Awesome comparison! You saved me from buying the JW knockoff, which wasn't that bad, but I want the best. How come the Philips didn't make the cut? It looks like a great option, especially for those that want a normal-looking headlight.
THANK GOD I CAME ACROSS THIS VIDEO! I just bought my first plow truck and it has crappy 4x6 halogen lights that are so bad, I can't drive in the dark. I was just about to pull the trigger on 2 different crappy ones that you reviewed. I think I'll just get the 4x6 housing and put my extra set of HID in them. THAAAANK YOU!!!

I love that you put this video out. I wish it was out when I needed to buy new headlights for my plow. I went through 3 sets before I got the z offroad ones, and I know they are cheap Chinese ones, but out in the real world I've had good luck with them on my plow out in the snow and everything. It has been a huge upgrade compared to the stock ones and even the stock halogens on my dodge ram. I prefer driving with them over my stocks by far!

I love Morimoto but a lot o me their beam patterns usually shallow. Their patterns are usually unique, which I do like. You definitely a great pair of fog/focus light down there.

Please make test all headlights for Peterbilt 379 tell about trux lights they have heater for winter time and also have retro style headlights, but I can’t find Beam pattern and brightness test, I am pretty sure a lot of truckers want to know which lights they can buy, All lights which you talking about usually not selling in the truck stops, and you don’t have any of the lights which usually saling in chrome shops...

Have you guys seen or reviewed the older Genssi sealed beams? There is a model that I've seen a few images of with what look like nice cutoffs and good hotspots even. Feel like it's a good middle ground, they're around $89 to $100 each.

I'm sorry Chris, but you had me sold on J.W. Speaker headlights years ago... I got a set for my 2000 XJ and love them 4 years later. My plan is to sell them this spring and get the newer heated version. J.W. Speaker is the only headlight I'll put on my Jeep.

I see that the SEALED4: MORIMOTO BI-LED (4X6) is the brightest and the best BUT…..how do they hold up in adverse weather conditions? The biggest downside of LED lighting is that they allow ice and snow to build up and cover the lenses making them useless. Do the Morimotos produce enough heat to avoid that? My Kenworth and I travel the PNW and the Midwest so this is sorta important. Thanks for your time.

13:51 You working for Morimoto and it shows...what the hell is that shadow in the middle and then some brighter light in the foreground, plus lots of shadows everywhere. This is very bad beam pattern and it should be barely pass. But considering the price, you are better off with stock and save for the JW/ Philips ones

Have you ever compared these to a European Hella 4x6 headlight housing with a halogen H4 bulb in them? Just curious on how the European beam pattern is compared to the US one, since we have quite specific rules on how the light needs to hit the road.
We have not tested against European headlights unfortunately.

Chris, as regards swapping out H4 and H1 bulbs in Bosch or Hella or Cibie 4X6's for replacement LEDs instead of using JW, etc do you have a video or, what are your thoughts there? I currently run JW Speaker heated on my KW up on the Alaska highway and am moderately satisfied, although not impressed.

I instinctively chose the one in the middle out of looks alone. Boy, did I get lucky! Is there a video on installing and what the plug with the three wires attaches to? Lights were easy and straight forward but instructions are confusing to a novice with no experience.

Is there anywhere that you test both of the Philips h4656 and the h4651 together? Im looking for lights for my 85 Chevy truck with separate high and low beams.

I’ve seen that multi-LED POS on a ton of vehicles as well. Amazon put them on all of their box vans. I see them on a bunch of death trap Jeep Cherokees as well (usually equipped with Amazon’s cheapest lift kit as well). They blind you when oncoming, but when you’re behind them, you can tell that they don’t light up the road at all. I really don’t understand why people put these on their car and leave them because they’re obviously worse than the original headlight.
I’m looking for a 4x6 led light that has a changeable bulb and led halo lights(preferably changeable colours). I’ve seen many but there are no reviews on them. Any recommendations?

Been using the 15 LED Cree lights for 3 years now in my 95 Chevy S10, I absolutely love them and they light down the road and both sides so we can see the deer. I would have thought your test on these would have been better.

Question: Since a lot of these lights are dual use (high and low beam), could for connect both modes together and have four low beams and four high beams on a big rig (two on each side)? That might actually give you a better pattern and more lux.

i have a 2006 colbot ss that takes 9007 leds in it and i need to know how to adjusted them the right way the low beam is just about point at the ground i have tried i know 20 times to get them right and the high beams is stell off i need help fixing them the right way

Not sure about 4x6 fog lights, most sealed beam headlights will only support low/high beam.

I just bought an Octane lighting 4x6 set for my 1987 Monte Carlo SS that are Modified sealed housings to take an H4 bulb. I like the 55w/60w bulbs they came with fine but, I can also just buy H4 LED's or HID's if i want to. And ill never have to take the housings out again if i dont want to i can just change the Bulb.

Fun fact: Founded in 1896, Tungsram is a subsidiary of GE who makes (rebadged) halogen and led sealed beams.
So the tungsram featured in the video isn't a blatant ripoff, it's a blatant rebadge.

Dont know if anyone cares but the feathered pattern in the beam is caused during the lens casting. Most lenses are injection molded and popped out on a conveyor where they get dropped into a bin and assembled with the rest of the light elsewhere. During the time they are on the conveyor, the light cools and can have warping from static electricity or pick up contiminants from the air, which causes the feathering. The correct process is to blow ionized air over the lens to neutralize the charged lens surface.

I just looked at pricing for these top 3 finishers and they’re pretty pricy at $200-$350 a piece. I know it’s a you get what you paid kinda thing for with the quality, but are there any cheaper 4x6” led options? My ‘85 Mustang needs four 😬
They are going to be fairly pricey for a good quality sealed beam housing... the cheaper models out there are cheap for a good reason, keep this in mind! If it were my mustang, I would go with no other option but the Holley Performance RetroBright LED headlights. These are sold in PAIRS so you'll get x2 housings for the price, not just ONE! Hopefully this helps, these are my favorite sealed beam housings out there currently! Really fits the OEM+ look you want on a classic and the performance is MOUNTAINS better than factory.

We can tell you now that the Auxbeam lights are no better than the other "junk" units we tested. Unfortunately.

$109.95 Sold By: LUMIWAY. For my old Winnebago. I would not recommend them the low pattern is so tall there is no way to properly adjust them but the high beams are too bright. The halo's are cool. I don't drive it much in the dark. Also the DOT/SAE ID markings are printed right near the corner so they are hidden under the bracket. I really do not believe there is any real third party certification or manufactures actually test to any specification.

The problem with the Philips is that it "doesn't work on older cars" per philips. They said anything older than like 2012 or so, they said. Worked on my turbo buick regal for a month or so and stopped working. They can't figure out why they won't work. But don't buy it for older vehicles.

Great video, so many led 4*6 and no any actual reviews for so many years. Im living in Ukraine, and problem simply to find any good 4*6, specially LED only total sh*t. Few years ago i bought trux t-led h's, they looks like stock but it was like lottery i didnt found any actual info how they are performing...

Only thing I really dont like aboutthe LED housings is most are polycarbonite lenses. Why cant we get glass lenses like the olde school sealed beams?
Glass is brittle and shatters easily. Poly is much better overall!
@@HeadlightRevolution shatters is you drop it on a rock maybe. ive seen glasse units creak and crack but never just shatter to peices.
Glass headlights are old tech, period.
The ONLY advantage of glass over poly is the natural scratch resistance but you can just add Lamin-X to the lenses of the poly lights to get that.
