Hi, thanks for the video, informative. Before I buy a replacement main control board, how do I make sure that is my problem? Right now, the freezer and fridge seem to be working properly, the icemaker and it's controls do not light up or work and the freezer light is not coming on. When I unplug the fridge and plug it back in, the dispenser controls light up for a moment and then go back out. Do you think it's the main control board? or one of the dispenser boards? Thank you so much for your help.
It sounds like it is probably a bad main control board, especially with how it comes back on when you unplug it and plug it back in. These can be difficult to diagnose and troubleshoot. There most likely isn't an easy way to narrow down which part is bad. You could also check the wiring coming out of the door to look for any broken wires.
I saw a video on TH-cam of a Firmware Update device that can connect with the refrigerator over bluetooth to do updates. Have you seen this before? Do you or your team know where I can purchase that?
I’m replacing the control board on my GE refrigerator GFE28GSKHSS because the fresh food (fridge) section won’t hold a consistent temperature. I already tested and replaced the FF thermistors. Fan and defrost both work fine. Freezer temp is good and all door controls work fine. In diagnostic mode, code 0025 can't determine FF2 thermistor temperature. 0024 and 0026 report valid thermistor temperatures. Guessing it's a board issue. The replacement board is WR55X38248 (since WR55X28076 is discontinued). After connecting the new board, I get a green flashing light on the board (good). However, on the door panel I get a Red ! Triangle. The fridge lights don’t come on when I open the door. Fridge is not running. With the old board, the door panel works fine. Fridge lights work fine. I’ve unplugged the board and double checked all connections. I’ve powered the fridge off/on. If I reinstall the original board, the door panel, lights and fridge work again. Any ideas?
That was it! I received the replacement board yesterday. Plugged it in and the door controls, lights and fridge are all working great. Fridge has been holding a consistent temperature for a day. I think my problem is solved! Thanks for the help!

Do you have to re-program after replacing the control board?
No, these boards come pre-programmed and they are ready to go after installation.

Is there any way to up date main board with a laptop? Mine is a GFE28GELEDS which dies have a RJ45 connector on top.
We are not aware of a way to update the main control board with a laptop.
