      Nope, the first guy noticing you wowing around a laser will recommend you for not prolonging your working contract.
      Ever noticed why most scientists seem to be rather reserved people? You will find out why.
      For example you have Wikipedia, you know that yag lasers like this produce a lot ozone and you can read what ozone does to your body. Yet you choose to ignore it and fire one up in a closed room.
      You can read about the reflection of UV radiation on metal surfaces, such as soda cans, yet you ignore it and fire one at a cylindrical shape to make sure it hits everyone in the room.
      Science is a small club and you can pay for an PhD without getting an invitation. And do not think working as a postgraduate disproves that, everyone gets a positive feedback while offering cheap labor with no benefits.
      Change and start doing your research. Also delete these videos before you apply for jobs in companies, they are a reason to not let you go near an industrial lab, seriously. Best of luck.

    Ooh.... If it's strong enough to ionize air, pulsing it through a suitably strong electrical field ought to initiate a discharge along its path in the same way that dropping a wire filament into the field would.
    Congrats on your 0.2 M subs!

  • @jlo13800
    @jlo13800 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    At the focus there is a high electric field in the beam, this could induce high pulsed voltage in a copper or stainless steel plate.

    Could you possibly put a laser on a *flying* drone?

    • @The6double
      @The6double 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +speedy hedgehog The biggest issue would probably be getting enough batteries on a drone to power a good laser while keeping it light enough to still fly. That and focusing the beam would be difficult with the source moving around constantly.

    • @mamoose91
      @mamoose91 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +The6double with all the GPS technology out there on these drones I'm sure he would just have to mount the laser where the camera is typically stabilized. just a thought.

    • @The6double
      @The6double 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +mamoose91 True, especially with camera stabilization technology being what it is today. The biggest problem would then be having enough power stored upon the drone.

    • @unspokendg
      @unspokendg 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      The power needed and the divergence of the laser are the some of the limiting factors. Also it would take to long to kill someone with it any ways. A bullet takes a second while this would have to burn through skin, flesh, and bones. Plus to combat it soldiers would only have to reflective enough material to bounce it back.

    • @ARCSTREAMS
      @ARCSTREAMS 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@EXYZ3 the beam is simply diffracting off the smoke particles it is not actually ionizing them nor the air not in a whole beam section that would make it megawatts of power to do that so this laser is not invisible , sometimes if you focus the beam in the air it may be intense enough to lase or ionize the nitrogen present in the air and you would see what you are talking about but the whole beam here is visible so either it is a very powerful laser or a visible one but most likely this is light from the flash lamp as part of it also emerges as a beam from the cavity
