❤ I am so glad I discovered your Sjogren's videos. I was told that I had this disease several years ago but none of my doctor's ever gave me guidelines to help me manage my symptoms. I have access to very high quality medical care at UAMS in Arkansas but my doctor's left me feeling that Sjogren's was nothing I could do anything about. I wonder how many people are like me and need the kind of help that your videos provide. Thank you so much for using your time and knowledge to educate us.
they lie avoid food triggers delay reaction too even your toothpaste things like corn and fruitose fruit spict foods it can take days to get back where you were 3 days for me what also really leped me is vitamin d have you ever tried high dose vitamin d get your level checked if your level is on the low range and if the doctor will agree try 50,000 iu once a week and see how you feel in a month and half it's when you start notice it helps i call it the miracle vitamin it not getting your level in range what helps it works like medicine as d is a hormone a steroid and only helps when taking it
I have so many of the symtoms of Sjogrens. My mouth and throat so dry, eyes dry, pain in spinal cord, nerve pain in head, neck, spine, face, more areas of body. Loss of breath , brain fog, so many symptoms. None of my doctors have ever said this. Thank you.
I have had SS diagnosed for 30 years probably had it about 12 years before I had it. For me no sugar at all. I eat natural foods meat and Diary take vitamins Nothing in a packet No glueton. This diet has worked better for me .
I am 75 and have Sjogren's. It is my belief that a gluten-free kidney friendly diet is the best diet for me and would help other people who have Sjogren's. I also consume a small serving of active yogurt every morning to provide the needed bacteria my stomach may lack. These changes in my diet has help to alleviate the digestive symptoms l have caused by the Sjogren's Syndrome.
There is no need of eliminating grains, such as rye, amaranth, buckwheat, farro and long grain rice, even though a few of them contain gluten. They contain very important vitaminB group (3,6, 12) that are absolutely needed for our mental health. Only those, who were tested and proven to be gluten sensitive, have to eliminate the grains.

@@rheumatologistoncall I have read that is not uncommon in auto immune diseases such as RA , Scleroderma etc but rare in Primary Sjogrens would you agree? :)
I've had sjogrens for 5 years and I'm 52 yrs old ,,what can I do to continue working ,because I have alot off fatigue and my work requires alot off walking
To start with cut out all dairy and gluten. Buy soya, almond or oat milk instead of milk and soy or I've margarine. and gluten free foods such as bread and , flour.
It's important to consult with a healthcare professional before making any changes to your diet, especially if you have thyroid complications. They can provide you with personalized advice and recommendations.
Thank you so much , I am glad I found your video, I have a question if is possible to answer, It's possible to have rushes on my hands and face from sjogren syndrome?.🙏❤️
Omg thank you so much because I was worried , I am watching now all your videos and I told my daughter to buy a book for this syndrome, I am 62 but this is new for me , I have neuropathy in both legs and migrena too. Thank you for what you doing 🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
What does one do if they are also sulfur intolerant And have issues with oxalate? I have SS but also have these other issues and everything your area talking about create more issues for me. I literally don't know what to eat any more!
I had sjogren syndrome.diagnosed 6 years back. I was on HCQ200 for last 6years. Last month the Dr stopped Hcq and told to take Crocin SOS. This one month has been very tough as I am getting body pains. Pl guide, should I restart HCQ 200.
The do not eat list has been my menu. I also eat the good food but will try to eat better. Thank you for doing these videos. I have a problem with cantaloupe. Watermelon used to give me a sore throat but after menopause not a problem as much any longer. I will need to wean myself from tomatoes. (the agony). Yes, drink a lot of smoothies and a soup. Having to give up milk products have been hard but managed. Lots of water. Lots of berries. Potatoes...no more french fries..sigh... Love sea foods. Hummm... lactose sensitive stop with yogurt. Lots of salads but going to say goodbye to...oranges, tomatoes.. strawberries are not hard to find but do not keep well. I didn't hear about apples? I gained too much weight during Covid. Fried chicken and French fries, too easy to obtain at the time. Probably why I gained weight too easily. Sugar? Still in moderation but not giving up completely.🤨 I've always thought diet is important but sadly, doctors who should be steering us toward the right foods? I guess still do not see it as important or just feel more comfortable in the one lane? Yet, fail to reccomend patients to nutritionist. I've gone up and down in weight through the years. It will be harder to lose weight this time but I am going to focus on not eating the wrong foods to see how it goes.😁
Thank you for your videos. I have had Sjogrens for many years. An anti-inflammatory diet helps me. One thing I'd like to say: Doctors kept asking me if I was experiencing dry eyes and mouth for years, and I always said no! The problem was that I had had Sjogren's for so long that I no longer remembered what normal felt like. Looking back, I had all the symptoms but didn't know how to pay attention to them. Especially runny eyes! I had no idea that dry eye causes people's eyes to tear, and I thought if my eyes were producing tears, I must be fine. Wrong! Also, many people show false negatives in the initial blood testing. I did. It wasn't until I had a lip biopsy that I learned I had Sjogren's.
@@Grain-FreeInsights-wo1qo something similar happened to me. I never though I had dry eyes because I didn’t know what that was supposed to feel like. But I most definitely had dry eyes for years.
In an ideal world "your physician will help develop an eating plan" but in reality physicians limit visits to 5 minutes and push you out the door ... apathetic and totally disinterested not to mention clueless
@@rheumatologistoncall Thank you for reply and interest - my health was decimated not so much by illness itself but by missdiagnose leading to long delays and actual exacerbating symptoms . Now suffering from a number of chronic conditions thanks to "medical professional" apathetic approach . Something must be done at this level . We don't need hoards of "doctors" with who knows how they obtained their qualifications ... we need exceptional human beings qualified doctors !
@@rheumatologistoncall God bless you Dr. Girnita 🙏🏼 The medical profession needs more compassionate doctors such as yourself dedicated to caring for people and not treating them as just a medical record number.
Unfortunately, many are driven by profit and are more than happy to send you out of their office with a handful of expensive prescriptions that can come with serious negative side effects. We have a “sick care” system not a “healthcare system”. Sad.
This is why it is so beneficial to read the reviews regarding a physician, when choosing a primary care or any specialist... Unfortunately I have out lived some of the best doctors & using reviews has been a great tool...
In the UK especially in Scotland our healthcare system is just about finished. GP practices are being taken over by the NHS because other doctors don't want to buy them out. There is also a shortage of consultants so we are lucky if we get seen once a year. In Scotland Consultants don't know much about Sjogrens or drugs which will help either, so we certainly wouldn't get help from a dietician.
Thank you so much for sharing! It's wonderful to see how these natural remedies and dietary changes have helped you manage your condition. Keep spreading the knowledge!

It’s important to remember that gastroenterologists don’t know anything about healthy diet and nutrition and even most conventional doctors are ignorant about these things too. I won’t follow many of her diet suggestions because they’re just not generally healthy. If I die of obesity following her suggestions it won’t matter that I have S syndrome! Of course death will be the final cure so maybe she’s thinking about a cure…?
Sorry, Dr Girnita, on this matter, we disagree. There is no way plant matter helps me. I am symptom free eating saturated fats, full fat dairy and staying off plant matter. I appreciate your efforts, however, not everything will work the same for everyone. Each person has to find what works for them and not rely wholesale on a generic list.
I understand that you have found a dietary approach that works for you, and that you feel that plant matter is not necessary for your health. It's true that everyone's body and health needs are unique, and what works for one person may not work for another. However, I would like to point out that there is a significant body of scientific evidence that suggests that a diet high in plant-based foods is associated with numerous health benefits, including reduced risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease and autoimmune disease. While there may be some people who can thrive on a diet that is low in plant-based foods, the evidence suggests that for most people, a diet rich in whole plant foods is optimal for health and wellbeing. Ultimately, the decision of what to eat is up to you. However, I encourage you to consider incorporating more plant-based foods into your diet, as they may provide health benefits that are not available from a diet high in saturated fats and full-fat dairy products alone.
@@rheumatologistoncall Thanks, but this n=1 informs me much better than scientific studies that inform, guide and insure doctors. I'll stick to my non plant diet and stay auto immune disease free.
@@kateaye3506 Interesting. I can say my father passed on at 59 years old. Both of his parents reached 90. I attribute his early demise in part due to his diet. He died in surgery, being treated for a piece of lamb lodged in his throat. His intestines ruptured in his late 40's. He resisted all vegetables. Drank carbonated sodas and drank too much at times. A social drinker thankfully not alcoholic but all of this I can see validates what this doctor is sharing. He was diagnosed with Raynauds Syndrome around 30. Finally, Fibromyalgia, a year before his death. Too late to reverse so much of the damage that had already been done. The doctor didn't say never, but treating foods that are not good for us as treats I imagine is a healthier choice.
Kate you one bloody lucky girl don't have to go through many food changes but Dr Girnita is helping people with complex illnesses through her research to better our health care.
Thank you for your kind words! I'm happy to hear that you found my videos are helpful!!!

I completely agree!!!

It's frustrating when medical professionals don't have the time or interest to help with important health issues.
Which foods are actually bad for Sjogren's and why?

@@WhoDeyMos better to see à dr..🙏
@matios6013 thank you, the doctors did not help, i did research and it seems she has Atrophic glossitis.

I was vegetarian/vegan for 25 years, so I have intimate experience with eating plants, and what they did to me.
We may have same symptoms but medications, food, exercise and day to day lifestyle works little differently for everyone else. She did say in previous videos to us sufferes get properly tested by professionals. Keep up with your good health.
Thank you Dr Diana Girnita for your supports.
