      Hi, Sorry, I've no idea regarding what backing material they use. Maybe drop them a quick message? Their contact page is here: www.platesforcars.co.uk/contact_us.html Thanks,

    I always get these pressed plates whenever I get a new car. I think they look great. I also like the brand names on the holder on German cars. My previous car was an Audi A4 Avant, it was straight forward putting the plates on that. I now have a Mercedes C Class. The front has a bit of a "V", I just wondered how much flexibility is in the plate and the surround. I should probably be asking someone who fitted them to a Merc.🤔

      Hi, as it happens, we have a C class too but I haven't fitted the plate holders to it. It's my wife's car and she just likes normal plates on it. However, I think the holder could be made to fit and follow the "V" shape but you would probably need to drill a couple of extra holes either side of the "V" and add securing screws there to make it conform to the shape. Depends on how you feel about drilling extra holes. Following that, metal plates are very flexible, so I'm sure you'll have no problem putting a small bend into them in the middle.

    Hi there. Have you any video of how to take out the number plates from the plate cover/frame? Also how to open up the bottom of the cover?

    • @ReviveMyRide
      @ReviveMyRide  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, at the bottom of most of these types of plate holders, there is a strip that you click into place with push studs. I think you could get a trim tool (ideally) or a flat bladed screwdriver between the strip and the backer at the bottom and lever it, working your way along to unclick each of the push studs. Hope that helps!

    hi my back plate no screws holding on with tape or something whats the best way getting it of without damage

    • @ReviveMyRide
      @ReviveMyRide  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi @johnterry6594 I would try heating up the backing plate with a hair dryer for a good 5-10 mins, this will soften the adhesive (this is much better than a hot air gun, which can get too hot if you aren't careful and damage the paint). Then us a plastic lever of some kind (trim removal tools are good for this) and see if you can peel it off of the bumper. Hope that helps! Thanks, Phil

    hey I've got same holders installed but how do I remove the bottom lock? I cannot change my plates again once I've locked it in. any advice?

    • @ReviveMyRide
      @ReviveMyRide  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, if you’ve got the same type as the ones in video, then the bottom lock has three or four press stud fittings across its length and then tucks behind the trim on the left and the right. My device would be to start in the middle of the bottom lock and lever it away using a trim tool until you can get your fingers behind it. Hope that helps! Thanks, Phil

      @@ReviveMyRide thank you I was trying to push from behind hurting my finger tips I'll give that a go they look pretty locked in and I don't want to snap the bottom frame

    • @ReviveMyRide
      @ReviveMyRide  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Shaolinblo Yes, breaking it is the risk. If you can figure out / feel where the central press stud is and lever directly where it is, between the plate (use masking tape on the plate if it is a metal one) and the bottom frame you might be able to do it. Good Luck! 🍀

    In the north we use metal frame

      😂 Everyone further up than the Midlands thinks that they are in the North in the UK! I liked this plastic one because of the gel / M logo printing, although I just checked and yes, there are some nice chrome and stainless steel number plate surrounds out there! 👍
