    JD I just subscribed to your channel I appreciate the lengths that you go through to explain stuff. You don't have to have the best high quality video. I've told TH-camrs this time and time again it's the thoroughness that you use when you actually put together your content and I appreciate what you do. I know that you're doing a lot of your work on your own so you don't get a lot of time to play like you want. But I do appreciate the content. I'm in the process of trying to build across cart right now myself I want to run Pikes Peak next year in April unfortunately I've hit a dead end no funds and I can't find any sponsors or anybody willing to help me with the build so I'm going to have to put it on the back

    This is basically the setup I have on my buggy. I really like the chain adjustability and narrowness of your other design. I was wondering if you could combine the two. Mount the pillow bearings vertically on one pivoting base. Butt the two hubs together and mount the sprocket on the outside of the hub.

      That is possible, it could work.

    Very cool, So have you got a whole crew reproducing these? I may get a kit off of you if you're still selling them

    Really like the Build :) Any advice on getting similar parts in UK ? as Mazda Miata are impossible to get! Hoping for a similar CV alternative with this set up? Thanks Guy's !!!

    Do you think that stub axle with the keys and gopowersports hubs will support that high horsepower and torque? I love this setup of for the rear end!!!

      It holds up really well, we've been using that spool for a few years. Trick is to use parts fit together with no slop.

    Looks like you know where the balance point of the buggy is.
    That dual circuit master looks really neat, what is it out of?

      It's an ebay find. Go power sports sells a similar mater cylinder.

    My question is why can't you just modify a atv swing arm drive spool to mount the Mazda miata cv axles

    I grew up racing go karts from PA to NC. That was 20 years ago when we finally stopped racing. Do you guys run disc brakes on all 4 corners? I’m trying to get a plan together to build one of these with a gsxr 1000 engine and 4 wheel disc brakes so I can have some fun in the city streets of Philadelphia. Do you have a direction of where I can look find more info on this type of brake setup?

    • @jdsgarage701
      @jdsgarage701  ปีที่แล้ว

      This video here doesn't use 4 wheel brakes but shows how to use spindles that have brake caliper mouts and can be added. th-cam.com/video/OAZpm4VLepk/w-d-xo.html

    What are you doing for rear brakes. Will it be mini cooper brakes?

    One last thing, could you slot the holes for the pillow block bearings then welding nut in front of them with a bolt to stop them from sliding forward? Also what powers the buggy?

    • @jdsgarage701
      @jdsgarage701  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, this is possible but in this case we mounted the bearings vertically so they can't be pulled forward. The engine is from a 1993 Polaris xlt 580.

    Would you be willing to share the front A-Arm Mount and Shock Mount files so I can cut them out on my CNC? I am building the KJ VF-2 which has same front and rear dimensions.

    • @jdsgarage701
      @jdsgarage701  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We aren't going to share them because they won't fit any other buggy. The a arm mounts won't fit the KJ cart because of different tube sizes and the shock mounts won't fit because they are mounted at an unusual angle.

    Question..?? Which shock absorbers do you use..? I am looking for info on what's the best shocks for my IRS, regarding the max load capacity and I don't find anything at all...? I install a gy6 on my go kart..

      Any help will be well aprciated it..

    • @jdsgarage701
      @jdsgarage701  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The front is using polaris rmk shocks, 105 lbs springs. The back it's just using air helper shock for a trailer.
