Hey! That is a day to remember! I love the care you show with the fish handling. I may have to steal your net in the hole trick! Great video, getting me pumped for ice season
Yeah it sure was, Thanks dude 🙏! I highly recommend handling them like Ryan did!
How many ice fishermen are going to lose an eye leaning over their jawjackers like that….crazy
Probably quite a few lol
What kinda bait u using
Small white tubes. Ryan explains the setup later in the video.
Hi, where did you buy this white jig ? thanks
I believe it was purchased at Cabelas/Bass Pro shops.
Thanks
Did you get those pole alarms after this video? I use bells sometimes when I'm catfishing but I always take them off before I reel in the fish. They drive me nuts! Nice vid, bud, especially watching that fish in the shack take your bait!
Lol, I see he showed the alarms you got towards the end of the video! That's what I get for commenting before watching the whole video! :-)
Haha, thanks man!
Nice to see you spent all summer editing this video. lol. Those are some nice fish buddy. Can’t believe you kept this all summer.
Hahahaha, truth be told I had it uploaded since May but figured nobody would wanna see ice that time of the year 🤷🏻♂️😆!
Nice bow man! I can’t wait to get out and ice fish with my Aquavu for bows at a lake that has some brutes!
Thanks bud! Fishing with the Aquaview is a blast!
Loved the halftime show Darren. Nice day out on the hard water. Caught some big browns and rainbows. Those males have some nice colours. Well done fellas.
Haha thanks man
I love how you timed your publishing of this, well done man. Great to see you again, keep 'em coming!
Appreciate it man
Can't wait to get out on the ice myself man!
Yeah buddy
Havent had ice in qlmost 4 years here . Some. Ice fish youre pulling there bud.
Thanks man, sucks about the ice situation over there!
You always hammer them through the ice!!
Haha, I only show my good days😆
The fish you were calling rainbow trout are steelhead great video btw.
Thanks! But no these are definitely not steelhead, they are bred and hatched here in Manitoba from rainbow trout stock.
Cool no idea you can dead stick those for trout, jigging for sure though. You guys eat sucker😂, I hope you smoke it. I’d be eating trout…. Never caught a sucker through the ice.
It’s actually a very effective method. Lol and yes smoked sucker is surprisingly good!
Dang nice trout! But man it looks cold. :D
Thanks man, actually wasn’t so bad out that day temp wise.
Man unbelievable you guys got on the ice when there is barely 6 inches ice thick?
This was actually filmed in the spring when the ice was melting.
Can’t wait to get on the ice.... Otherwise great content my friend👌👌....
Thanks bud, I can’t wait as well!
Keeping suckers releasing trout? Hmmm first time seeing that
lol, first time for everything 😜
When was this video being recorded?😁😁
This was mid April 2020
Man you really have a good ice fishing videos man! Love the underwater footage absolutely amazing
Thanks bud!
Gorgeous fish guys!! You guys are crushing it!!! 👊💪 ~FAB~
Cheers 🙏
Can you let us know what shoes you wear for ice fishing, please?
I wear Baffin lace up boots. Very warm and great quality👍🏻
OMG, are you the voice of Earnie on Sesame Street? Great video sir!
Lmao, thanks!
why are you using a net on ice?
The net allows us to keep the fish in the water and healthy while we get ready for pics.
Nice fish bro
Thanks
how haven't I watched this yetttt
Haha, well now you have. Appreciate it man 🙏
What about open water ??
I haven’t tried there in open water yet🤷♂️
Great video and awesome handling techniques. Can’t wait to try these tips this winter
Thanks 🙏
Good luck out there!
excellent fish handling, except the fish in the net part.
Thanks a lot for the video!!! Subbed for the great info. Looking forward to watching more of your vids!!!
Awesome, thank you!
That blue tote trick is actually a really good idea. so often getting that perfect picture takes time and is so hard on the fish (especially when it's cold out). Defiantly gonna be trying it this upcoming ice season.
It really is!
Great video!
Cheers 🙏
Awesome video guys, y’all sure have some great looking fish up there! A nice brown like that is a dream fish of mine, hopefully I will catch a stud one day😂 Tight lines y’all !
Thanks bro! You should definitely go find some Browns, especially through the ice! Tightlines!
Here in California every tackle shop carries tubes in many different colors. They pretty popular out there. Known as mini jigs
We have them up here as well, just tough finding this specific brand.
I caught a monster sucker. About 5 pounds in local river. How do you eat them and are they boney like pike minnow? Thanks for the great video and PROFESSIONAL HANDLING
That’s awesome, always cool catching a big sucker.
Yeah they are pretty boney but you can fillet them is such a way that the bones aren’t a problem.
Bachelor food hahaha itll get you by and thats all that matters
lol
Wow it's so big fish thanks for sharing this video
Thanks for visiting
Great fish. I'm so stoked for ice fishing season. That underwater Sucker catch was awesome
Thanks dude! Haha yeah rewatching this video has me all fired up for winter!
Please tell me more about the white tube jig you favor. Thanks! Luv your vids.
Standard 1inch white tube sitting horizontal. They work wonders, did the trick for me again today.
Nice fish handling tyvm good job
Thanks 🙏
Awesome video and fish my friend 👍
Cheers John🙏
How thick’s the ice now man?
Not much ice yet due to unseasonably warm weather but it should happen pretty quick now!
Wait a minute,it's not time yet I told myself...lol ya got me with this one! Ha ha 👍😊
Haha
That was an awesome first catch in the video! Beautiful fish bro
Yeah I was pretty pumped about that one! Cheers🙏
Dude absolutely beautiful fish man! And gotta love the jaw jackers bro! Well done dude. I needed a new video from you
Thanks bro! You should try the Jaw Jacker this winter 🤔
@@darrensnorthernlife1184 i have used them last year when me and my buddy got all those bass..... freakin love em
@@jagfishing836 ah yes, forgot about that!
Love the emphasis on keeping the fish healthy. Great vid!
Thanks bud! Yeah I was very happy that Ryan gave that little tutorial on healthy handling practices.
Hope to fly fish there someday in the fall. Keep releasing them please 😜
Will do haha
Very cool, thanks for sharing how you catch them.
Cheers
What brand are those pole holders !!??
JawJacker brand
Love the safe handling/release explanation!
Glad it was helpful!
I think I had a minor heart attack on tha last one.
So did I 😂
Awesome fish guys
Thanks 🙏
7:00 well done
Thanks my dude!
Monsters!!!!!
Yeah buddy 👍
Respect on the fish handling and calling out those who
Aren’t so thoughtful
Good
Job
Thanks
only net a fish if you plan on keeping it.
Heading there tomorrow
Good luck bud 👍
Good man and good video💯🤙🏽
Cheers
Hey sweet video, heading up to Patterson next month. how deep would you recommend to be?
Thanks. Shallow is always good for trout, especially later in the winter. I’d drop a Jawjacker in shallow (3-4 feet) and another past the ledge. And then fish between them.
Awesome, thanks for the tip appreciate it
@@brandensteffenson2609 no problem, good luck 👍
Great video Darren
Thanks 🙏
I had one good day like that on patty early March and many other frustrating days till Ice out. Caught a tanker 25” brown. Definitely stealing that net trick for fishing alone it’s tough to keep them wet and get a decent picture
Yeah Patty can be frustrating, congrats on the 25” though!
Good luck this winter, maybe I’ll see you out there!
I might be there lots my home lake sucks on a good day (oak) and has super low water this year
Ah man, that sucks!
My jaw jacker missed every bite yesterday, any tips?
Hmmm, what bait/presentation were you using?
@@darrensnorthernlife1184 it was a jighead with a trout magnet and mealworm. It got bites, it just never set the hook for me.
@@tristendunn1808 I’m guessing the little trigger mechanism was frozen up, that has happened to me before.
Do you use any trout dough or anything on your 1” tubes?
Nope, just sitting perfectly horizontal about 16 to 20 inches off the bottom.
You could add a little flavour paste but it’s not necessary in my experience. This presentation mimics a small baitfish so scent has very little to do with it.
@@darrensnorthernlife1184 ok thanks going to try this lake hopefully this year for first Brown. Heard it can be tough fishing. What knot do you use for the horizontal display?
@@DB-FISHING I believe we were using a palomar knot but most will work.
Good luck out there👍
