    I was looking for some easy explanation of the concept of Dui Yao. I graduated 15 years ago and this concept was never taught. Since I am sitting for my herbal boards now I am looking for other instructors to give me more of an explanation of the concepts instead of just rote memorization. Thanks for much. You have great teaching skills.

    Who is h p kim? I think I’ve heard of his reference handbook

    • @tcmstudy
      @tcmstudy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The actual book is "Handbook of Oriental Medicine" (amzn.to/3d3ekSf), but I feel like most people just refer to it as the HB Kim (the name of the author). It's a book a lot of people use for review because it has really good charts and tables. I definitely recommend it if you're taking the NCCAOM boards in the US.

    Why do we call it "herbs that tonify yin" instead of "yin tonics"

    • @tcmstudy
      @tcmstudy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It just depends on who is translating it.
      Bensky says, "Herbs that Tonify Yin."
      Chen says "Yin-Tonifying Herbs."
      Wiseman says, "Yin-Supplementing Medicinals."
