idk if you’ve ever heard of it, but since Davis mentioned he’d like to see this concept fleshed out a little more: Space Octopus Studios’ _Do You Copy_ takes this same exact concept, but puts you in the shoes of a forest ranger in a fire tower in the 90’s trying to guide lost hikers to safety from a monster while trying not to get yourself killed. anyway, always makes my day to see a new sgs video. (:
I meaaannn.... I'm not entirely sure how/why the boys haven't done this yet. It's gotta be by far the most watched content. Why not open a new main channel for SGS, along with a patreon that includes special features like uncut episodes, bloopers, etc. Where you pay for the ability to vote on what games to play next(or how Super Beard Bros does it where you can pay an additional flat fee and they play the entire game of whatever you choose) and call it good. There's so many better games out there that they need to play, or even ones that they played the demos of that they should return to playing the entire game of. I absolutely agree with you. SGS is my favorite thing to watch.
Will Alex return from exile? Will Davis find a shotgun? Will Jesse insist on looking for loot behind a waterfall only he can see? Will Jirard complete this game? Too in next time to SGS to find out!
This should get expanded into a full game. There's already more going on here than in something like FNAF, and with multiple days to work over, you have much more space for elaborating on the mechanics.
Honestly this has all the gameplay appeal of FNAF but like triple it. I don’t think this format would be good for like a huge narrative but I didn’t think FNAF was and… well we saw how that went. Plus it just feels more cozy.
With Alex absent, I can tell who's all talking, lol. He's the one that I get confused with either Jarard or Davis, he's like right on the spectrum between the two a lot of times.
For those wondering: Jesse read the Japanese numbers right to left, since you read panels in Japanese from right to left. However, you read actual horizontal lines of text from left to right, so that's where the mistake came from. (Primarily the right-to-left is used in cases where Japanese text is written vertically, and in manga.)
What a fun watch. Love the nonchalant attitude of the radio host and the producer, especially after the salesman's death. The devs definitely made do with what little they had, despite the limitations.
someone else already commented about this, but you guys should DEFINITELY play Do You Copy, its this same concept but much more horror and atmospheric!!
Scary Game Squad has consistently been my favorite youtube series since its inception. Thank you Jesse and the boys for continuing to make such quality content, I love y'all!
Are you guys planning to do the rest of the Dread X Collections? Not trying to sound impatient or demanding; I’m fine with whatever you guys decide to do, SGS always makes me happy, even when y’all play games I have no interest in. I’m just genuinely curious, since you did the first 2, but haven’t looked at 3 or The Hunt yet.
Davis! I was so disappointed when you said S. Jackson was a Michael Jackson reference when it was most likely a Shirley Jackson reference! She wrote some great horror novels, including "The Haunting of Hill House" and "The Lottery."
Incredible. Earlier today I was thinking "I haven't seen a SGS video in a while, I hope we get a new one soon", and lo and behold. Been waiting for this, can't wait for the next!
I absolutely love SGS. Don't take it in wrong way. But I love falling asleep by this videos. I'm still watching resident evil ep2 even I started watching it from beginning. And I start playing it more than 10 times. Sorry for my bad English.
This is a nice premise for a Halloween short game. Have the killer be Michael Myers, we confront him at the end, have the Halloween theme playing or something. This could work.
I think i cracked it.The reason Jirard and Alex SEEM like they have the same voice is because Jesse has so much bass and Davis is so highpitched that Jirard and Alex sound the same by comparison! We need a sgs with just Alex and Jirard! But they both pretend they are a single person... Or they keep switching names, just to see who notices!
The main VA is doing a solid impression of "young" (early to mid '90s) James Woods. I dimly recall there being a movie, Tales From The Crypt episode, or some other horror/thriller anthology series entry starring Woods with this exact premise....
This reminds me of the movie "Pontypool" (2008) with having a radio station and "killer frequency" (which this game hasn't). I wonder if the developers inspired from that movie.
This was an awesome game, I wish they would make a longer version of it. Also, I thought there would be at least a little confusion at the Japanese code but you guys didn't even miss a beat. すごい! ("sugoi" - amazing).
This actually reminds me of the one game where you play a park ranger trying to help someone avoid the goatman or whatever and reach your tower at night in a State Park! It feels so close.
All the references in this are so great. A+ to the dev team for those. For those not in the know: L. Strode: Laurie Strode - protagonist of "Halloween" Myres Lane - Michael Myers, antagonist of "Halloween" Killkenny ave. - South Park, I think? It used to be a joke in the show that Kenny would die every episode. Mr. A Bell - Obviously Alexander Graham Bell, inventor of the telephone Mr. J Carpenter - Horror movie director, directed "Halloween" among many other great horror flicks. Ms. S Jackson - Either a reference to Michael Jackson and "Thriller" or Samuel L. Jackson and his notable horror movie roles. Why they made it a Ms.? No idea. Radio Shed - Radio Shack. Obviously. I think that's it?
Why does this look so different to the game I watched Gab and Sean play...? Is this a demo/prologue, or an earlier rendition of the game? If so I'd love for you guys to play the full game!
22:15 for future reference, when chinese/korean/japanese are written vertically, then it's oriented right to left (i.e - top to bottom then read each line from right to left). When it's written horizontally, it goes left to right, then down the next row. Can't speak to what other non-latin languages do, other than that arabic/hebrew does horizontal right-to-left.
I should say that "Japanese written inside a circuit breaker box" would not qualify as traditional writing, and a single line would read left to right. Just wanted to provide some more detail on some surprising edge cases for reading Japanese.
The amount of brainpower it took at the end for them to finally realize the guy needs to make a left then a right.. 3 minds combined and it still took them like 3 minutes of deliberating to finally figure it out. All the while complaining that they don't know where he is when they were literally told what intersection he'd be at..
What intersection he's at doesn't mean you know which direction he is coming to the intersection from. The extra part they had to figure out was that if he was leaving the gas station, he had to be facing West [or he could have been facing North, if they only knew the intersection and not which road he was on]
@@GendoRokabundi He's at the gas station. He says the first intersection he'll meet is Killkenny Avenue and Woodlands Road.. That tells you he's coming out of the north side of the gas station going west, so he'll immediately need a left then a right. It's not hard at all.
16:00 can't believe my japanese comes in handy here. Those are kanji, and of course 123 make sense based on the ammount of lines. The last one being Yon or Yotsu. 4 can also be read as shi (death) and is the superstitious number in Japan just like 13 is in the West. 4th floor, room or other things relating to fours are bad luck.
.16 is def not a thing, but Imma watch! (less than 1:30 into the vid). I appreciate the subtle not knowing what Betamax was/is (it was/is a higher quality version of VHS that never caught on except for collectors). If you can find a player and videos and compare them, you'd like it if you're into collecting video technology. A bit like how Blueray overtook HDDVD. (Blue versus red). Doing ok, and yes, Dr. Claw/any horror movie voice phone. (Calling it that the killer was listening to the broadcast the whole time and wanted to lure the radio personality somewhere.).... but I'm still listening. - PS: I think too much. Great going - (All minds are greater than one)!
So... First thing I thought of, when I heard that first caller's voice (Call 3) and his general demeanor didn't hurt either... Was Donnie Baker, a character who "calls" into the Bob & Tom Radio show (which airs in Midwest USA)
I love you fellas. Here’s to hoping SGS keeps on trucking.
I mean it's pretty much a guarantee they're doing House of Ashes at the end of the month
idk if you’ve ever heard of it, but since Davis mentioned he’d like to see this concept fleshed out a little more: Space Octopus Studios’ _Do You Copy_ takes this same exact concept, but puts you in the shoes of a forest ranger in a fire tower in the 90’s trying to guide lost hikers to safety from a monster while trying not to get yourself killed.
anyway, always makes my day to see a new sgs video. (:
Something else in that vein would be Interference by Vicarious Gaming, it's not out yet but from the demo I played it looks promising.
All great suggestions.
Hope Jesse sees this.
I was SO delighted to see this pop up in my notifications. I missed SGS so much!
Only gone for 1.5 months, but I know how you feel.
man i really missed Jirard this episode but alex really killed it in this one
If I was a millionaire I would fund them personally to start a SGS channel my favourite thing on youtube by far.
Same!
That would be amazing. They could also be SMS on this channel (scary movie squad) sort of like mystery science theater
Ya seriously sgs should have its own separate channel
Would help organize things at the least
I meaaannn.... I'm not entirely sure how/why the boys haven't done this yet. It's gotta be by far the most watched content. Why not open a new main channel for SGS, along with a patreon that includes special features like uncut episodes, bloopers, etc. Where you pay for the ability to vote on what games to play next(or how Super Beard Bros does it where you can pay an additional flat fee and they play the entire game of whatever you choose) and call it good. Will Alex return from exile?
Will Davis find a shotgun?
Will Jesse insist on looking for loot behind a waterfall only he can see?
Will Jirard complete this game?
Too in next time to SGS to find out!
Tune in*
What are you talking about, Alex is right there! Problem is, where's Jirard?
This game perfectly encapsulates the horror experience for me...having to give accurate directions to strangers.
This game needs a replay by the squad it just came out!
Jirard's "hey man" Alex impression actually got me oml my sides 🤣🤣
What do you mean? That was clearly Alex pretending to be Jirard the whole video! 😎
With Alex absent, I can tell who's all talking, lol. He's the one that I get confused with either Jarard or Davis, he's like right on the spectrum between the two a lot of times.
The laugh.
Absolutely - he's got the accent Jirard has, but the pitch of Davis, unless he's really calm - then he's Jirard's pitch. It's wild.
i’ve been watching them for years and i still cannot tell whos talking besides jesse lol
Im so happy to see a new Scary Game Squad~! You guys are awesome and one of my favorite lets play teams, hands down.
What a fun watch. Love the nonchalant attitude of the radio host and the producer, especially after the salesman's death. The devs definitely made do with what little they had, despite the limitations.
PLEASE play the full release 🙏🏻
Thank you guys for still doing scary game squad, you’re all great
someone else already commented about this, but you guys should DEFINITELY play Do You Copy, its this same concept but much more horror and atmospheric!!
oh please please please play the full release! Thought of the squad as soon as I heard of it
Scary Game Squad has consistently been my favorite youtube series since its inception. Thank you Jesse and the boys for continuing to make such quality content, I love y'all!
You guys should play the full game, it’s got the same mechanics with a “I know what you did last summer” type story. It’s a really good game!
I love how they underthought the first call, and then overthought the second call.
And there I was just thinking I would like a new SGS to watch
Betamax players were still called VCRs. Stands for Video Cassette Recorder. Some VCRs took Betamax, some took VHS.
Im sure they’re just saving those for when Alex is available
@@dennisl9176 why Alex isn't available?
let’s goooooo, happy spooky season boys!!!
I’ve had a bad night, a rough night. Jesse and the boys always make it better.
And when we needed them most, in this month of scary fun amongst a year of terrible scares, the boys arrived. Cheers, to the Spooky Game Team!
SGS always gets me in the Halloween spirit, hope to see a few more videos later in the month!
So happy to see the squad again I love you boys
The game is being expanded upon with more content! It'll be out in a month, I really hope y'all check it out :D !!!
Davis! I was so disappointed when you said S. Jackson was a Michael Jackson reference when it was most likely a Shirley Jackson reference! She wrote some great horror novels, including "The Haunting of Hill House" and "The Lottery."
Jesus Christ, this is about the seventh time I’ve heard a Shirley Jackson reference this week. her works _literally_ haunt me, I guess
I think he was joking :)
This had to be recorded while Alex was out with Ted eating burgers.
Please come back and finish the full version of Killer Frequency!
Incredible. Earlier today I was thinking "I haven't seen a SGS video in a while, I hope we get a new one soon", and lo and behold. Been waiting for this, can't wait for the next!
The best kinda content is always SGS figuring puzzles out together 💖💕
I absolutely love SGS. Don't take it in wrong way. But I love falling asleep by this videos. I'm still watching resident evil ep2 even I started watching it from beginning. And I start playing it more than 10 times. Sorry for my bad English.
Your English is good! I do the exact same thing. I started their Black Rose video 15 times, and I fell asleep each time
I love falling asleep to SGS too!
This is a nice premise for a Halloween short game. Have the killer be Michael Myers, we confront him at the end, have the Halloween theme playing or something. This could work.
This game actually came out!
This might be my favorite scary games squad video in a while
Wait a minute... Something's definitely different about this SGS - is Jesse missing?
Nah, I think it’s Davis.
Replay the full release dudes!
I really hope the squad can find time to play the full game
I think i cracked it.The reason Jirard and Alex SEEM like they have the same voice is because Jesse has so much bass and Davis is so highpitched that Jirard and Alex sound the same by comparison!
We need a sgs with just Alex and Jirard! But they both pretend they are a single person... Or they keep switching names, just to see who notices!
I wish they would return to this and play the full game version.
Hoping to see more SGS coming up as Halloween nears! Yall are the best
This would be a great escape room
I hope you guys do Alan Wake Remaster. It would be great to see. But always enjoy more SGS.
I was thinking today that I would love to see another SGS Video and the lord has giveith
This game is so dope, hope it becomes a full game!

This reminds me of the movie "Pontypool" (2008) with having a radio station and "killer frequency" (which this game hasn't). I wonder if the developers inspired from that movie.
Yesss! Been waiting since October started for a new SGS!
I love how Jesse figures the lights puzzle's answer was right to left because that's how you read "Manga".
The music at 39:00 is a freakin JAM
the rest of the game rocks too.
22:36 Jesse doesn't want to admit he's read a few too many doujins haha
This was an awesome game, I wish they would make a longer version of it.
Also, I thought there would be at least a little confusion at the Japanese code but you guys didn't even miss a beat. すごい! ("sugoi" - amazing).

@@MH-hu5pi did not know that! Awesome!
Kilkenny is the name of a city in Ireland. That's probably what that one's actually referring to.
Why does this look so different to the game I watched Gab and Sean play...? Is this a demo/prologue, or an earlier rendition of the game? If so I'd love for you guys to play the full game!
Ooh I saw a playthrough of this game when it came out a couple of years ago. I loved it and I agree that it should be expanded upon :)
20:57
Hearing that gave me chills. The raspy breathing was too similar to the Golden State Killer phone recording.
Excellent little game! Also, today I learnt that Americans spell calibre as "caliber". Neat!
Its sad the squad didn't play the full release of this one =/
This game can be a premise to a good movie
This was a tight little game, and while we didn't get some of the usual SGS antics, I just like hearing you guys.
I'm happy we got a SGS video on october. I hope you guys had a great time too
The cast for this game was really good, the main guy reminds me a lot of Jonathan Banks
I feel like that game with the goat man and you're in the fire tower would be a good quick run SGS video.
OH MY GOD I LOVE THIS GAME. I'M SO HAPPY TO SEE Y'ALL PLAYING IT

Always happy to see SGS in my notifications, this squad was a great idea. Who came up with it?
Not sure but I believe it started when they all got together to play PT. Which went super viral cause everyone loved their chemistry
PT, what a ride. Would have loved to see the squad play it if it finished.
i scream, you scream, we all scream for the sgs team
Yes I've been waiting for some new SGS!
yeah!!!!! always happy to see new scary game squad
Jirard's "Hey Myan" at the end was so funny 🤣
"We nailed it with the lights on" If that's how you wanna do it Jesse lol
That’s so crazy cause I just finished watching Jesse and dodger play dark nights with Poe and Munro… another radio mystery/thriller… hmmm…
Yeah I was having Poe and Munro flashbacks with the batter between Forrest and the Producer lady.
I love sgs, it's just so chill
Forrest Nash sounds so much like Coach Beard from Ted Lasso that I can't unhear it
As someone named Forrest this video in particular is oddly engaging
"Is a Tape Deck just an audio cassette player?"
Geez.
Fucking hell, I'm old.
We need more of these cool indie games.

Still trying to figure out where Jesse got his fuse numbers from 😂😂😂
He's reading right to left.
"Second symbol has 1 line, so the second breaker must be switched first.
Fourth symbol has 2 lines so the fourth breaker my be switched second.
Etc."
@@DonTonberry91 Yeah, Jesse actually thought it through pretty smart in that regard, but alas, the puzzle wasn't that smart

It's weird that the game gives you the most difficult of the three challenges before the others.
I think you can choose their order by choosing the buttons on the phone
That was fun and really tense for some reason.
YEEEESSSSSS MORE SGS, just what I've been waiting for 😁
