I am an experienced driver just getting ready to start flatbed and I just wanted to say thank you. With your videos I already have an advantage for load securement training over other experience drivers who may not have done any research. I'll have you in mind every time I go to secure a load thanks again brother
I really enjoy your videos. I find them entertaining and informative. But, I feel I need to correct you on the use and application of Belly Wrap Straps. What you are showing is actually a Layer Strap method. A Bely Wrap strap completely encompasses the ENTIRE load from bottom to top and both sides and secures to winches on opposite sides of the trailer. It tightens the load into itself and pulls it downward to the trailer. You do this by "fishing" the strap across the bed (or having it laid out before loading) of the trailer then tossing the ends over to the opposite side for securement. In other words, drivers side strap end up and over to passenger side winch, then passenger side strap end up and over to driver side winch. You then tighten BOTH sides before you tighten your overall straps. Obviously this takes a 40' +/- strap with NO hook end. These can be purchased by any company or by yourself if you so choose by most load securement supply companies. An online search for such companies is pretty easy. When I'm hauling pipe or beams, I also use 2 Belly Wraps. I set them at points about 1/3 the length of the trailer. This ensures that the load will not shift and create problems down the road somewhere. Anyhow, keep up the great work and videos!
nice vid 1st time watcher & i subbed also too yeah 2 question's though if and when you can answer them 1. how do you stop the load from going forward or backwards ,? cas other day seen a vid on news were a load came though back of cab & may that person R.I.P. thats why i ask that 2. when you show the 1 side of strap it has a hook on other end was just flat how did you tie that off ? i'm guessing in a slip knot or a bow line knot thanks 4 sharing
1st question, by throwing 2 straps In the front and back, it prevents forward and backward motion. 2nd question is you tie it down thru a strap wench that is attached to the trailer. Hey watch my How to secure a PVC pipe load. in there I show the wench
a couple of reason. 1. being it keeps your straps from loosening going down the highway. 2. it keeps your straps from vibrating and causing possible damage to the freight.
What up LoShawn. I love your videos in fact I now have my cdl with Prime Inc. Just got it today. And yes I am joining the flatbed division. I am waiting TNT training. Any words of advise?
Any advise on how to get my CDL bcse my class A was suspended over 1 1/2 ago and now Prime denied me saying my driving record has to be clear over 3yrs. I've already got a owner operator that wants to hire me as soon as I get my CDL but I need to get my license
LoShawn hey man seen your truck today in Springfield at terminal question for you are they offering any 10 speeds or is everything automatic now thanks man was hoping to get to meet you

Wouldn’t chains be the best option for this Securement? Never thought that’s straps would be the one.
Which ever you are comfortable with
Great presentation once again.👍
Why not use chains?
nice video brother, very professional.
Thanks for the video great job.
1" x 4" x8' board also does the belly strap job done ,
great info. Tell them why you put a twist in it.
Great job

Good video man!!! We can't haul steel beams with straps at my company. We have to use chains.
good job, great video!!!
whats the importance of twisting the straps?
a couple of reason. 1. being it keeps your straps from loosening going down the highway. 2. it keeps your straps from vibrating and causing possible damage to the freight.
thank you

Why was it suspended. You should br able to get a clearance from your state DOT.
LoShawn hey man seen your truck today in Springfield at terminal question for you are they offering any 10 speeds or is everything automatic now thanks man was hoping to get to meet you
they do have 10 speeds available if you are getting a used truck, but all new trucks that are 2017 are going to be automatic
Hook should underneath the trailer not to rail.
Sideswipe accident breaks your securement.
Side rail on most trailers is not load rated
damn I haven't loaded no steel on a flatbed since last year but tarping is something else but hey do ya thang
visalia California
Jet fuel can't melt steel beams
💯💯💯
Great tutorial video loShawn. on the flip side the whiteys are upset. they say yall be condenscending lol
Also it's not a belly strap if it only goes over once.
belly strap
Why is every driver with maybe only 3 yrs experience at the most posting videos like they been doing this for 20yrs..
Still, get in wreck and you are sheik-ka-bob.
