BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING!!...We had a power outage and My GE side by side compressor wouldn't work and the panel lights were off. The interior lights worked fine. I was fed up with fixing it and ordered a small freezer to store frozen meats etc.
The next day, 24 hpurs later, the refrigerator came back on, compressor running and panel lights on. It had reset itself apparently and it took 24 hours. I read where another GE refrig owner said it took 12 hours to reset. So, before you do anything, unplug it for a minute, re-plug and wait 24 hours. It may be less time than that.. PS..The tutorial video was excellent.😀😀😀 Thank you..

Thanks for sharing this helpful tip! I'm glad the fridge came back to life. I’ve read about a reset and tried that. But, never heard about the 24 hours thing. Good money-saving info for folks to try. All about saving $$$!

YOU ARE A GODSEND❣️ I'm a single parent mother with no family or relatives alive to help me in times of crises. I rely solely on myself and TH-cam videos. YOUR VIDEO WAS THE MOST HELPFUL OUT OF ALL THE ONES I RESEARCHED. I've already subscribed to your account. THANK YOU THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU AND KEEP MAKING YOUR VIDEOS BECAUSE THEY ARE LITERALLY SAVING LIVES❣️❣️❣️🙏🙏🙏 I've been without a fridge for a week due to troubleshooting and waiting for the control board to come in. We are now celebrating a working fridge instead of having to buy a whole new one during this inflation. What a wonderful Valentine's Day present to myself. 🥰

I’m a beginner, no expert. But, the appliance shop gave me a valuable tip! Look at the back of the board for a small burn mark. That’ll help identify which board needs replacing. Look at how tiny my burn spot was in my video. I’d check both the main circuit board and the display one for a burn mark (with power off obviously).

In our part of the world here in Africa when the pc board gets damaged its buy a new fridge.
There are shops everywhere here selling these fancy No Frost fridges but not one supplier with pc boards.
    Nice hey !

That black thing is a "capacitor" and the white square box that it's attached to is called a" start relay "
This is not me being a know it all just trying to save people having this issue some time looking up what the name of the part in this video 🙂

JUST FOR YOUR INFO LOOK UP WHAT A 3-N-ONE START RELAY IS. THEY ARE SOLID STATE AND NEVER HAD A CALL BACK ON A FAILED ONE IN OVER 45 YEARS. SUPCO IS ONE BRAND. MANUFACTURES DON'T USE THEM CAUSE THEY DONT FAIL

You should really use a meter

Guess I need to put that onto my “learn” list. Thank you for the suggestion.

LoL the video is excellent and very thorough. Sometimes you just got to use what you got whether that's with a meter or not hahA@@DiyHer
