tower.
+Erlend Henriksen Ikr, his looks like megaton without the bomb, mine looks like megaton after the bomb went off. I wish i was able to build settlements like that ;[
+deathslide8 Mine probably looks worse. I just have two buildings near the radio and turrets / crops on the walls. Function over form I guess...
Well i think you said "ain't nobody got time for that"
Happend to me too, I just used console commands to lock the doors when I leave so that the settlers cant knock over everything
Rocky Rock Is that what causes it? Because all this stuff was on top of a counter and there weren't any chairs near enough to clip npc's through it or anything.
+TakeTo TheShadows Maybe your settlers are wacky waving inflatable armed flailing tube-men... It's more likely the physics engine though.
TakeTo TheShadows
no i just got on and all my shit was on the floor again
getting that megaton feel
10/10
yeah I was thinking that too
Black Santa there is a mod for that
And here I thought that my 2 story house in Sanctuary was a nice achievement.
So glad to see someone build a proper settlement in this game. I've seen so many just box towers - good job making it unique and well lived in!
I thought this was great. You make it seem like the people actually live there. It's believable. Many of my settlements I put together lazily. I put all of the beds inside one giant room, and simply cater to my needs with little thought into the settlers. You have inspired me, though! This is great!
This is the most elaborate and realistically founded settlement I have ever seen! Seriously. Great use of items and space at the castle. Amazing.
This is so awesome, I can really feel like this would be an actual place you would find in Fallout!
30/10
Doing that while working with the way things snap and then randomly do and don't clip must have been an absolute bloody nightmare. You have the patience of a saint.
It reminds me off megaton, with the almost empty middle and stacked houses around it.
I've watched countless videos on settlements being built in fallout 4. BY FAR this is my favorite. it looks great!
There are alot of people who emerse themselves into Fallout 4. Even though i havent built my settlements in this fashion. i must say it really does look like a wasteland settlement with how its built and very much impressive. I may take the time to do something similar. Thanks for the share!
Not kidding my entrance looks almost exactly like yours, instead of spotlights I use heavy turrets
+Dawid Sopata The best way of defending it if you ask me funnel them all in to one point.
+LastStandGamers Yes... Bottleneck the enemy soldiers.
+The Phoenix I did the same thing at first but im so far in the game now all my settlements are huge.
Favorite build so far, exactly what I needed for inspiration! Can't wait to see what your future builds look like
Aw man, you just made me think of an awesome place.
I love your imagination and creativity! Awesome build thanks so much for sharing!
Love the base man, but what is with that awesome looking protectron next to the guy in power armor in your video? I kept seeing you walk past him several times throughout and was dying of curiosity.
+Drew Smith Can't give to many spoilers but that's buddy he brews beer.
+LastStandGamers if you dont mind what kind of armour is that? combat armour? level?
+gohog3 its heavy combat armor a high lvl version of combat armor found on gunners commanders mostly
+gohog3 He has a heavy combat armor chestpeice and then sturdy for the arms, and a normal combat armor for the right leg
I seen alot of these settlement videos, and this is by far the best one yet, freekin awsome man
I used to just watch your videos for the space engineers, which I still do. But now I watch any video you put out because I like your voice.
Awesome settlement! Currently building on the Castle too. BTW in Hangman's Alley close to the basketball hoop you can find a basketball for you basketball field ;)
the basketball court is genius.
Looks amazing!
Really fun way to make your place look even better and spend even more time drop random stuff from inventory and place them around on tables ect. Makes for a very lively town.
Impressive base! It reminds of like a miniature Diamond City.
Thats a lot of buildings o.o did you use that mod that removes the build limit?
Theres a trick in game to get ride of build limit u dont need a mod but a mods probably easier to do for it
+CursetheVandal It's in the console thing, right? I know you can change FoV there atleast.
Ville Tampio
No no, so there is a exploit, where if you add a bunch of weapons to the workbench, remove them, drop them all on the ground, and then in build mode place them back in the workbench, the game "thinks" your removing items and subtracts from the build limit. There is no console command that ignores the limit sadly
+XDarkFableX yes
CursetheVandal
Yeah but I don't think he's the type of guy to spend 15 minutes dropping guns on the ground to circumvent a build limit. He's more the simple mod kinda guy
and like a true estate agent you quickly gloss over the fact a whacking great mortar position is outside the "luxury" apartments :P
I'm going to level my castle and start all over now, that's such good use of space! I love it!
Finally someone else who likes to make individual rooms for their settlers instead of just throwing all the beds in a single barracks-style building. \o/
That is incredible man very well done. There are basketballs all over but there is a park south of Diamond City that I know has 2 balls laying around.
Who needs diamond city anyway?
Defo inspired my settlements abit more, mine currently is just a bare minimum set up, will be jazzing it up abit more after seeing yours!
For the bar you can actually go into the store tab and place a bar in there. The npcs in you settlement will gather there at night after they are done working for the day. Adds a little more immersion to the game.
Very cool castle build. I'm really addicted to settlement building.
Short video for SO MUCH WORK, great job I loved it
Very Well Done Bro, I'm quite inspired by your build here at the Castle.
Its amazing how this game lets you create settlments that look like they where in the game like this all along o_o
You can also use the third wooden floor (essentially a concrete block) as a wall, blends nicely with the castle's wall and looks like it's been fully repaired :)
Thanks general, this will do nicely. Now we are a force to be reckoned with.
looks really cool it looks like a real settlement that if settlements that big were in the game already
Lets face it, you've just made this into a castle again... this is awesome!
Bro, this is the best settlement I have seen. AWESOME!
fucking wow.
Finally a build that looks natural! Great job
imo this is the coolest settlement i have seen.. gonna try to build something similar
Nice fort dude, your building style is my favorite
Castle looks like a mini Diamond City from what the built and is awesome. nice work man.
* you built
Haha, the idea of you being an estate agent cracked me up. ''...bedroom and a lovely sea overlook, andanothermortarpitdon'tmindthatmovingonswiftlyyessir...''
if you careful you can use the concrete floor blocks to repair the walls pretty effectively and it looks great!
Awesome base :D would love to see what youve done with the other ones!
Best Castle Settlement I have seen :)
This totally just changed the way i look at these settlements. Most are building it like a military base but this is like an actual city
Really creative man great vid, im enjoying fallout 4 alot im on ps4 version and its running great and i play the game alot and use the building system alot too. i would add more light to yours was pretty damn dark, setters will be walking into each other and unable to marvel at the cat pictures...
I built a settlement that was just a house for me. Put cat pictures everywhere.
This makes me genuinely sad. I thought my Castle was kind of ok, but this insanely beautiful masterpiece blows mine waaaaaayyyyyyy out of the water. Im so jealous :(
great base arron. my room would definetly be the cat room if I ever managed to live there/capture your base
And i thught my Starlight Drivein Tradeing Capital was grand but your base? Wow thats amazingly amazing
If you go to spectacle island in the south east of the map, you can get that entire island as a base. Its huge
Dude, you're insane. I freaking love this.
...Oh my god. This is why I love you. It's like a miniature Diamond City. :D
For me I made the castle more military style, like there's one big barracks for the soldiers and a few shacks in the court yard, then I set up a little out door area called "the alley" that has a few shops and a bar
How close were you to reaching the maximum capacity? And what did you want to build that you couldn't or things you had to sacrifice?
You can turn off the build limit #PCMasterRace
PC only?
yup
Dang
+Toe jam Limit was on but you can make it bigger by dropping scrap in the settlement and deleting it.
You should build different types of settlements and show em off, That's something I would watch
This settlement looks like the devs made it! Well done.
Please show more of your villages. They are beautiful !!! None of my villages looks so great.
played the game 5 hours .. 1h30 for character creation ... 4h30 just fortifyiing sanctuary before i start the game
that's six hours
ho .. yeah ... played more than i thought
lmfao playing it off so well.
I did the same with Starlight Drive in 0.0
How'd u get the resources for sanctuary
The Castle is the best location for a settlement, looking good with plenty of room and quarters plus its a fortress already! Just need to patch it up, make it comfy and here you go!
My favorite feature of Fallout 4.
I Love it, It could have some work but nothings perfect I just love this it is really cool wishmi was as creative as you
looks amazing man. probs to your creativity
do more fallout and maybe top 5 bases and stuff that would be awesome
also loved the vid love the channel keep doing what your doing
I like the basketball court, that's a really nice idea.
That's the best settlement I think I've ever seen
It looks good, like a small Megaton. My Castle is more fortress than shanty town, it can't house that many people in style but it can fight off most attacks without me.

Certainly inspired me, all i did was place a ludicrous amount of crops and Sentries, soooo many Sentries. had and army of ghouls attack me the other day, and the lines of lasers, bullets, and rockets was sooo satisfying.
Jesus, you might actually break a sweat next time, great job!
Meanwhile, all my settlements just have rooms with as many beds as possible and no shiny luxury things. (Except for 1 settlement.)
And I wonder why my settlers just won't be 100% happy.
Haha that seems to be the case with my settlements too, in a small place like taffington boathouse with 17 settlers you gotta jam beds wherever you can.
That's bunker hill for me XD
My castle which has all settlers in legendary power armor, with legendary heavy combat armor, meaning 180dmg and 180energy resistance, and around 60 rad resist, yet it's at 67% happiness, and it is amazing, it's big, and is the equivalent to a mansion.. Meanwhile sanctuary has 100 people, 50 beds, and is the base equivalent to a concentration camp and has 82% happiness :/
There are two things that our settlements have in common: the entrance is almost the exact same and the minutemen are wearing army fatigues.
thx man! Love the base, youre my inspiration for my own castle base!
I love that settlement great job!👍
Missile turrets are op btw, takes out most intruders with a single hit. and use the heavy machine gun turrets as a secondary defense.
you can put lights on the cords, it will look sick in your base
Amazing beautiful settlement
Yours looks SOOOOOO much better than mine props man
Awsome job on the castle
this is amazing mate the castle is my next area to make look great and imersive i hope i can make something like this
I feel like I physically NEED this game in my life
I made a settlement based off of this one, thank you for the inspiration
Amazing! You inspired me to make my castle even better! i subbed :)
...seeing some inspiration from Megaton in fallout 3... cool.
I really love the base. I hope you don't mind me trying to atempt to build it.
there is a basket ball in the settlement near diamond city I think it was north of it. it's a bandit lair in an alley way
Wow I would really like to see more of these, I can barely believe that is the "Castle" until you go up on the walls and inside.
Wonder what you can do with somewhere really flat like the Drive In movie theater south east of the Red Rocket Garage.
the drive in is easily my fav bc you have a big area to build whatever coming in at second is spectacle island 😝
the way you can make them stay behind the counter is make the counter in front of a defense post and make the counter taller.. works for me
Awesome base, thanks for posting
I wish there was a way to download custom settlements on nexus mod manager.
I'd pick this up in a heartbeat.
There is also an island you can build on too, haven't tried it yet but i was thinking about it... Currently just using sanctuary's main house
very nice, try manualy adding liquer bottles on the bar counter, some ashtrays and cigarettes to dress it up some more :D
