I love Marvel Triple Action, which started w 1st reprints of classic FF Doom-Surfer story from #55-60. The new COVERS will drive price in the future, with #2 having an all-time classic Dr.Doom cover that is super tough-to-find in HG.
Marvel Teamup had all-new Spiderman atories and art, so its on a whole, nother, level. Single-digit MTU is a steal right now, especially #1-4.

The marvel comic annual issues tend to suffer from the spine and many have dog ends spines split from the binding edges.

In my searching in 1970s and 1980s prior to comic shops. got enjoyment to find a lot of books I never thought would be so sought after... Two Star Wars #1 35 cent covers bought by a serviceman in California test market and area and found their way to north Louisiana where I lived...multiple Avengers, DD, and X-Men #1 s, multiples of 1968 Marvel title expansions, early silver age DC runs , 15 copies of X-Men 94 for cover price etc...and traded or sold but never guessed would be as regarded now...early Bronze age books had many multiples of all key books., TMNT #1 first print.....Lots things have changed! Glad I kept be few memories...

What a great bunch of books. Luke Cage is my favorite Marvel Superhero. I had #1 at one time and would love to get another. Also, I am a huge fan of when Dac went to 52/48 pages for .25 cents in the early part of the Bronze Age era. Yes, they took a hit financially when they did this for a year. I loved the fact that on most of the titles, you had a new story and some great reprints. You got a lot for your quarter.😁
I meant to add that I have always been a big fan of Wonder Man but hated that costume he has on. It looks like a barn jacket with slacks. I liked the green outfit, and I want to say he did switch to a yellowish type costume for a short time if I am not mistaken.

Isn't Triple Action just all reprints? I use Covrprice as well, but some of their prices are off, and if you point them out, they take months to fix .. look up Avengers #1 (1963) - they show a 6.5 raw for $57 ...
I don’t think any of the pricing softwares are 100% accurate. I like cover prices raw prices to get an “index”, but I never use them by themselves. I typically look at eBay for availability, asking price and sold prices. I also use GPa for slab pricing so I can compare other grades against what I am looking at. There is a lot to it.
Obviously you misspoke when you said Secret Wars 8 was the 2nd appearance of the black suit. Not even top 10 appearances. Just the origin.

Question - How do you decide what to slab. I have a Ms. Marvel collection (1977-78-79) which is all 9.2, 9.4 and even 9.6. Trying to decide if I slab them or leave them raw. Including cost of a press, not sure I should slab them. Thanks
In that set, I would only slab 9.6 or 9.8a.

For me, if I have larger keys, I gauge if I can sell them in my claim sale. If I don’t sell them there, I either keep them for my PC (which I keep raw when I can) or I submit to CGC and then sell on an auction.
Interesting , a comic book chat group , i belong to we were chatting about cover price or most online price guides , how they assume what ever a slabbed key sales for is the price, wrong graded books are being scrunized more then ever now in the market, so a cgc 9.2 for example we documented of amazing spiderman 60 with white pages sold for 1900 roughly this summer a cgc 9.2 cream off white page copy with tanning etc sold for 780 so cover price says all cgc 9.2s are 780 thats not true, all slabs sell for differwnt amounts depending on how well there graded. Comics are way down the economy is in shambles, so alot of people in the market only buy raw books and dint want to pay slabbed prices.
It really depends. Golden age precode is on fire getting record prices, as well as hard to get high grade books. I don’t see any problems in the economy as a seller; it’s more about what is being sold and for how much. There is a ton of competition.
@@futurepastvintagecollectables yes but over graded books in the slabs are selling well below the market value in high grade especially. Of the same grade. Why were seeing a huge difference in realized prices especially of key silverage and bronze books. Golden age and atomic age books especially have been undervalued during the superhero craze of the last 10 years into post COVID market realize it's and its correcting. Nice pick up on the ff 1
I agree the slab market has been disrupted. I used to exclusively sell slabs , and I was getting books slabbed by the 100’s. I now almost exclusively sell raw, and it’s been going great. It’s all about the actual grade. I don’t disagree that people should buy the book and not the label. That’s what graders notes and looking closely at the book pre purchase are for.
