The characters are actual persons with problems and troubles and changes and moods, so it really progresses dynamically. Even silky has her story. As for the auction she was bought in, it is like black market somewhat. @minor nitpicks, I know you're taking it for the jokes mostly, but a few are slight mistranslations. For example she says "he's so hard to read because of that bony head". But overall the translation looks okay. BEST MASSAGIST EVERRRRR lets goooo!!!! HE DEFINITELY DOESN'T LOOK LIKE A YUGO. The details are really so adorable x3333 Fluorite is a name of a crystal. They are beautiful. Church is always seen at least mildly badly on anime. I kind of agree, do you think christians would treat real witches or mages well? They explain it briefly later. Also, I feel they take from Irish lore a lot, where they are fae, and britain, and such, and they did wage a cultural [and otherwise, AFAIK?] war against local paganism. I'm glad you liked it! It really picks up from here onwards :3
I always though Artificers were weird cause we already had the wizard that supposedly had the scientist archetype into it and i thought that Artificer were kinda unnecesary. goog reaction though, i like your analysis. (:-D)
*(Not blatant spoilers but implies, read at your discretion!)* Chise has probably the development I enjoyed the most in the show, while it does take a while (or rather so, feels gradual, so you might not notice right away) She gets to talk more often, and decides most of the things on her own... I think that's what I liked the most, I was afraid she'd never have any say on the stuff that happens (specially the romantic part), but some of the stuff is DUE her starting the move. I feel she even has that strong kind of lead/drive or determination, but it was so so fucked and shut down from her past and life that was being awful up until that point, I feel she didn't even knew until she got an opportunity to breath and develop. **(Now ACTUAL spoilers, don't read.)** ---------------------------------------------------------------- I was weary of their relationship at first, but I came to love how it's a mutual understanding and learning experience for them both. It feels equal, cause they offer different things to each other. And most importantly, it's not forced. Chise wasn't FORCED to love him, even Elias said he *hoped*, not that she *was* going to be her bride. And the poor dude barely understood what a bride actually meant to humans too, so he didn't have this perverted plan of making her fall in love. The only plan for him was "I want to learn human feelings, what they mean" Which is pretty innocent in nature, like a child's wonder. She was the one who made her choice at the end, and even then it's less of an actual wedding and more of a play, with some hidden "Although I do wish to walk alongside you, this is my confirmation." They're both emotionally stunted in a way, one for depression (and by consequence not a lot of social life), the other for a lack of understanding. (and with VERY little social life human-wise) And even if they weren't, people always clash (if you're being honest with your partner) I feel that's how most relationships are, they aren't gonna be pretty nor prefect, at ALL. And they'll keep fucking up a LOT til who knows how long, but they try to improve for the sake of them both, and for the other, learning. Or at the very least, discussing such events. Cause if you love someone, you will *care* of looking way past the pride fest or who's right, even if you sin of such momentarily, cause you want to stay along their side still, for who they are. sorry for the bible, I just really enjoyed this anime, despite it's not for everyone or its faults. It gave me lovely moments and reflections.
