I noticed it, too. I haven't beaten the game yet but I suspect it is both a callback to the first game and an important part of the overall story. Amnesia, the medical condition, is an important part of the Amnesia games.

If it has big hips, tummy, thighs, and tiny everything else, you are probably looking at a fertility statue :)

Frictional games hasn't made an Amnesia game for 10 years - Machine for pigs was another developer. THIS developer and this franchise, a combination that hasn't been touched for 10 years, basically BIRTHED all of the youtube lets plays. It carried so many channels to greatness on it's back. You need to be fucking FAST with this game, because you can be damn sure EVERYONE is going to be playing it. For sure.

To be honest, the google translation was surprisingly good. It's hard to translate poetry because the nuances are lost on the way but google gave you a solid interpretation of the meaning.

I'm loving this series so far, the world building is great and I'm diggin Tasi as a protagonist (though the usage of lost children, pregnancy and childbirth in indie horror is getting old). That room with the goddess statue was a *safe room.* If you had looked at the door, you would have seen that there's a lock so you can lock yourself inside. There's also the same relatively calm music as a cue in every safe room.

I love how they're played so many scary games with the same tropes they assume the main character is the monster and parts are happening in her head. I really hope that's not the case. I want a more interesting storyline!
When first he played Amnesia had the girls watching his torment and enjoying it , but now he can suffer with his friends and go through the torment together this time XD
Actually, Alex, standing in the bright desert heat is pretty much a slow, but noticeably quick burning process - 10 minutes without shade will make you have a heat stroke, quicker if it's particularly hot, and you'll need to drink tens of liters of water to make up for the low humidity and your own body's humidification if you spend a day in it. They obviously just sped that up for video game mechanic purposes, but unrealistic it is not!
I waited for this the whole last evening (while playing ahead to avoid spoilers). Got surprised pleasantly after waking and now I can enjoy this with my morning coffee. (SGS won't let down.) PS: A perfect chance for Jesse to give us more Aladdin songs like in the original Amnesia playthrough?

We have "Katzenzungen" ( Cat tongues ) in Germany - basically just milk chocolate that is SOMEHOW tongue-shaped.
in Chile we have "Lenguitas de Gato" also tongue-ish-shaped thin slices of milk chocolate :)

Oh man, I loved the first playthrough he did of The Dark Decent, back in the day! LOVE that he's playing this one (with the squad of course) ALSO having just recently finished Dark Decent, and hearing this one is fantastic, I can't wait to see their thoughts on this!

I think Jesse is 100% right. I think Tasi did something so awful, that she locked herself up for it, but it caused so much trauma, that she forgot everything.

this is a really unique setting for a horror game and quite far from previous Amnesia's settings which I think is a good thing

That room with the goddess statue was a *safe room.* If you had looked at the door, you would have seen that there's a lock so you can lock yourself inside. There's also the same relatively calm music as a cue in every safe room.

I laughed at Ho-Oh, I can see that being Ho-oh. Maybe he's the villain, angry at people trying to catch him all the time, so he downs planes in the desert for fun now? I was a gen1 pokemon trainer but I did catch Ho-oh in an emulator a few years back :D

I like that the matches are more restrictive than the first game's oil lamp, for added worry. Thats a cool change, you can't light a match for just a second and save the rest, and it can blow out.

I also thought Alex and Richard are just lovers. He sounded reassuring. But I guess they heard a hint of threat in Alex's voice, plus he's the person who funded the expedition, and we all know that money = bad. :p

I love how they're played so many scary games with the same tropes they assume the main character is the monster and parts are happening in her head.

Actually, Alex, standing in the bright desert heat is pretty much a slow, but noticeably quick burning process - 10 minutes without shade will make you have a heat stroke, quicker if it's particularly hot, and you'll need to drink tens of liters of water to make up for the low humidity and your own body's humidification if you spend a day in it. They obviously just sped that up for video game mechanic purposes, but unrealistic it is not!

Laudanum was also important in the first Amnesia game as well. It was what Daniel took to heal himself from monster attacks.
I waited for this the whole last evening (while playing ahead to avoid spoilers). Got surprised pleasantly after waking and now I can enjoy this with my morning coffee. (SGS won't let down.)
PS: A perfect chance for Jesse to give us more Aladdin songs like in the original Amnesia playthrough?

That’s the difference between Frictional Games making the games and the Chinese Room (made Machine for Pigs) ... Frictional really knows their horror! ❤️
As someone who can't play scary games and missed out on Amnesia, why is Machine for Pigs often besmirched?
@@jonnydude69 the writing and plot were super lacking and it got extremely repetitive. At least that is why I had qualms with it
