    Great video Nicholas! I’m currently studying for the herbal board exam and this was very memorable. You’ve got a knack for this. Would love to see more on Lui Wei Di Wang Wan, Si JunZi Tang, and Chai Hu Shu Gan Tang and some of the major formulas that are frequently used. Thanks again!

      Or maybe just cover the different tools in TCM that way you can widen your audience. Covering stuff like guasha for myofascial releasing, cupping, moxa, blade needling for chronic injuries, electro acupuncture, blood letting, oilments, tinctures and etc. the big strokes rather then small specific techniques

    • @tcmstudy

      I’ve been thinking about doing something like that. I still have to make a Spleen channel video, but after that I thought about making a video that reviews all of Points 1, but does it through point combinations.
      It would kind of go along with this test I made: tcmstudy.net/test.php?t=11
      It’s case studies with point combinations from CAM and Maciocia, but it explains them in terms of functions and categories.

    Hello Nicholas, this video is a gem. I am curious about how this formula may be modified to address chest, neck and face (around mouth and nose) rash in a perimenopausal patient with a history of "allergies". Is it common/reasonable for the heat generated in the KD/HT disharmony pattern to manifest as skin rash (in addition to the insomnia, 5-palm heat, night sweats)?

    Great video Nicholas - Do you have any suggestions where to buy this online? Also, whenever I search for "Tian Wang Bu Xin Dan" the name "Tian Wang Bu Xin Wan" appears. What's the difference in these two?

    • @tcmstudy
      @tcmstudy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Dan and Wan both just mean “pill,” So they are the same thing. Some manufacturers even say Tian Wang Bu Xin Pian (pian means “tablet”). They all have the same ingredients.
      I think the best option (if you’re a student or practitioner) is to set up a wholesale account with Mayway or Blue Poppy. You can find several brands on Amazon, but I’ve heard some people say they’ve had problems with counterfeits there.

    • @tcmstudy
      @tcmstudy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi there! I don't yet. I'll add that to the list. Both of those are fun formulas that are good to explain.
      Gui Pi Tang combines herbs that tonify Spleen qi (Si Jun Zi Tang) with herbs that tonify Heart blood to calm shen. So the formulas is majorly used for Spleen qi deficiency leading to Heart blood deficiency causing shen problems. (It's also used for Spleen not controlling the blood).
      Xiao Yao San combines herbs that move Liver qi with herbs that tonify the Spleen, so it's used for Liver overacting on Spleen. Mu Dan Pi and Zhi Zi clear heat, so Dan Zhi Xiao Yao San (aka Jia Wei Xiao Yao San) is good for Liver overacting on Spleen with heat signs.
      I might try to make that soon, since it's a good way to explain some basics about herbs and also review fundamentals like the five phases.

    If someone eats lots of salty snacks, like salted sunflower seeds (spits), and they develop tongue sores (tip of tongue), is that still a sign of Heart Heat? Or is it just local irritation from the spits?
