Let's say you make videos of 20 min duration. Everything is good. If you start making highlight videos or whatever (let's say they fit your channel and audience and it's the same thing the 20 min videos, for this exercise lets believe everything is the same except the duration) that have 1~2 min duration, will it benefit or hurt the channel? #3 - Does the Algorithm (or youtube system) consider channel overall statistics (total watch time for the channel, or total percentual video views) when recommending new videos? - Let's say i make minecraft videos, then out of a sudden i make a small indie game video that i like and want to show my audience. They are used to minecraft, so probably won't receive the video well. The video will have less views / interations. Then i publish a third video, focused again on minecraft (same subject as video 1 of this example). Will youtube system consider my last video results to determine the amount of subscribers that will receive / get notification? In this case, since the second video went really bad, will it affect the third video, making it be recommended / have notification sent / etc to less / fewer people? And if the second video went WAY BETTEr than the first, would the system consider that to recommend the third video to more people? Or is this a myth? #4 - If i may, there's always been a question/myth that i have never received a proper answer and i've been asking everybody i could in the last 2 years. Here it goes: What matters more for TH-cam recommendation: the total watch time (in minutes) or the total percentual watch time of a video? Let me give an example to see what im trying to understand here: We have the same metadata in 2 different videos, same title, same description, same tags, they are both posted at same time on the same channel. Everything in them is equal, except their duration. Video A has 30 minutes, while video B has 5 minutes. People watch an average of 6 minutes of Video A, with a total of 20% of its lenght. And they watch an average of 5 minutes of Video B, wich would be 100% of its lenght. They both have the same amount of views, likes and comments (people reacted the same on both, for the purpose of this example, only variable here is minutes watched and percentage). Video A has an average of 6 minutes watched and an average of 20% of it watched Video B has an average of 5 minutes watched and an average of 100% of it watched Wich one would be better for TH-cam Recommendation? A or B? Does youtube recommends more video A based on the fact that in comparison, it keeps people watching on average 1 minute more than video B, or would it recommend more video B, because on average, it keeps people watching it from start till the end, even though it has an average of 1 minute less than video A? Would be nice to have that on the next MythBusting and get a proper answer from TH-cam themselves (btw, i asked that to different people from TH-cam help and got different answers everytime, haha) :D Kind regards and keep up the great work!
That was the case for me as well. Recently i had good results after keeping livestreams on the channel as VOD. Like, they would receive 80% of the traffic AFTER coming to the channel as a video. HOWEVER, after a week doing livestreams daily, the channel feedback dropped HUGELY. Not sure if it was because of that - and if it is, TH-cam REALLY needs to do something about it because makes no sense to promote and ask us to livestream more and have them hurting our channel like that. I went back 2 days ago to check, the retention was terrible (considering that the livestreams were for 1h and VOD were for 1h and livestream retention tends to be super low due to people coming and leaving all the time) and i privated every single one to see if this could make my channel normal again. Nothing to report so far. The feedback has been really horrible since then, this happened 14 days ago and my channel now is struggling to reach 10k views on videos, wich is super weird considering that i'd take those views in 2 hours 14 days ago. Coincidently, this happened 2 days prior the implementation of the video editor on Studio Beta. But im not sure how these new features affect the recommendation system or TH-cam as a whole. Would be great to see them busting these stuff in the next episode of mythbusters
I'm in the same group with Travis and we've been testing this for the past month to month and a half now. Feel free to hit us up on Twitter. it's easy to find us based on our channel names, but I'd love to chat more and share the data and help each other out! We have some pretty hard to argue with data showing the changes.
Yes, I'd really like to know the answer to #1 as well. I tried weekly livestreams a while back, but it seemed to hurt my channel. The only reason for this that I can think of is that before I had an average 70% retention rate for my videos (almost all of which were less than 5 min) whereas after livestreaming that average obviously went down even though I had more minutes viewed.
TH-cam is trying to diminish "custom thumbnail" practice and you're asking for more thumbnail options? I won't be surprised if youtube cancels "custom thumbnail" feature for cretors who are often reported for click-bait and such.
@@SideNote233 diminish custom thumbnails? I need a reference for this. They've said a lot that the thumbnail and title are super important to getting views.
Someone pointed to me that instead of transcribing my entire video from scratch, TH-cam uses Speech-to-Text voice recognition to come up with some captions, at least for English videos. It is easier to modify those captions and same the changes than it is to type them up from scratch. But the biggest reason to do this is to avoid situations where the voice recognition completely fails to get the words right or thinks you said swear words when you really didn't.
Do you use your speech recognition auto generated subtitles to understand the content of each video to help in search and discovery? Why not allow a "search within the video" to skip forward in a video automatically to when a specific search word or approximate sentence query is said?
I have been trying to add captions as much as possible. It does certainly take time, but there are a few nice benefits. One is on mobile I personally have my phone silenced most of the time so when a video on TH-cam has captions it is totally watchable when the phone is silent. In that case I want people that do what I do to find my videos helpful to them. The second is of course helping hearing impaired. Third would be like with what Todd was saying were clean captions should make for better auto-translations (reaching a larger audience). Edit: I'm really not fond of all caps or even the mixture of all caps words in titles. Though I hate to say it's done by channels doing well and whether people truly like it or not there appears to be some benefit. I don't do it... but it feels like not doing it is sometimes disadvantageous (go look at a site like Ebay where people do similar things)
Ive heard that when you have an evergreen video continually performing really well....but then you go in and update the description box with something and hit ‘Save’...it can reset the analytics on the video and views can immediately tank. Thoughts?
It made me click on your comment and search on hashtags. I never use them, but upon searching mine name, it came up with all my channel and videos. Hmm.
With "User behavior" does moderating comments hurt us? For example I make sure my comments don't get toxic and I have a huge filter list so a lot of my comments will show pending approval. Does that hurt me? Would it be better for the algorithm to just let everyone post ever single thing on the video for more engagement? I have always wonder if I am my own worst enemy on this. Does a deleted comment or pending approval comment still count as a comment itself?
Can you please explain what should be looked at when a channel is being demonetized for "duplication" ? I deleted half of my channel's videos and still don't have a clue on what to do lol
Do the ads shown on a video sometimes get matched by keywords in the title and upload category and words detected in the video if the advertiser didn't manually target your channel because of its content? In other words would a video about pool heaters get ads about pool heaters automatically without a pool heater company going out of their way to target it specifically?
Very helpful video ... been wondering about the all caps titles for a while now. Almost tried it on one of our videos but it didn't feel right so glad we decided against it. Had a couple of questions 1. Is longevity of a video a major factor in discovery? The reason I ask is because I see some of our older videos getting more traction now 9 months or so in but recent videos which in my opinion we've edited better, have better thumbnails, better titles and more appealing content (based on what we've seen our competitors have up that are doing well) are slow and steady like our earlier videos were when we first put them out. Does YT push into discovery videos which have a certain age like 6 months or something? 2. Does YT's algo cap the amount of videos on a channel that it pushes into discovery on a bigger scale at a given time? For example we usually see on our channel that 3-4 videos get pushed into discovery and recommended videos more at one point and when one slows down it seems the algo picks another one to push. Is this the case? Is there anything we can do to ensure more than 3-4 videos get proper discovery at any point in time (given that more to 3-4 on the channel are good content of course). 3. Does it matter if you post videos from other countries? Would those videos be shown to international audiences if posted from a country other than channel origin? Would really appreciate hearing back about these. Thanks!
on the CAPS.... All you have said is SOME viewers are put off by all caps. So it is a personal preference of the viewer. I personally think all caps stand out among many vids of the same category. All caps is not as I understand, an algorithm-driven thing. So folks experiment on a few. Write down the number of views on a fairly consistent video on your channel then change the title to caps and SEE what happens HAPPY YOUTUBING FOLKS ooopsss sorry caps lock was on.
Caps isn't "shouting" as incorrectly stated in the video (must have been a best guess based on instinct). It is actually a psychological issue that the brain takes longer to process words in caps than in normal case.
I AGREE, USING ALL CAPS ISNT SHOUTING AT ALL, ITS WHEN YOU WRITE IN LOWER CASE THEN USE ONLY SOME WORDS WITH ALL CAPS. BUT I SUPPOSE ITS A MATTER OF OPINION. AND I FIND IT MUCH EASIER TO READ ALL CAPS WHEN I TYPE OUT EMAILS TO FRIENDS. SOME OF MY FRIENDS USE ALL CAPS TOO WHEN THEY WRITE TO ME. ITS QUITE COMMON TO SEE AN ELDERLY PERSON USING ALL CAPS. I GET BLURRED VISION A LOT TOO WHICH IS ANNOYING AND ALL CAPS HELPS ME TO SEE BETTER.
QnA: Does the algorithm distinguished between a ordinary, first-time view and a view where someone is responding to a heart, or a comment notification? In other words, does an active back and forth negatively affect a video's "percent watch time," or is it smart enough to differentiate between different types of views?
Cool. I had started using all caps all the time. I'm working on a video now about my outdoor shelter and will just use a regular capitalized sentence this time :) Thanks for the tips!
Two myth questions: #1 If I choose one of my normal videos to be featured on my channel page (I forget what specifically that's called) for new viewers to see (automatically), will that hurt that video's discoverability (since the views will likely have low watch times)? Would it be better to not even have a featured video? Obviously, it would be better to make a trailer video promoting your channel, but that's not always possible. And then would that trailer video's performance somehow hurt your channel (since it probably would only get watched by people viewing your channel page)? #2 This one isn't about discoverability exactly. Often I watch youtube videos while not logged in (on a different device, or different browser sometimes). But I feel like commenting, so I go to another device/browser, log in, go to the video, but pause it (since I've already seen it), will the TH-cam system consider my comment to be SPAM since it thinks I didn't watch any of the video (so how could I have a legitimate opinion)? Also, what if I let it play a little first - how long would I have to let it play so it won't consider it SPAM?
awesome info my youtube friends ❤.. my question is.. if i change my metadata several times cuz i don't think my video is doing well in search and discovery.. will or would that have a damaging effect on the video ..
Tim Schmoyer says do not change the title or metadata on a strong performer. Leave it be. I would assume videos are re-indexed at night. If an underperforming video is not doing well, then sure shake it up a bit. If it is not doing well, you might be doing the video a favor.
Should we remove old videos that do not perform well? Will they eventually get recommended to new subs and the old vids may not be as good as newer content and disenfranchise newer audience?
Never remove a video. Change tags, title, thumbnail. I like the Robinsons motto here, "Keep moving forward..." But if attention is needed on an older video, take some time to beef it up.
Why aren’t thumbnails with people shouting bad then? I’ve never been a fan of the shouting/shocked face thumbnails but apparently that’s the only ones people click. Myth or fact: you can’t revive a dead channel. It’s better to start a new one
Atozy thank you. Sadly I’ve observed that there are 3 main ways to grow - make fake videos around trending topics, make fun of fake videos around trending topics, or teach people how to make the first two. It’s frustrating. But I get it
pretty much +BrickTsar ...also add in a shocking face thumbnail make sure you outline the shocked person. But to answer your myth or fact, I've had old videos start gaining views after changing titles and thumbnails so you can def revive a dead channel
I saw this while I was in the beta "Creator Studio" will we be able to get our videos there and recommended to others just as you have done with this video.
Hi there - I have a question: I got video's in 4 different languages - should I separate them to 4 different channels? or keep them all in the same one?
It was very witty that you did this title in all caps. :¬D I find caps harder to read than smaller, actually, probably because the letters are all the same height, so it's harder to distinguish between them.
I started a new channel during locked down was bored so find this as hobby my question is i have different contents on my channel like exploring travelling food and music does it impact my channel to grow of having different varieties because it will be hard for me to open many channels and manage all together at once on initial days while i have alot to learn and fix
All caps work better for comedy style videos to help show differences in serious tone videos compared to humorous vids in my opinion also another great vid creator insider is my favorite of the youtube channels 👍
Hey guys thanks for the update ! I have a question. - I create videos related to bikes trouble shoot and travel guide - some of my popular bike trouble shoot videos comes in travel videos suggestions which is not related to travel video users - this is leading higher impressions and low CTR and directly impacting on video ranking and all - I have already created separate playlist and given different categories Please help me and suggest how to solve this problem... I hope you will pick my question ...keep it real :)
My CTR is 4%. 1 Million Impressions leads to roughly 800K minutes of watch time. I liked your India to Bali Indonesia 2018 vid. You have good footage. Don't move the camera especially in the dark, give the camera something to focus on. Like the girl on the beach, back up a bit and give the shot more sand, more sand = more light. And getting in front of the camera and talking will help. Also for English speaking viewers, use CC. It would help people like me to know what you are saying. Allow your viewers to contribute to CC. Some footage could use some stabilization in post.
Thank you so much for the feedback WWPTV :) I really appreciate it. BTW that Bali Indonesia vid was shotted by iPhone only :). Anyway. I have a camera now I will try to follow your instructions, I have already set as allow viewers to contribute translated titles, descriptions, and subtitles/CC. Just wating for someone to contribute :D
Hi....In the English language, each letter has two forms , an uppercase or Capital (Cap) and lower case ..for example .Aa Bb Cc ....a capital letter is used to begin the first word of a sentence and a proper noun. ....but when someone capitalizes every letter in a word(s) , it seems like that they are screaming or shouting..like STOP!!!! lol (hope this helps)
I find it ridiculous that people care so much about caps. As a marketer, and someone who uses all caps in his titles, and as someone who cares about the aesthetic of my page, all caps is superior from an overall page look for my purposes. I think ones people see my videos they realize I don't scream. But I prefer the look, So I'm gonna take my chances. More information on how to properly title videos in various ways please!
Hello, super Barbara and Todd:) Please so much, I want to ask something: in my case, I am translating in 40+ languages most of my videos, and I have the possibility to create a new video title and description for each of these different languages.....but I would like to know what happens with the tags, please. Are they being translated automatically by your system, or they remain in the original form of the original principal language? Thank You very much and congratulations for what You are doing....I enjoy very much your videos:)
is there a theme for a channel based on language or type of content (ie specific game etc) or is it individual for each video independent from the channel?a
My 7-day Watch time view is interesting! (for me it's 25 hours), I just wish I could also see Month view, Year view and All time view. I am very eager to be able to see your count of my All time view. Or also to see my watch time by month (am I watching more TH-cam in the Winter or in the Summer?). Perhaps also let me see how much TH-cam I watch in each of those topics defined in my previous comment. How many hours do I watch of TV content? How much of technology videos, or comedy videos, how much of bloopers type videos and any other topic/grouping which you can identify? Which are my top viewed channels in terms of hours spent watching?
I was told that I should make my old videos private, the ones before I started actually doing youtube full-time (low view counts, no custom thumbnails, etc.) is there any validity to this?
Will we ever be able to get explanations for why a video was demonetized AFTER manual review? My most recent video was demonetized after manual review and it's probably the tamest and most non-controversial video I've ever done and has no bad language or anything to my knowledge. So I GENUINELY have zero idea why it was demonetized after manual review.... will there be a way for us to know why these things happen so we can better create content that will be monetized? I emailed Creator Support and they said they don't have info on the specific reason why my video was demonetized after review. They just gave a link to the ad friendly guidelines which I'm already aware of and followed.....
Does the benefit of longer watch times from doing live streams and having live stream VODs outweigh the reduced Average View percentage of such long-form content? Does that affect the performance of other, normal-length videos on the channel? Thanks! also Barbara's energy always makes my day
Thank you for the video, It is really helpful for a new channel like me. I have a question that I could not find the answer anywhere. I have a travel channel in a Turkish language but unfortunately, the algorithm focuses more on where I am in the world instead of the language of the video. How can I assist the algorithm to show my videos to Turkish speakers?
I have translated all of my titles into Spanish from the beginning of my channel, but the translations were removed by TH-cam, leaving only English. Why would that happen?
i have a question about translate, I found the video in need in English but once i click on it, it was in difference languages that i couldn't understand, so It made me feel very upset and waste my time. Does anyone can answer this? Thanks very much
What if I take the comments from our yoututbe channel and copy it on our website - Will it be treated a duplicate content? Please help or guide me to a suitable link.
Would love to see more of these videos. I find them informative. As for constructive criticism - I’d suggest to put the camera in a fixed focus mode, because whichever camera you’re using - it keeps searching for the focus point and it gets distracting. Plus this is a Creators insider video - you guys should set the example in attention to details. Same goes for the 60fps - stick to 30 or 24, 60 also looks distracting. Don’t get me wrong - love everything else you guys are doing! Thank you.
Colonel Failure thanks for the help! :) In that case I'd have to guess that watching 100% of a 2 minute video is better. It represents a higher "Average % watched per view" but I'm not sure.
ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO! Oops, sorry for the yelling. Hahahaha. I think a once a week hashtag series would be a nice addition. It's difficult for creators to believe it's mostly about the audience. There are so many channel management tools available that focus on metadata. And then creators observe CORRELATION and assume CAUSATION. Keep them coming. CaptRob
As a creator Is there a way to view the auto generated captions and correct the mistakes, rather than sitting down and spending hours typing them all from scratch? They are usually quite good but seem to struggle with names.

IM FINDING THERE IS SOMEONE HARASSING ME AND FOLLOWING ME AROUND ON TH-cam ANNOYING ME BECAUSE OF HOW I TYPE. I DONT PLAN TO CHANGE HOW I TYPE ANY TIME SOON BECAUSE THIS IS NOT ONLY HOW I LIKE TO TYPE BUT IT HELPS ME TO SEE BETTER. I FIND MY VISION ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT GOES BLURRED AND EVEN USING ALL CAPS I HAVE TROUBLE SEEING SOMETIMES. I CANT WEAR GLASSES BECAUSE THEY GIVE ME A HEADACHE. THERE IS NO LAW AGAINST USING ALL CAPS. MORE PPL SHOULD SART DOING IT ESPECIALLY IF THEY HAVE EYE TROUBLE LIKE MYSELF. AND ANYONE WHO PIKCS ON SOMEONE WHO HAS EYE TROUBLE AND USES ALL CAPS THEY SHOULD GET THEIR COMMENT DELETED.
I *REALLY* want to know if changing my thumbnail impacts the video in terms of search and discovery. In particular, if I feel a video COULD be doing better by changing the thumbnail, would making that change end up hurting more than helping.
@@Top10Lifestyle anywhere above 2% and below 10% is normal. You have to look at retention too though and baseline impressions. If people click but don't watch anything it probably won't do your video any good.

Thanks for the data. We are collecting as much of this as possible. I may make a video on it in the future.
Barbara says, *"IMAGINE WE ARE SHOUTING AT YOU RIGHT NOW"* Barbara please stop shouting in all videos❗
What? Don't Listen to Johnny Debt, scream all you want!
Yeah, I always mute my sound for the first few seconds for her initial shout to pass. Very annoying.
Any plans to add A/B testing for thumbnails and titles? I would love to see this feature in the new creator studio.
TH-cam is trying to diminish "custom thumbnail" practice and you're asking for more thumbnail options? I won't be surprised if youtube cancels "custom thumbnail" feature for cretors who are often reported for click-bait and such.
TubeBuddy already have this feature but it would be awesome if its implemented directly into youtube
Would love this
@@SideNote233 diminish custom thumbnails? I need a reference for this. They've said a lot that the thumbnail and title are super important to getting views.
yas!
Nice suggestions for beginners. Recently I have started my art channel and will try to use your tips in growing my channel. Thank you so much.
Reposting an old video after enhancmement and crop ? Will that have a ( positive or negative impact) on my channel?
Can we monitize the same?
Here's a question for ya.....
Can the YT algorithm 'read' emojis in a Title, Description etc?
Up
Ohhh! Good one! I use emojis in my titles and descriptions. Will add to our list.
@@BarbaraEMac Thanks Barbara, much appreciated!
I asked that in another videos comments. What was the answer? Is there a video on that too? Lol
Ive heard that when you have an evergreen video continually performing really well....but then you go in and update the description box with something and hit ‘Save’...it can reset the analytics on the video and views can immediately tank. Thoughts?
Have you ever tried it ?
Well I guess that explains why my videos get overwhelmingly positive comments from my subs but tank in performance. Cool.
Thank you :)
yes we need more videos from Todd
I agree!!
What do #hashtags do on TH-cam?
It made me click on your comment and search on hashtags. I never use them, but upon searching mine name, it came up with all my channel and videos. Hmm.
With "User behavior" does moderating comments hurt us? For example I make sure my comments don't get toxic and I have a huge filter list so a lot of my comments will show pending approval. Does that hurt me? Would it be better for the algorithm to just let everyone post ever single thing on the video for more engagement? I have always wonder if I am my own worst enemy on this. Does a deleted comment or pending approval comment still count as a comment itself?
this
You guys are so awesome! This was very useful. Thanks so much.
Can you please explain what should be looked at when a channel is being demonetized for "duplication" ? I deleted half of my channel's videos and still don't have a clue on what to do lol
Thank you so much! I see a lot of big TH-camrs using all caps so as a small channel we never knew whether we should or not. This helped a lot!

Had a couple of questions
Thanks!
underated channel haha 😂, you guys are dope
Does vid quality have a direct impact? As in 1080p gets more often suggested than 720p etc...
I know that there is search filters for quality so it might be the case
There were times, where for example 4K videos were more suggested, when it was fresh new, but I don't think that's still a thing.
on the CAPS.... All you have said is SOME viewers are put off by all caps. So it is a personal preference of the viewer. I personally think all caps stand out among many vids of the same category. All caps is not as I understand, an algorithm-driven thing. So folks experiment on a few. Write down the number of views on a fairly consistent video on your channel then change the title to caps and SEE what happens HAPPY YOUTUBING FOLKS ooopsss sorry caps lock was on.
it stands out as someone obnoxious who will probably be yelling all the way through the video, so - yeah, no,.,.
I can maybe try this
Thank you, I am really enjoying being a TH-cam creator. Very helpful information!!
Thank you so much for taking the time to help us the masses understand how to be better content creators, it is appreciated.
I GET BLURRED VISION A LOT TOO WHICH IS ANNOYING AND ALL CAPS HELPS ME TO SEE BETTER.
thank you, guys
QnA: Does the algorithm distinguished between a ordinary, first-time view and a view where someone is responding to a heart, or a comment notification?
In other words, does an active back and forth negatively affect a video's "percent watch time," or is it smart enough to differentiate between different types of views?
Excellent - I really appreciate these insights. I'm still wondering if putting the subtitles transcript in paragraph form in the description can help.
Cool. I had started using all caps all the time. I'm working on a video now about my outdoor shelter and will just use a regular capitalized sentence this time :) Thanks for the tips!
Two myth questions:
#1 If I choose one of my normal videos to be featured on my channel page (I forget what specifically that's called) for new viewers to see (automatically), will that hurt that video's discoverability (since the views will likely have low watch times)?
That answer is coming up in a future MYTHBUSTING episode!
thank you so much Barbara 💙
Tim Schmoyer says do not change the title or metadata on a strong performer. Leave it be. I would assume videos are re-indexed at night. If an underperforming video is not doing well, then sure shake it up a bit. If it is not doing well, you might be doing the video a favor.

Q
Should we remove old videos that do not perform well? Will they eventually get recommended to new subs and the old vids may not be as good as newer content and disenfranchise newer audience?
In my opinion you don't have to remove any old video because it can be ranked/getting suggested anytime....!
Never remove a video. Change tags, title, thumbnail. I like the Robinsons motto here, "Keep moving forward..." But if attention is needed on an older video, take some time to beef it up.
Do Captions (subtitles) help videos be recommended??
Coming in a future video!
Yes
Why aren’t thumbnails with people shouting bad then? I’ve never been a fan of the shouting/shocked face thumbnails but apparently that’s the only ones people click. Myth or fact: you can’t revive a dead channel. It’s better to start a new one
You can revive a dead channel at any point in time you start creating content that pulls clicks.
I have 2 channels and the channel that uses all caps is doing way better that the channel that doesn't
is that true?
Great info thank you. New to you tube doing a family vlog and didn't realise I'd have so much to learn x
Great video guys. Keep up the great work
Thank you for making these type of videos available! It's helpful information.
Something like this on a weekly basis would be really awesome!
I saw this while I was in the beta "Creator Studio" will we be able to get our videos there and recommended to others just as you have done with this video.
Nice video Thanks so much! Some great insight in this one.
ALWAYS enjoy getting GREAT information, always very helpful -- Thank you!
I started a new channel during locked down was bored so find this as hobby my question is i have different contents on my channel like exploring travelling food and music does it impact my channel to grow of having different varieties because it will be hard for me to open many channels and manage all together at once on initial days while i have alot to learn and fix
When a viral video suddenly dies....should is change tags and thumbnail right away or just wait and hope for the best 😅👍
I TRY TO ADD MORE TAGS IF I CAN THINK OF ANY MORE THAN I ALREADY HAVE. I THINK SOMETIMES IT HELPS.
THIS IS HELPFUL | THANK YOU!!!
Can you make an ep about subscriber burn ?
What is subscriber burn?
Is it good practice to pay for discovery ads to get some initial data going on a new video for TH-cam's algo ?
All caps work better for comedy style videos to help show differences in serious tone videos compared to humorous vids in my opinion also another great vid creator insider is my favorite of the youtube channels 👍
Hey guys thanks for the update !
I have a question.
- I create videos related to bikes trouble shoot and travel guide
- some of my popular bike trouble shoot videos comes in travel videos suggestions which is not related to travel video users
- this is leading higher impressions and low CTR and directly impacting on video ranking and all
- I have already created separate playlist and given different categories
Please help me and suggest how to solve this problem...
Just wating for someone to contribute :D
im really sorry by the way what is "caps"??
Hi....In the English language, each letter has two forms , an uppercase or Capital (Cap) and lower case ..for example .Aa Bb Cc ....a capital letter is used to begin the first word of a sentence and a proper noun. ....but when someone capitalizes every letter in a word(s) , it seems like that they are screaming or shouting..like STOP!!!! lol (hope this helps)
"Imagine if we were shouting at you right now?" You're always shouting at us with that high pitched voice!
More information on how to properly title videos in various ways please!
yeah i think it's kinda silly too but eh,humans amiright?
*Awesome tips, that dispelled quite a few Myths that I was using. How does one get featured as a rising creator?? :)*
Hello, super Barbara and Todd:)
Please so much, I want to ask something: in my case, I am translating in 40+ languages most of my videos, and I have the possibility to create a new video title and description for each of these different languages.....but I would like to know what happens with the tags, please. Are they being translated automatically by your system, or they remain in the original form of the original principal language? Thank You very much and congratulations for what You are doing....I enjoy very much your videos:)
is there a theme for a channel based on language or type of content (ie specific game etc) or is it individual for each video independent from the channel?a
Thank you! Very insightful and helpful 🤓
Nuance Bro NO. 😁😎😁
oh just move on. A video won't make you a billionaire anyways.
SideNote ....but one video often makes more than 1000 dollars....that adds up nicely
My guess would be since its a political video
Does the benefit of longer watch times from doing live streams and having live stream VODs outweigh the reduced Average View percentage of such long-form content? Does that affect the performance of other, normal-length videos on the channel? Thanks!
also Barbara's energy always makes my day
Thank you for the video, It is really helpful for a new channel like me. I have a question that I could not find the answer anywhere. I have a travel channel in a Turkish language but unfortunately, the algorithm focuses more on where I am in the world instead of the language of the video. How can I assist the algorithm to show my videos to Turkish speakers?
Thank you
Really love these videos. Got my notifications on!
💛 This content is simply fantastic. Thank You so much for helping us re-focus our efforts.
Golden information. Thanks for helping grow my channel
Why editing little bit in keywords sometimes effects all keyword rankings for particular video and sometimes it doesn't effect....?
Does it harm your video or watchtime when people open your video to comment on it or respond to replies, but it auto plays for a few seconds?
0:13 Todd contemplating running away after that intro 🤭
BARBARA!
Heh, you found me. Ssshh! Don't tell
How far ahead can you schedule videos? Does it affect your video’s performance if video was scheduled rather than just posted straight up?
Xx
I have translated all of my titles into Spanish from the beginning of my channel, but the translations were removed by TH-cam, leaving only English. Why would that happen?
i have a question about translate, I found the video in need in English but once i click on it, it was in difference languages that i couldn't understand, so It made me feel very upset and waste my time. Does anyone can answer this? Thanks very much
I've noticed some creators putting tags in the description box too...would you consider this a waste of time or useful?? Thx
I love people using all caps because it is easier to read in the title and on thumbnail
What if I take the comments from our yoututbe channel and copy it on our website - Will it be treated a duplicate content?
Please help or guide me to a suitable link.
All Caps is not actually attracted audience well, but can you tell me if some tags are in CAPS, then what happened?
omg i love you guys for always helping us how to continue what we love vlogging
Do the words like "War" etc. affect our video recommendations? If you are reviewing a TV series, you can avoid those terms..
thank you
Would love to see more of these videos.
Thank you.
iPod was here.
Aye wassup Big Bro
Barbara! Everything you say is like someone’s shouting at us 🤣🤪 YOU’RE AWESOME THOUGH!
I just discovered you guys. Very helpful so far. Thanks for the good info this vid and the last one.
What is better.. A viewer watching 50% of a 10 minute video or a viewer watching 100% of a 2 minute video?
50% of a 10 min video. It's all about watch-minutes. The more the better
The better question is whether watching 20% of a 10 minute, or 100% of a 2 minute is better. Same watch time, is there any difference in performance?
Now that's a good question!
Colonel Failure thanks for the help! :) In that case I'd have to guess that watching 100% of a 2 minute video is better. It represents a higher "Average % watched per view" but I'm not sure.
@@TheBookofChoyer I'd assume the same, but it could be that the alogirithm doesn't care.
How to get views through browse features ?
THANKS FOR CLARIFYING THAT FOR US. KEEP UP THE GREAT TIPS THAT YOU ARE PASSING ON TO US😉👍
OK, GLAD YOU ENJOYED IT. PLS KEEP WATCHING OUR VIDEOS.
IM WITH YOU. I AM AN ELDERLY PERSON, I HAVENT WATCHED MUCH OF THIS VIDEO SO FAR BUT I CAN GATHER ITS FOR PPL WHO LIKE TO USE ALL CAPS. AND ITS NOT SHOUTING LIKE SOME FOOLS THINK IT IS. A LOT OF OLD PPL HAVE TROUBLE SEEING AND IVE USED CAPS MOST OF MY LIFE. MANY YEARS AGO I USED TO BE A DICTAPHONE TYPIST AND I TYPED ON AN ELECTRIC TYPEWRITER AND ALSO ON A MANUAL AND PPL THERE USED TO LOVE PPL TO TYPE IN ALL CAPS BECAUSE IT WAS EASIER TO SEE THE PRINT.
Try using the Click through rate metric in TH-cam Studio beta
^^ What Freek said. Trust this man.
How much click through rate is good enough?
@@Top10Lifestyle anywhere above 2% and below 10% is normal. You have to look at retention too though and baseline impressions. If people click but don't watch anything it probably won't do your video any good.
