5:36 To answer your question: If I were Pomni and having gone through the abstracted Kaufmo, the Tanker deal with Gummigoo exploding, and the haunted mansion: a "normal" 8-5 is preferable.
true. these are literally normal people who were forced into a cartoon-like world. but at the same time, those who’ve been there for years might feel a bit weird with the normality of the adventure. they’ve been in cartoon world for years and haven’t experienced anything normal the entire time. a normal fast food job nearly made gangle abstract and made jax quiet. pomni was the least affected since she’s the newest here and hasn’t even been there for a year.

Why is everyone so upset and surprised when Jax acts like an asshole? Like, I'm pretty sure it's been well established at this point that he's an asshole 🤨
Considering the Digital Circus is a game, I'm afraid there's no way Gummigoo remembers, because that isn't the same Gummigoo. Every time you load an NPC in a game, it's a new instance of that object. Since he was created to be a basic enemy, the game wouldn't waste processing power cacheing his memory after he was despawned. The Gummigoo we see here shares the previous one's AI, but it's otherwise a separate entity. His reaction is more-so because it's very clear SHE remembers him, and he's not sure what that means or how to feel about it.
You forgot though that its all supposed to be AI. Whos to say the inputs and outputs weren't saved to a script for the character? They may not be able to surface it themselves, but the right inputs can bring out previous interactions in an AI or Machine learning model.
@@silvydbespecially since the Circus definitely isn’t optimized. Since this adventure was spontaneous and not planned, Caine reused a lot of NPCs and assets cause he didn’t preload them and drew blanks But if it was prolly a setting that required a backstory input into the NPCs and not “generic customer” there’s a huge chance the circus would load up their last recorded setting.
26:48 "Pomni is a Stress Ball" To be fair, she goes through quite a bit. That said, thats more of Ragatha's thing. Pomni is a Jester, so what she does is "humor" the other peopl.
This episode is by far my favorite because it was so deep and so sad. Gangle is my favorite character in the show. Watching her go through bipolar is so upsetting. It made me love her more.
"Who would ever fucking choose that to be their adventure?!" You forget, simulator games exist... I've asked that question, more or less, whenever I see a farming simulating game or a train simulating game. Like, who asked for this?! 😆 After all the crap Jax did to Gangle, I'd say he deserves this. I don't judge. If there's a toy from a series I like, I go for the happy meal, too. This is why, during my current employment for 16+ years at GameStop, I never go for the managerial position. 😄
Anyone else have the assumption that this might be what Jax’s normal life was like which is why he actually seems to enjoy the craziness and mayhem of the circus?
I just realized we got so much more lore than we realize. In the trainign video, she talked about thinking about being realistic about a dream of being an anime inspired webcomic maker. At the end, we saw her drawing some type of anime style character...Was her dream to be a webcomic maker and yet was told by the people around her to be realistic about her goals?
Gangles stuff is really interesting in this episode but I also feel like we got alot of insight in Jax. We see then when he's forced into this 9 - 5 type of job he just... Slogs through it. I suspect he really is a fast food worker irl and while for everyone else the circus is a prison, for Jax it's his escape. You can do ANYTHING in the circus without any real long lasting side effects or consequences so when being put into this situation where there WILL be consequences as well as what's likely a familiar environment for him, he regressed into his pre-circus self to some extent.
i dont judge one bit on the happy meal thing. was looking after my baby brother once and as they were screaming and crying, trying to scratch me because i wouldnt let them play with the christmas tree we had put up that was no longer behind a baby gate (cause he can climb that shit). i called my mom asking how do i calm him down cause i was two minutes from punting him (shes at work) and she says more likely hes just scared that shes not around and to just hug him. HUG. HIM. maybe that works for her but i was running out of patience FAST. especially since i was running on 5 hours of sleep cause i had to get up early so she and my step dad can go to work. the moment she came back i walked up to my room and ordered £25 worth of food from just eat. and one of those items was a happy meal. honestly it was pointless and a waste of money. but it made the day just a little bit better.
I think Gummigoo remembers, but is choosing to stay as an "NPC" because he's trying to accept his reality and be happy with what he has. It's pretty tragic but probably the healthiest path he could take, considering...
15:32 Seeing Gummigoo's reaction gave me the impression that, while he didn't remember her, for her to know his name and act the she did around him, she CLEARLY knew him, and he wanted to find out what made the nice little clown girl sound so sad.
I think it was a really well done metaphor having Gangle hit by that truck. She just got a burst of emotion, was figuring out a part of herself. And then moments later, life comes and hits her "like a truck" right back to the same BS.
I actually work in the FAST FOOD business! I work at a Culver’s, and it just so happens to be the number one (rated) location in Northeast Wisconsin! All ingredients are farm fresh, freshly made, AND HOME GROWN state wide. (There’s also Fresh Frozen Custard on our menu, with a daily “flavor of the day”. We also serve pints that you can just pop into the freezer!). If it’s your first time going to one though, I’d recommend you find a highly rated location, even if it’s in another state. (They apparently exist all over America).
Fast food! I was excited to see your reaction to this episode, knowing that you own a restaurant. I love how you cheered when Gangle got rid of the happy mask, it was nice seeing her truly happy for once. The ending hit hard. I feel like the "hit by a truck" part is like how people say "reality hits like a truck". At some point, you can't deny reality anymore and it comes crashing down on you, and find that you messed up and hurt your friends. I felt that. And also Zooble saying "I'm sure we'll find something that works eventually." felt very encouraging to me too.
As someone who used to work at a Subway, I can say I came to really hate the phrase, "Time to lean, time to clean." There were times where all work was caught up, but the manager still rode us to keep busy.
I said my piece about this episode on the original so imma say this. I like that along with fleshing out the characters more than the previous episodes We also gained a lot of new Theories involving the characters as well, specifically with Gangle, Ragatha and Jax. Most obvious one being the implication of Gangle being important at one point while working at the company and (the one that gets glossed over the most) Jax maybe having personal knowledge involving Caine’s AI. (Scoffing at the idea of Caine being malicious saying it’s not in his nature) Like maybe like Kinger Jax was a person that had a hands on involvement in The circus’s creation.
Code word is fast foooooood! So, Alicia, I’m still pulling for Angel Hare! It’s good shit! Analog Horror with less horror and more emotions. I think you’ll like it! Hopefully!
It took me several rewatches, but there are two moments when Gummigoo recognizes and might know what's happening. First when Pomni says his name and reaches out to her, and again when she stops him and says goodbye, and he makes the "let me out or else" sort of eye movement. Dammit.
As someone who has worked retail and has friends in catering and the food industry, I'd actually take the haunted mansion adventure over either of those jobs again
Am I the only one who genuinely asked whether or not Gangle was gonna abstract this episode? Zooble may have said Kinger was most likely, but I think they’re giving Gangle too much credit.
watching this video as a food service worker triggered my vietnam flashbacks, seeing ragatha lying down on those fucking non slip mats got a VISCERAL reaction from me
it was so relatable for anyone who used to work in a fast food restaurant and it made them get stressed out or ptsd after experiencing the most frustrating day to day life at work
Pomni saying goodbye to gummigoo is supposedly a metaphor for letting go. she's literally saying "goodbye" to Gummigoo as a character and a friend. It's extremely unlikely that Gummigoo will ever appear in the series again.
This episode honestly turned Gangle into the most relatable character tbh Having dreams, but no hope of ever achieving them is *painful* And the idea of literally and metaphorically wearing a mask to hide how depressed & exhausted you feel 24/7 until you finally crack hits insanely close to home...
Plus Happy Meals are so much cheaper. It’s 10-13 bucks to get a burger, fry, and drink for adult meals. Still overpriced but manageable and less calories.
If they had a Suggestion box, why didn’t they put “we have a relaxing spa day we’re nothing goes wrong” in the box over and over again? If you’re gonna be trapped here forever you might as well make it a relaxing purgatory
Because this episode was about gangle, her throwing the mask away represented her quitting her job and when she got hit by the car that represented when/how she entered the Digital Circus.
I don't got bipolar but I have had moments of mania before. So the "You're getting three more seasons!" manic episode joke made me giggle. I love it when the jokes are clearly written by someone that's going through it. Another lil detail I like is Gummigoo reacting to Pomni saying his name. Since this Gummigoo never told her his name. I like to think Gummi does remember her, but he's stuck following a script as an npc. But that's just me being a teensy bit hopeful. Also the Halloween 3 reference, always fun to see folks reference that classic.
Why does everyone think Gummiegoo remembered after Pomni said his name? The look on his face was probably him finding it weird that this weird jester girl knows his name.
A weird realization, So Caine is probably on a 24 hour timer to initiate a :"daily adventure" but we've not gotten a feeling for how long the adventures normally take, the last three didn't seem like they actually lasted much longer than what we saw on screen, just minus maybe some travel time. But this one, this wasn't a *reach a goal, adventure over and the do whatever you want until next one*, no, this was like a 12 hour requirement adventure. They did all three shifts, breakfast, lunch, and dinner shifts, with a few of them required to stay for the closing. I imagine if Gangle'd hadn't gotten Caine to put the punishment consequence in there that Jax might have like three or four hours in lost it and burned down the building just to end the adventure.
Deleted data is marked as 'free space' that can be overwritten later, but is still technically there. I don't know if that will come up as a thing for the show but it's true for computing. Not mentioning redundancies, back-up data and other such things.
I feel like Gangle was seconds away from abstracting if it hadn’t been for Pomni being there. Her depression was hitting a breaking point, but Pomni giving her the ok to leave and go back to her usual mask took just enough of that pressure off that she could still be “her”.
What an episode. They just keep knocking it out of the park with these. One thing that's interesting to note is the difference between Jax's apathy to Caine versus Zooble's compliant attitude in this episode. Now, Zooble had the therapy session with Caine last episode, so it knows that the circus's integrity depends on Caine's sanity, which is tied to how much the troupe seems to enjoy his adventures; and I'm sure Jax knows none of that. But beyond that, while Jax is a massive jerk and tends to mess around on the adventures, he still goes along with them quite willingly. So unless he goes just a bit too far with his behavior, Caine has no reason to get on him. So Jax, as far as he knows, has nothing to fear. Zooble, meanwhile, if the episodes we have are an indicator, tends to avoid partaking in adventures and just does its own thing. And that refusal had reached a point where Caine felt the need to discuss the matter (episode 3) then finally just lost his patience (this episode). Zooble knows it's on the edge with Caine, so it's playing careful this time.
5:36 To answer your question: If I were Pomni and having gone through the abstracted Kaufmo, the Tanker deal with Gummigoo exploding, and the haunted mansion: a "normal" 8-5 is preferable.

The part where gangle felt freedom for the first time in forever made me cry with joy i relate to gangle the most cause i struggle with depression and putting on a facade shes offically my favorite character i love her so much and i hope we get more momments were she feels free cause it made me feel so happy
Sucks but is so realistic that as soon as she felt free, life came in and hit her like a truck.
Ah, fast food. The place we all go to even though everything could turn into a literal hell
Fast Food
21:10 Nobody expects the Halloween III: Season Of The Witch reference!
Love the Halloween 3 and Lighthouse references. Made me cackle. 😂
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that. Silver Shamrock!
Happy, Happy Halloween
318 days til Halloween, Halloween, Halloween.
318 days til Halloween.
Silver Shamrock.
There is absolutely no proof but i choose to believe Ragatha talking about how Pomni is flirting with Gummigoo instead spending time with time before saying she wishes somebody would flirt with her is her saying she wants to flirt with her
I will refuse to accept any alternative
It was definitely the Raggedy Ann & Andy and the Halloween 3 references that caught me off guard the first time.
Those were hilarious.
Jax, the abusive one LMAO
Why is everyone so upset and surprised when Jax acts like an asshole? Like, I'm pretty sure it's been well established at this point that he's an asshole 🤨
We're not and we hate him for it@@TrackpadProductions
@@LitbolbI love him for it. Let's be honest if nothing we did had any consequences for YEARS. We would do the same shit
@@LitbolbThen he was written properly
Since this adventure was spontaneous and not planned, Caine reused a lot of NPCs and assets cause he didn’t preload them and drew blanks
But if it was prolly a setting that required a backstory input into the NPCs and not “generic customer” there’s a huge chance the circus would load up their last recorded setting.
26:48
"Pomni is a Stress Ball"
To be fair, she goes through quite a bit. That said, thats more of Ragatha's thing.
Pomni is a Jester, so what she does is "humor" the other peopl.
I wonder how many people caught Kingler getting an A+ for working in the rodeo.
22:21 Ragatha's line here is a direct quote from the 1977 movie "Raggedy Ann and Andy: A Musical Adventure".
I've also spent a pretty penny on Digital Circus merch. Specifically a lot of Pomni stuff cause I love the neurotic and awkward jester.
Fast food.
After all the crap Jax did to Gangle, I'd say he deserves this.
I don't judge. If there's a toy from a series I like, I go for the happy meal, too.
This is why, during my current employment for 16+ years at GameStop, I never go for the managerial position. 😄
My mom worked at fast food when she was 15. Must have been crazy.
Anyone else have the assumption that this might be what Jax’s normal life was like which is why he actually seems to enjoy the craziness and mayhem of the circus?
Considering he is the youngest
I just realized we got so much more lore than we realize. In the trainign video, she talked about thinking about being realistic about a dream of being an anime inspired webcomic maker. At the end, we saw her drawing some type of anime style character...Was her dream to be a webcomic maker and yet was told by the people around her to be realistic about her goals?
Yeah
I just realized Gummigoo lives in a world where you can meet a tiny jester with a round head & giant eyes & be unsure whether you've met her before.
My favourite “fast food” restaurant is either KFC or McDonald’s (also in the German dub the 3 gloinks are called Uzi, V and Cyn)
I just remembered that before episode 2 they showed an unfinished baseball stadium. Ragatha was teaching Gangle how to play softball.
As someone who has worked in retail since 2001: ouch. I've worked with every one of these people, and dealt with every one of those customers.
i dont judge one bit on the happy meal thing. was looking after my baby brother once and as they were screaming and crying, trying to scratch me because i wouldnt let them play with the christmas tree we had put up that was no longer behind a baby gate (cause he can climb that shit). i called my mom asking how do i calm him down cause i was two minutes from punting him (shes at work) and she says more likely hes just scared that shes not around and to just hug him. HUG. HIM. maybe that works for her but i was running out of patience FAST. especially since i was running on 5 hours of sleep cause i had to get up early so she and my step dad can go to work. the moment she came back i walked up to my room and ordered £25 worth of food from just eat. and one of those items was a happy meal. honestly it was pointless and a waste of money. but it made the day just a little bit better.
29:00 a few seconds from abstracting, that’s scary.
I think it was a really well done metaphor having Gangle hit by that truck. She just got a burst of emotion, was figuring out a part of herself. And then moments later, life comes and hits her "like a truck" right back to the same BS.
Such an emotional episode dude, such a simple setting yet charged with emotions
I actually work in the FAST FOOD business! I work at a Culver’s, and it just so happens to be the number one (rated) location in Northeast Wisconsin! All ingredients are farm fresh, freshly made, AND HOME GROWN state wide. (There’s also Fresh Frozen Custard on our menu, with a daily “flavor of the day”. We also serve pints that you can just pop into the freezer!).
If it’s your first time going to one though, I’d recommend you find a highly rated location, even if it’s in another state. (They apparently exist all over America).
Are you being paid to advertise? I've never seen anyone hype up a place they work at. 😆
Fun fact about the three Gloinks at 17:12, in the German dub, their names are Uzi, V, and Cyn.
WHAT?? FOR REAL??
@@scaleofperspective6211 Yep!
Damn the guy who runs my ads is an asshole, as soon as you said “But we had a heartfelt moment!” An ad cut you off saying “Who cares” 😭
As someone who used to work at a Subway, I can say I came to really hate the phrase, "Time to lean, time to clean." There were times where all work was caught up, but the manager still rode us to keep busy.
5:25 FR! They could've chosen something like "a peaceful day at the beach" or something, but NOPE! Gangle went with "minimum wage simulator" lol
Hopefully!
8:51 The most relatable bar ever dropped on the show
During Caine's glitch freakout at the end, he morphs into a popular tadc meme from a low budget live action podcast
7:11 I feel Alicia needs that button to deal with some of her chatters
I just quit my fast food job of 5 years about 2 months ago. This episode genuinely gave me PTSD lmao
11:28 She really wanted to yell "KAREN!?" but didn't.... 😭
12:54 *My sweet boy, is alive.*
14:50 "She is flirting with a costumer." The best quote in the episode.
watching this video as a food service worker triggered my vietnam flashbacks, seeing ragatha lying down on those fucking non slip mats got a VISCERAL reaction from me
Alicea, your little OC is sooooo cute!!!!💜💜💜💜💜
this seems like one of their more serious episodes especially with gangle and her mask
No way I’m the only one who picked up on the gummy croc mentioning getting an adult toy!!!
it was so relatable for anyone who used to work in a fast food restaurant and it made them get stressed out or ptsd after experiencing the most frustrating day to day life at work
Pomni saying goodbye to gummigoo is supposedly a metaphor for letting go. she's literally saying "goodbye" to Gummigoo as a character and a friend. It's extremely unlikely that Gummigoo will ever appear in the series again.
I know its a cartoon universe but everyone keeps touching the ground and we don't see them wash their hands once;
Jax always proves why he’s the best(imo) and the funniest(other than Caine)…
This Episode for me…gets a 7/10 3rd Place 🥉
Nice reaction btw
This episode honestly turned Gangle into the most relatable character tbh
Having dreams, but no hope of ever achieving them is *painful*
And the idea of literally and metaphorically wearing a mask to hide how depressed & exhausted you feel 24/7 until you finally crack hits insanely close to home...
Fun fact at 17:12, in the german dub the "kids" names are Cyn, Uzi and V :3
I mean if your trapped in a world of exotic adventures having a day of mundane can be good to balance out the craziness.
Amazing how many people mistake Gumigoo's disgust as remembering. He was just weirded out by the potential stalker that was acting Yandere to him.
I endured 4 years of restaurant managing before quitting forever, now I draw for a living, less pay but at least my life is my own
I’m a little new to this channel and it’s a pleasure seeing you react to arguably one of the best episodes so far.
My biggest hear me out may be gangle I fear, gangle my bolved.
At least jax wasn't wearing a mask and died with spiders and snakes coming out of his head from watching that.
Never before has Jax has been so relatable as he was this episode
Ya I also feel like Gummy-goo remembers her after she said his name.
No one should judge you for getting a happy meal, it’s your money to spend how you want.
I often times just buy the toy.
Plus Happy Meals are so much cheaper. It’s 10-13 bucks to get a burger, fry, and drink for adult meals. Still overpriced but manageable and less calories.
It's episodes like this, and comments from the Reactors and Community, that I'm glad I never worked in Fast Food.
I worked in Bar & Gaming 🙂
gummigoo be like "as a large language model, I am not programmed to remember that I'm not real"
13:33
The level of trauma she's going through must be-
Did he say an adult toy?
... Uhhh....
Breakfast.
8:05 you lost your mind didn't you
Fact is...
I'm not as happy I'm actin'!
That's what the mask is!
That's what the point of the mask is!
1:27 SHEESH, JAX!!!
Despite it seeming to be an actual accident, I notice he never actually says Sorry.
