Eddie Jackson IS and ALWAYS WAS a fuckin badass bassist. It is notable from the very first album ever. High skilled and very good taste on his lines, following drum, pretty grooving.... I guess is enough time a original Queensryche line up reunion 🤟🏻
I saw them during the 'Empire' tour in Amsterdam in 1990. One of the best show I ever saw. Playing the entire 'Operation...' album for the 2nd half of the concert was utterly mindblowing. During the outtro of 'Eyes....' I had tears in my eyes.
Apart from Eddie Jackson, the energy it takes to perform all of these notes and drum pieces, at this level for this amount of time, is astounding. Most people can barely get up to walk to their couch to watch this on TH-cam... Edit: Edie Jackson doing work on Best I Can, wow.
They had the world in their hands. And Geoff and Chris's voices complimented each other so well. I don't think Geoff hasv ever found ANYONE as good since then

Infelizmente hoje em dia são raras as bandas com tamanha qualidade, tanto em estúdio quanto ao vivo. Uma pena que não mantiveram a mesma qualidade após a saída do Chris Degarmo.

I remember reading about this tour in the metal press back in that day and thinking how lucky those people were to see this line up of bands and Ryche being my favorite of the touring lineup it's cool to finally see some footage from the tour surface.

I always thought that 7.Resistance , 9.Hand On Heart and 10.One And Only, are the weakest tracks on Empire, and I could do well without them )
+Neueregel I like Resistence, it's much better live than the studio version. About the 2 other tracks, they're fillers, never liked these tracks. Last Time in Paris is much better but they scrapped it from Empire.
I love Resistance and specially One and Only. My least favorites tracks from Empire are Hand on Heart and Silent Lucidity (despite they still good enough).

Unpopular opinion. On their day, I honestly don't think anyone could touch this band. I don't mean with any real longevity but 88 to 91... Was there really anyone better in terms of conceptual art with hooks and truly stellar musicianship? Mindcrime is probably my favourite album ever. It gets better every year.

Michael VanderDrift The record company should have promoted "Hear In The Now Frontier" better... if it had been very successful maybe he would have done another album? But he does love flying, so... maybe he would have done that anyway.
StratMatt777 that is very possible! However, I admit that Hear In The Now Frontier is a disappointment compared to Empire and Mindcrime (too experimental). Because of this, the album may have failed anyway. Being this experimental, diverting from the successful Queensryche formula right smack in the middle of the most vulnerable part of the 90's for hard rock artists is a huge gamble. It may have happened anyway.
Michael VanderDrift And Chris basically wrote the whole thing.... like, all of it. "Some People Fly" and "The Voice Inside" are my favorite tracks, but you can hear that Geoff's voice is not really there anymore...

O último show do queensryche antes da saída do tate, foi aqui no Brasil; antes dos caras subirem no palco, eles saíram na porrada dentro do camarim... Wilton, Eddie e Scott, os três foram em cima do tate de porrada.... Um repórter contou essa história em uma revista, muita gente nem ficou sabendo dessa história. Aí os caras subiram no palco e não deixaram transparecer que haviam brigado há segundos atrás, foram profissionais ao extremo. Depois do término do show, voltaram para casa e anunciaram a saída do tate..... Aí se iniciou a batalha na justiça por causa do nome da banda.....enfim, dizem que eles entraram em acordo na justiça, e cada um tá seguindo sua carreira. Mas muito antes dessa treta, na saída do Chris de garmo, o queensryche já havia perdido a essência e nunca mais foi o mesmo, a época de ouro da banda foi os álbuns operation e empire, essa fase foi top. Depois que o Chris saiu da banda, ele montou uma empresa de vôos particulares, ele é piloto, o cara é dono de uma empresa de jatinhos, ganhou muita grana no queensryche e disse que tava a fim de um trabalho mais sossegado pra ficar perto da família dele.
Nessa época eu tinha um fanatismo desenfreado no Queensryche.......e era bem complicado naqueles tempos achar material da banda.........fiz grandes sacrifícios para comprar os discos.......me lembro que o Rage for Order eu consegui achar anos depois.......era extremamente difícil achar certos discos.......tempos difíceis; mas que batem saudades.......Os 5 membros tinham uma sintonia perfeita!!!!!! Não assisti ao vivo e não canso de rever, a cada ano parece melhor. Lamento demais eles o fato de demitirem o Geoff Tate aqui, na minha Sampa, mas ninguém jamais vai superar essa banda e essa formação que fez o nome Quuensryche ser o que é hoje.
Eu dou graças a Deus por terem o demitido. Depois da saída do DeGarmo, Tate foi afundando a banda com suas composições de gosto duvidoso, monopolizando as composições, fora a briga que teve com o restante da banda em São Paulo. Depois que o Todd La Torre entrou na banda, Queesryche renasceu, voltou a fazer heavy metal de qualidade
