If a sufficient number of people can not be bothered to take the most basic level of interest in the country of their birth or their citizenship they are doomed. As Mark Steyn said "Sometimes a culture can become too stupid to survive." The sad fact is the official records show that 66.7% of the eligible voting public voted in the last Presidential election. That shows a pathetic lack of interest in the country's future. If only an extra 10% of eligible people voted in the coming mid-terms that would be a 15 million vote increase. It's also a generational thing; while Hanson has adapted to social media and has pivoted nicely into the podcast space especially recently, Shapiro grew up with the internet. He also has much more energy, which translates to speed and precision as well as output. The sad fact is the official records show that 66.7% of the eligible voting public voted in the last Presidential election.
That shows a pathetic lack of interest in the country's future.
If only an extra 10% of eligible people voted in the coming mid-terms that would be a 15 million vote increase.
It is essential that everybody actively attempts to enable that increase - whether it means driving a sick or elderly person or picking up someone without a vehicle or berating some relative over the dinner table who would otherwise not vote - whatever.

His real focus and concern is on doing research, developing ideas, and writing good books as he understands the contemporary commentary is less imperative to shaping his philosophical legacy, which will endure.

But my point in referencing Ben Shapiro (or even someone like Rush Limbaugh), is that their talent is specifically engaging in regular [daily] rhetoric designed for mass consumption, while Hanson is of a different class of pundit that has more substantial credentials and is aiming more to influence policymakers and other serious thinkers.
It's also a generational thing; while Hanson has adapted to social media and has pivoted nicely into the podcast space especially recently, Shapiro grew up with the internet. He also has much more energy, which translates to speed and precision as well as output. Outlining problems is vital to creating solutions.
