That's a good design for a diff. Should hold up just fine

Did the cast housings hold up? I built similar but with only two bold pillow blocks and had to redesign to all four block due to cracking of the cast housing.

Unfortunately it was too big for what I had in mind so it’s been on the shelf since..

Idk why just never thought about doing it like that.

If you have a horizontal shaft engine, then how are you mounting this? Especially if you have a torque converter. Are you offsetting the engine? Or mounting an intermediate shaft for power transfer?

I was planning on having a jack shaft to run the chain forwards to this differential and mount it with pillow blocks.

@@EngineeredToDesign I’m dealing with something similar on my buggy right now, and my issue is how an intermediate axle/jackshaft is going to affect the spacing. Seems like raising, or lengthening the areas that comprises the engine, intermediate axle, and rear diff is unavoidable. I’m trying to avoid adding chain tensioners. I’d much rather be able to slide the engine or the axle mounts to tighten the chain. I’m interested to see what ideas you come up with.

@@MrJakedaddy that sounds tricky, feel free to email me some pictures if I can help at all I’ll try or send me a dm on Instagram.. unfortunately the differential I built in this video is way to big for my lawn mower but I will use it in another build 👌🏻

Hi. I very interested about this project. Wondering how much horsepower it may handle. I am working on off-road 4 wheels independent rear suspension using 40K CVT and engine 450 CC engine. Thanks for sharing this.❤

That sounds so cool! This differential was out of a 204hp vehicle.. 450cc would be perfect

I was thinking about this for quiet a while and saw u build it it looks fabulous btw if u use this at rear it won't be good for drifting and all but any way it looks great

For sure, I built it to go in the front, if I was doing a rear setup I think I would use an lsd differential..

What kind of diff is this from?

    How wide is this setup?

Something I haven't seende before! Nice! Be mighty careful with the glove so close to the drill though, truly hurts like a mf when it catches on the drill.

Definitely a crazy concept I’m hoping to use for something else now..
