    Short, properly details and perfectly shot. This is where I'll go for how to videos in the future.

    I like videos that are short & to the point but also exacting with pro tips & no mistakes that take up more film/watch time. You guys have done it the right way. Thank you.

    Great job assembling the parts in front of the camera, and no fluff content.

    This is how you do a how-to video. Tight editing and storytelling.

    Nice video, thanks on the heads up about shimming the gate upwards before install 😎 My favorite Craftsman drill. Lightweight, small battery charges fast, and gets the job done. Too bad they dont manufacture them anymore.

    I can't see how that kit won't cause the gate to twist. It's pulling from the outside of the frame towards the middle which would make it twist.

  • @georgeleong1572
    @georgeleong1572 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I know after a few months the gate will warp with the 2 cabled corners pulling towards each other. Here is a thought. Have you tried installing another set of cables on the other side and mount the cables on the same 2 corners?

  • @be5376

    Hi does anyone know a covering we could put over the wire?

  • @rufia75
    @rufia75 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Looks like it's time to go to my local hardware store and buy these parts to do this. Couldn't find this everbuilt kit online at least, here in Canada, even on amazon. Found a different brand. Anyways, $10-15 hardware cost + half an hour estimated work is way better than the $350 quote I just got for a new gate.

    • @VinceRocca
      @VinceRocca  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some kits are screwed in from the bottom requiring you to remove the gate. This kit and other similar kits have screw holes in the face. I suppose you could redrill a bottom kit. Either way cheers to saving $340.

  • @weiserboy
    @weiserboy 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nice work. Is there a reason why you placed the turnbuckle at the top vs the center of the gate?

    • @VinceRocca
      @VinceRocca  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      In the center, I would have had to make 2 short cables. Or 1 long loop cable that would add resistance when it pulled through the corner brackets. So putting the turnbuckle at the to was just easier. Plus if it needs to be tightened in the future I don’t have to bend over:) Please subscribe so I can get to 100k subs.

    Hi there, very useful video. My problem is not too much on the sag but the upper side of the gate is rubbing the post...do you think this will correct the [problem as well.

    • @VinceRocca
      @VinceRocca  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Its hard to say for sure, but when they sag the upper part can fall and rub. So it might, assuming that the gate wasn’t always rubbing.

    • @user-ed7lr6wb1h
      @user-ed7lr6wb1h 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, Thanks for replying back. Yes it was not rubbing before. I checked it today and the bottom is sagging, so I will try your method and hopefully get it straight. Thanks again!@@VinceRocca

    Can you use this on a vinyl gate?

    • @VinceRocca
      @VinceRocca  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could make it work. You’d probably need different screws that’s go all the way through, but in principle it would work. Glad I could help. You can help me by subscribing so I can get to 100k subscribers.

    Hey Vince. We have that problem. Really useful. Thanks for another interesting video. Where can he get that kit? Home Depot? Lowe's? Oh, btw, thanks for suggesting the other videos. They are entertaining. Until next time, take care. God bless.

    • @VinceRocca
      @VinceRocca  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I usually shop at lowes, but their kit required me to remove the gate from the hinges, so this kit was picked up at home depot, but this one looks the same Ultra Hardware 35944 Gate Kit, Stainless Steel www.amazon.com/dp/B004MYGJYG/?tag=povert0f20-20

      @JorgeElvir 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I bought mine at home depot as well. In case anyone else is in the look.

  • @angelawhite5956
    @angelawhite5956 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Awesome! Same gate kit I just picked up. Wait, the top is still just attached to the gate and not the post the gate is attached to. And I guess in this scenario you can't cuz the brace post is shorter than the gate. I'm still confused, how does stretching a cable across a gate stop it from sagging. I feel like it should be attached to the post the gate is attached to

    Or just add a wheel on bottom?

    • @VinceRocca
      @VinceRocca  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The wheel can work well too.

    • @jeff4son
      @jeff4son 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      But then you have a wheel bumping along your brick patio leaving marks and being loud. This is a much better solution.

    • @VinceRocca
      @VinceRocca  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      In my case that is definitely true. But some could use a wheel instead. I’m not sure that the cost of a wheel is cheeper than this tho. Still, glad I could help. You can help me by subscribing so I can get to 100k subscribers.
