Thank you for this! Because of your tutorial I’ve managed to reset a similar Timex Perpetual watch (which I had no clue)Thanks again very it’s much appreciated.
You are welcome! So glad, that this video had helped you! Thank you for your feedback.
Have yet to try this but this looks as though this is what i have been looking for!
I hope this video will help you to set your watch up. I've tried to make the instructions as clear as I could.
I just bought an almost identical Timex. The model number is T2D541. It is essentially the same watch except mine has a black dial and says "100m" instead of 50m and it uses a 2016 battery. But it's the same shape, bracelet and everything. Thank you for this video. I now know how to set it. I couldn't find anything anywhere. Subscription earned.
Thanks for subscribing, and enjoy your Timex!
Nice Work....easy to understand...good teacher.Thank you.
Thank you!
Wow cool watch had no idea that Timex made this cool watch great video.
Thanks!
Thanks a lot mate
Great video. I was told by a jeweler that I needed to send the watch away to another jeweler who specialized in these types of timex perpetual calendar watches. I avoided shipping, cost, and wait tme doing it myself. Thanks.
Great! Glad you have adjusted your watch by yourself. And thank you for watching!
Thank you and awesome video
Thank you for your nice comment!
Great video. Big help! Thanks
This work is impressive
Thanks
Thank you, Nikolay!
You are awesome! My watch died years ago. Now I can finally set it. One question, maybe I missed it, how do you distinguish between am and pm? Don't want the date to change at noon 😊
Edit: I'm an idiot. The answer was obvious. Thank you again!
Thank you! Glad you brought up your watch back to life again. All the best!
Thank you! One question: what will be happen after 2031 if i need to replace the battery and do this reprogramming process? There is no 32 in the date-wheel.
The same question had been asked awhile ago and I answered it as the following: I think the whole thing about perpetual calendar is to recognize the leap years. So, if you resetting in 2032, for instance, and you know that it is a leap year, I'd set it to the year 2004, or 2028, or any leap year between. Other part of setting would be the same as in my video. Thanks for watching and asking!
Very good instructions. How do you get the date to center in the window? Mine is in the middle of two dates.
Did you replace the battery? My date was also in the middle, until I replaced the battery and did set up the calendar as it is shown in the video.
Yes. Battery was replaced by local jewelry store @@ValentechTime
Hi, Fantastic video. I was quoted 50GBP to fix the perpetual calender but I set it myself after watching your video and it is working perfectly. Thank you.
Just one question, How would you set the year if the calender needed resetting after 2032? I guess the date will not go beyond 2031. What will you then do?
Hi Rangaraj, I'm glad the video helped you to set up your watch. Also, thanks for your great question. From my knowledge the perpetual calendar is designed to work until 2100. But if you need to change battery after 2031, then it become more complex and I did not think about this until you asked. Here is my thinking (nothing I could find online in this regard). I think the whole thing about perpetual calendar is to recognize the leap years. So, if you resetting in 2032, for instance, and you know that it is a leap year, I'd set it to the year 2004, or 2028, or any leap year between. Other part of setting would be the same as in my video. Does it make sense? Please let me know.
Hi, Thanks for explaining. Yes, it makes sense. I will go back to 2004 in 2032, assuming the watch is still working by then!😁 It is already 15 years old!!
I would have thought it would have been easier for Timex to keep year markers as just 1,2,3,4 with 1 being leap year+1, 2 being leap tear+2, 3 being leap year+3 and 4 being leap year.
Anyways we will work with what we got and I have no qualms. It is still a pretty good watch 15 years and still ticking.🤗
@RANGARAJ SETHURAMAN I'll do the same.
Thank you for posting this video. I have the exact same watch. Can you tell me how to remove and reinsert the crown. There seems to be two locking mechanisms for it.
You are right, there are two locking mechanisms. Your question has inspired me to make a short video to show how to remove/insert the stem from/in this watch. I'll publish the video very soon.
Hello, just published the video on the subject of removing the stem at th-cam.com/video/40tTE0VRE4U/w-d-xo.html
Nice video, man .
Is watch on the sale?
I,m fun of Times.
Thank you
Thanks for the comment, man! But the watch is not for sale, sorry.
I just had my battery replaced. The jeweller had no idea how to set the calendar. However, the second hand is moving.
Do I need to open the back and press "Reset", or can I go straight to setting the watch as in your video?
I believe you do not need to do reset if second hand is alive. Just proceed as in the video.
Thank you so much. I understand the setting but am not able to get the second hand button going. The Indiglo is working so I know the battery is good. But I'm not sure exactly what to press or for how long to get the second hand started.
I did not understand what you call by "second button". At the same time you are saying that you understand the setting procedure. Please clarify.
@@ValentechTime Sorry, that was a typo. I can't find the reset button so that the second hand starts. I ended up sending the watch to Timex because ... I couldn't get the second hand to start. I knew the battery was good because the Indiglo was working. Thank you.
@@ValentechTime She said the second hand was not moving and she couldn't find the "Reset" button to start the second hand.
You were able to find the "Reset" button on the watch in your video.
As a result, she sent the watch to "Timex" to set the calendar.
@@Boyo1956 I saw you another message where you are saying that the second hand is moving, so I suggested to proceed with the steps, shown in the video. Looks like, that the watch was sent to Timex anyway, sorry.
@@ValentechTime I still have my watch. It was the other woman who sent her watch to Timex.
I will follow your directions. Thanks!
Do i need to remove and put back my battery to calibrate the date?
The date doesnt go back and forth after i pulled the crown to its 2nd position. How can i enter to setting mode? Please help.
@@batangeyteesIf you follow the steps in the video, you should be able to enter the setting mode. Is your movement the same?
Do you know why my watch is going to number 2 everytime I push the crown?😄
You push the crown from which position? Do you do this during setting up calendar or not?
This couldn’t be more confusing…. Searching for a better explanation …
