Use as many bungees that it takes to hold down your tarps. Use 2-inch straps to keep your tarps from ballooning and pulling off the load. Newbies don't worry about looks right away; just keep it covered and dry. Practice and patience, nobody gets it right or perfect every time.
Can you tell me what style and dimension of tarp you used in this example? Length and whether or not it had flap on both ends, it appears it did but I only think that because both ends had the 3 rows of D rings from what I could see.
Just got a chance to use this technique. Thanks for the info. A couple adjustments I added for convenience. I used old bungie hooks on both ends of the rope. One for the grommet, and the other bungied to the end instead of tying off to a spool (after winding).
I've been a flatbedder for 10 years and I've never heard of this. Thank God you shared because I've destroyed some tarps thru the years on coils. I even broke down and bout a coil bag
As always really appreciate the knowledge and what YTTA does. Like he said ask questions most truckers have no problem in helping you especially the older ones. I know from experience
I have a small business repairing tarps. It’s nice to see someone securing the tarp good. I get so many these days that are unrepairable due to wind whip.
Great job! Nice and neat! The one thing that I like to do different is to put a strap over the front a few inches behind the grommets with maybe even a 2x4 to seal it a little better and keep out any salt dust or spray that can get onto fresh steel. This can be an issue when you load in the northern cold then head south and run into some heat and high humidity. Those tiny salt particles show up real quick!!!
Having just started doing hazmat hotshots and having to tarp for the first time I really admire nice tarp jobs going down the road now lol, and that was a beautiful tarp job
I do same except got new outdoor carpet on part of my patio so took 4 2x4’s and wrapped the 2x4’s and stapled it to them. So strap them across the front and back of tarp. And also haul steel and well pretty much anything but use harbor freight moving blankets over the front and back under the tarp to keep it from ripping in case something comes loose on tarp knock on wood haven’t had it happen yet but will sooner or later
I know its and older video, but does prime teach y'all to do that with your bungies/tarps? Most places I've seen always tell drivers never hook onto the tarps because they can ware holes into the tarp
Definitely a good looking tarp job! My question though, why not just pin the tarp closer to the product and fold the extra tarp up agaist it so there would not be a chance at alll of rain or snow getting on the product?
Good video! I am manufacturer of this rubber tarp straps, thanks for your video let us to know about our products. If you have any advice need for improvement and adjustment, give me feedback! Keep safe driving! And be careful that the straps break and hurt you.
Bungees do work on the corners! Rope is un attractive to me, but to each his own! An easier way to do it is,when you put your tarps on dont let your tarps fold all the way down ! Pin down all four corners then pull down the left and right sides of your tarps just enough to the bed of your trailer! Bullshit bungees aren't going to come loose! The remedy for the front and back of your tarps is to take 2 to 3 bungees to hold down the front and back from flapping in the wind that will eliminate water from getting to your coils or whatever you're hauling! I use a lot of bungees and my tarp jobs are tight and they don't flap in the wind! He did a pretty good job tarping!
Does "look like" it was balloon up from the air in the front though. Looks like you lost some of one side of your beard :-) :-) Delivering my first flatbed load. Ran Over 33 minutes on my 11 because of missing an exit :'(

Vid would be helpful
GREAT VID !!!
Interesting
You can take a strap and throw across the back and front where you have the tarp tied, that will keep virtually all the water out.
Loved this video.
thanks, and I been using lots of bungees
How do secure a tarp with the flap on it
The Bob Ross of tarping👍

😂 nice sunny day there try doing it in the rain and snow rope and sheets will be quicker a
I strap 2 by 4's on my ends instead of tying rope 2 hold down the tarp on the front and back. 2 each iz own.
How you strap the the 2x4 down
@@rodneyjohnson2064 lay the board down and strap the board down and the board will keep the tarp from moving cause the wind.
Looks good I like it! ;-)
Lol I hate tarps. Thanks for the video. !

Looks like work. Lol
Sorry couldn't get past the first 30 seconds because of the annoying noise.
Pretty good video you missed for being an idiot

Delivering my first flatbed load. Ran Over 33 minutes on my 11 because of missing an exit :'(
This is the reason they made bungie's. This is too much time spent..my opinion.
