My GLASGOW Born (1911) Grandfather and Mentor, used to Sing "Loch Lomond" quite often in his Scottish Brogue! I could Imagine Him as you sang! You've got a Pretty Good Brogue Yourself Jim! This is an Awesome Adventure! Thanks for Bringing Us Along! 🎶🏴🇺🇸
Have I mentioned "gobsmacked" yet? Oh yes, at least twice. Congrats to you and Ted for this epic masterpiece of an adventure and nice editing and story telling Jim, I'm really enjoying the whole package. Hard work well done.
Such beautiful scenery, I'm so glad you leave in all the sounds of nature in , the wind and water, and really appreciate that you don't apologize for it. Even the caribou running sounded so crisp and clear. Amazing. Thank you.
Your endurance and ability to continue daily even though you are both getting eaten alive is impressive..... lol Another great peek into your adventure. Many thx.
You’re welcome c you know the bugs aren’t always so bad of course. Just at camp when the winds are down mostly and the temp is right for them. For most of the day in the water and what not it’s fine. They can be a test at times of course though!
By the way, I think the pile of rocks was a fox trap, a different style than I’d seen before but used to lure away foxes from the cave where the nest was cached. I’d thought it was another cache.
What's good about AG1 is also the fact about the Vitamin D& K2 which is needed in the winter months, due to less sun, which means less Vitamin D. Good run on the rivers!
Thanks a lot! It definitely was a big amount of additional work to make and dehydrate all that food myself, not to mention thin film it all. I thought doing so would make the “cooking” scenes (where I’ll I’m doing is adding hot water to dehydrated food), more engaging.
Hiya Jim & Ted, Oh My Days! That Fish, those Moose, Jim singing, Ted's cool hair, the wild beauty scenery!! Absolutely stunning & enjoyable, loved it boys. Thank-you Both❣️
I really think that as Canada gets more populated, over the next century or two, these videos will be showcased of the wild wonders that used to exist. Thanks for the awesome video as always.
Hey Jim n Ted Lovin, following your adventures 😊 don't know how you cope with the flies. stunning scenery enjoying every episode, guys can't wait for the nxt one thank you 😊❤
We need a Jim Baird Playlist! It's so interesting to think about moose or caribou bedding down in that open land- we always think about them in a treeline. So cool to see them out there
Hi guys lobe following your 20 day adventure, how on earth do you put up with all the flys. They would drive me insane. And i mean it insane. Its great seeing you to having adventures together just dont punch ted in the face. Slap him lol when he talks about the double paddle. 😂 Stay safe guys michael UK
I like the Thanksgiving dinner idea. Potato flakes/buds are one of my favorite foods. I wonder if the Lake Trout in Lake Superior might have been something like that 150 or 200 years ago. With the Smelt and the Lamprey decimating the population in the 50's and 60's it can't be what it once was. I hope I get to see some Char in the next vid. Thanks again for taking us on this once in a lifetime adventure.
@@JimBairdAdventurer I like the Scottish ditty while you waited on the beef stew to hydrate, and you can sprinkle in a few tunes to make cowboy coffee👍
I love your adventures trips! Looks like so much fun... But guys come on... Wear mosquito net hats! I could not do that, letting the bugs fly into my mouth, food and coffee everyday... yikes... Thanks for all the fun and hard work and for showing us these trips.
We do wear big jackets when they’re bad but I’d rather not put one on if I dint feel the need. You can’t eat through them / drink through them. I have also become pretty hardened to them over the years.
Thanks and ya, it was! Lard is my go to now, the only bad thing about it is that it’s harder to clean off your pan, especially if you let it cool at all.
Great adventure as always, love it. I won't be doing this anytime soon, too much tobacco and 73 so got you to watch for tripping Thank You boys! Oh yea are black flies and squitos considered protein or vegetable on your food scale?😉. You must be eating at least a 10 oz'r equivalent of bison meat vs the blacks and squtos!
Good that you brought an antibiotic along in case your finger cut gets infected. I had a similar situation while camping and it did get infected. I poured hydrogen peroxide on it a couple times a day for a few days and it cleared right up. Kept a bandaid on to keep it clean. That one fish you caught was a monster. The Thanksgiving dinner was pretty neat. Never saw that one before. I very much enjoyed the video. And we even got to see a cameo of Huddy!!
Ya, I hurt my danger out there but for cuts and potential infection it’s a good idea to for sure. Bad infection is rare but it can be really scary. I’m glad you liked the video and ya, Buddy made it in when I was making the beef stew!! The stew was good but I think I dehydrated it for too long.
Remains of a glacier at the 11 minute mark, in the remains of the cirque, at the footings of a long eroded mountain that calved all the boulders eons ago that are the bones in the river
That’s why I commented ,in a previous video,on Gordon lightfoot traveling the tundra with cliff jacobson, decades ago. I know Jim sings in a goofy /fun way , but he actually has a great cowboy voice and should come up with some adventure music.
Enjoying the whole series. What size food barrels are you two carrying? Are those 60 L? I think so along with the other gear by Recreatonal Barrel Works.
@@JimBairdAdventurer I've been looking at the owner's videos about those. I think I'll save up a few more pennies and get the complete system. Thanks for the reply, and for the great videos.

How is Teds canoe to paddle and portage to the one your using? Nice lake trout never caught one before. I had a large fish spool me in the Niagara river though! 😅 cheers
In the Niagara river that child have been anything! It’s worse for sure but lighter no proper carrying yoke though so he hast to lash paddles to the thwarts
Given that you are now beginning the Hood River stretch of the journey, what are the Vegas odd makers paying on Ted’s canoe surviving to the final destination ?!?!?
Jesus Jim, can't believe you joined the AG1 sponsership club, it's ridiculously expensive and I am disappointed, but I guess these trips have to be paid for 😢
My favorite part is Ted's constant bungling. That man can't stop bungling.
Best TH-cam content on all of the channels. Keep it up Jim, Ted and Tori.
Loving the video, especially Jim's singing . You just didn't sing long enough 🎶🎶🎶 ❤ Those black flies would finish me😵💫
Haha, thanks a lot and I’m glad you’re liking it! Ya, the flies are brutal to say the least

I like the explanation you added behind the sense of dehydrating food prep. Please make a backcountry cookbook; I would buy it for sure.
