  • Isn't it annoying when a theist laughs at a non believer, because they think it's ridiculous we don't accept what they do... Well Hamza from Hamza's Den scoffs many times in this video, because he thinks it's dumb that atheists don't think there's a creator...

I find that claim incredibly offensive and anyone making that claim in all seriousness, especially the idiots talking about "reverts" need to be arrested, as basically they're saying that _all_ non muslims can be killed.
Not only that, but my memory goes back a hell of a long way (I remember nappies, big, scary safety pins, etc [please, no jokes about that being last week]) and at no point did I ever believe in a god, let alone the immoral, illogical, idiotic god of islam. It simply didn't occur to me.

His argument that they are Muslim because they "follow the will of their creator" is complete rubbish too. The dude in red correctly pointed out that everyone is born an atheist, Hamza then tries to claim that they are Muslim. Firstly, he fails to show that a creator exists. Babies follow their evolved instincts. Secondly, he fails to show that they believe in a god or gods, and are therefore theists.

I disagree. I believe everyone is born innocent/ignorant, without the capacity to understand the concept of gods.
The literal definition of the Greek word "Atheos," that so many militant atheists are firmly tied to, is overly broad and practically meaningless, since defining atheism as simply lacking belief in gods, would mean that even rocks are atheist.
To me, atheism is the rejection of the theist claim that gods exist. In order to reject a claim, one must be able to understand it. This leaves out babies and rocks.
Once a child is old enough to understand, they can be introduced to the concept of gods, usually by theist parents. At this point, they become theists because it is the rare child who doubts what their parents have told them. Once they are old enough to start declaring their independence, they may start to question their parents' claims. This is when they will either remain theists or become atheists.
You are correct though. If everyone was born with knowledge of god, if there is indeed only one, there would only be one religion.

    • @somersetcace1
      @somersetcace1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +17

@@terryfall8915 I could argue that rocks being atheist is not really a logical problem, however, that's sort of a sneaky way of avoiding your point. The term "atheist" only has meaning because of "theism." So in that regard, I agree with you that slapping that label on someone who has never heard of a god concept would be an improper application of the label. Technically, they are "atheist" but it doesn't have any meaning to them, because they have no idea what theism is. However, I don't really see a practical difference in the distinction. I've never heard of, or thought of a god concept that I could say "I believe that exists." Everything else is semantics.

I never chose to be an atheist. Actually I chose to be a religiously affiliated agnostic, but neither I chose to be an agnostic: I chose to keep my home religion and to commit to it despite I couldn't believe in specific supernatural claims. I didn't choose not to believe in supernatural claims, I just grew too skeptical on them.
But eventually I couldn't agree with certain core values of my home religion, I apostatized, and when I recoiled I figured out that I had been an atheist for a while.
If a baby is submitting to the creator in the way Hamza means, my apostacy was pretty much submitting to the creator in exactly the same way. My atheism is the nature the creator chose for me because I cannot be something else: I cannot believe such creator is even possible. As babies cannot believe in Jesus, Ganesh, or Mohammed, or even the concept of a creator.
And when I say that I can't believe in a creator, I don't mean that the concept is too complicated for me to understand -and that's the difference between a baby and me-. I mean that I can't see any claim of a creator or other form of a god as anything different than mythology and fiction.

One day I shall go to Speakers Corner but I don't know whether I'll bother with him or the other motor mouth purveyors of falshood who tend to gather there to see what trouble they can stir up.
I'd like to see his proof that Ganesh doesn't exist or any of the other Hindu gods or an explainatino of why babies aren't born Hindu or Christian or Jewish, oh, wait, they are... Of course you'll never get to hear any of that because he'll just Gish Gallop away from the questions he knows he can't answer. It's very dishonest but then he doesn't care, he's not there to exchange ideas or engage in a conversation, he's there to push his religion on anyone who'll listen and to rake in the money from his acolytes who think he's defeating atheists and defending the faith. It's kind of sad but in a very infuriating way. ON the plus side I think it's a technique which drives away more people than it convinces. Hey, if he can play so fast and loose with claims about babies being muslim, turnabout is fair play.
The problem with fudging definitions to be so broad as he seems to want, is that the word defined becomes nearly useless.
And while I think it is a legitimate question, that is what would be good evidence to demonstrate the existence of a God, I think Hamza's distraction tactic was probably his best shot.
Because I have a suspicion that if he had presented his evidence, nobody would have been impressed.
It's hard to present evidence for an unfalsifiable premise. But considering the religious claims about God and his properties, there are a lot of things that I would expect to see that I don't.

What was that Surah that explains practical fusion ?
All this manic Mohammedan logorrhoea is exhausting me.

"A baby acting on instinct = submitting to the will of its creator" makes about as much sense as saying "me using the bathroom = submitting to the will of the sewers."

Street preaching is like chess with a Pidgeon. Nobody wins and shit gets everywhere and you wonder why anyone would want to engage a Pidgeon in anything.

Science has a standard your faith does not. Your faith is based on faith not evidence.

Choice? No, it was my *conclusion* (based on the total lack of evidence and valid arguments) that atheism is the more correct route.

How did I miss last week's video? I always watch the second I get an alert that you posted. I thoroughly enjoy your channel. You and Sir Sic are the two most entertaining channels there are.
Going to watch now. Thanks for being so good at what you do! Don't ever give up.

Damn. Talking with that guy, it's like playing chess with a pigeon : he's shiting all over the board, and think he won.
I don't understand how he can even post this kind of video of himself, it's so embarrassing.
It's always frustrating to see dumb people, thinking they are smart, treating other people like THEY were the dumb ones.
