I agree! Doctor what can I take for indigestion I have this feeling of like I am choking and burping constantly and trying to get the air out. It's a weird uncomfortable feeling and it makes my BP read so high. I was reading that it can be my Thyroids. I have no gallbladder and had a hysterectomy with no advise on after care for both surgeries. I take a digestive enzyme but it does not help much. Any advise on this is much appreciated. Thankyou in advance!

It’s refreshing to see a doctor - a specialist too - talk about vitamins. It’s been a long time coming. My dad was teaching me vitamin, minerals, and supplements 30+ years ago but it’s just recently seemingly becoming more relevant outside of the health food store enthusiasts. Thank you.

I can not praise cod liver oil enough. My hands were unable to open completely for 2 years until I added this to my diet. I only take a teaspoon daily. Cod liver oil has vitamins A& D in a natural form. I always drink orange juice or some acidic drink to rid it from my mouth after taking it.

I take every day all those vitamins ( only one a day omega 3) , vit C 1500 slow release, vit D3( European graduation) is 75ug,
B I take complex B forte. Additionally I take curcuma capsules (2 capsules) ( should be spread 1 three times a day… but I will forget so I take 2 in one go together with the other vit’s
I have been able to reduce the pain and symptoms of sjogren
I couldn’t use my hands properly due to pain and stiffness and now they are normal ( after a year of vitamins and no medicine)

The rep wanted to know how the doctor knew he would have to deliver vía cesarían. The patient had a placenta previa! He asked her if she knew what it was! Obviously she did not and he immediately enlightened her. Insurance companies did not go to medical school and have no right to dictate provision of patient care to doctors!

Kimberly, that's way too much vitamin E. That could cause heart problems taking 1,000 to 2000 units a day. I've been taking 400 units a day, a safe dose, for about 40 years now because it prevents muscle spasms in my lower legs. I started doing this after being in the hospital and not being able to walk. A nurse and another person told me to take vitamin E 400 units and it has worked all these years to prevent muscle spasms. Just wanted to share this info with you.

I grew up learning that if you eat well - everything we know that’s healthy - taking vitamins is not necessary and we’re just keeping vitamin companies in business. Too much of a GOOD thing can be BAD and unhealthy…… so…… I will continue to eat healthily and get my vitamins this natural of ways…. I’m from Europe and over there they don’t take vitamins like they do over here. They are also healthier….

For many reasons, including autoimmune diseases. Our bodies don’t always absorb good nutrients from a healthy diet , that’s why it’s good to have a blood test now and again and have a look at what’s really going on. I rely on vitamins and a healthy diet to keep me going. P.s I’m not American but from the UK.

I’m taking all of these except vitamin E, which I may add to my regiment now. I also take turmeric & magnesium glycinate at my rheumatologist’s direction. (I have not noticed any effect from the magnesium glycinate since starting it 3 months ago, so I will discontinue it when Ive finished the bottle.) I started taking collagen peptides last year, & found it VERY helpful at reducing cramps & muscle/joint pain. Plus my skin is improved (no rash!) Lastly, I take cranberry to help with UTIs, which I seem to get a lot of since my Sjögren’s diagnosis. I’ve never gotten a UTI when taking cranberry. One more thing-I also have osteoarthritis. When I’m having a flare up & stiffness/soreness becomes a bigger problem, I have used CBD/THC 1:30 with great results. Because my kidneys are at risk, I have to avoid NSAIDs, so this has been a very good replacement for meloxicam!

With regards to the sugar free items, I totally can not have many types of “no sugar added” beverages or foods that contain sucralose aka Splenda or aspartame bc of how it turns stool into water…even Or especially in me (ileostomate) and can consequently cause dehydration but I haven’t had that reaction from monk fruit or erythritol so I try to stick to those as my alternatives to sugar.

I always have problems trying to keep my Vit D level up. I have been taking Vit C + D but I must take more D to reach a good level. Vitamin b12 however gives me hives! Since we get it naturally from meat products, consuming some meat has helped. I become iron deficient when I go total vegan so I went back to some meat. Iron tablets make me constipated.
I know it doesn't make sense but I do have dry eyes and must use drops but I don't have a dry mouth? Every since pregnancies not a problem for me but I must drink water/liquids a lot.
Good news though, not sure why? Phlegm is less of a problem lately? Hum..not sure why? Maybe using an inhaler more is helping? I am going to ask about Vit b12 levels.

Healthy vegan diet helps me a lot. I make beet, spinach and Barry smoothies daily. I alternate with spinach. Apple and lemon smoothies. Starts my day off with lots of natural vitamins and fiber. Working out when you're constipated will help that almost immediately. Going for a walk and getting sunlight daily will help your vitamin D naturally.

@Mikegigiz Did you ever get any info concerning the internal vibrations? I developed this in 2018 after cold turkey clonazepam and it is still happening. I was just diagnosed with Sjogren's a few days ago. I think the cold turkey off clonazepam started it because that is when the vibrations started along with many other symptoms. It is horrible when waking up in the morning.

That's way too much. I've been taking too much also, and I've been studying up. The University of Minnesota says: "Excess vitamin D can cause calcium to build up in the blood, leading to fatigue, nausea, constipation, headaches, and other symptoms. The proportion of Americans who are taking vitamin D supplements at amounts that exceed the recommended limit has risen dramatically in recent years - jumping 590 percent between 1999 and 2014, according to a University of Minnesota study published this week in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA)."

I also was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia and I’m in pain every day. Sometimes I have to get up out my sleep to treat my eyes and mouth. I use Restasis, eye drops & night cream and I started buying Biotene products from toothpaste, mouthwash and mouth spray and it gives freshness & moisture to the mouth.

Have you ever heard of eye toxicity from being on plaquenil? The fatigue is starting again and my eyes are dry even though I use eye drops x3 a day. There are no more tears in my eyes, they suffer a lot and more in the climatic changes that occur in California, USA. The breeze and the dryness of the environment cause me dryness and discomfort. I don’t have saliva and my tongue cracks or breaks when something has pepper or spicy, ketchup, salt or acids. My body hurts at times and I get very tired, I have fatigue and sometimes anxiety, stress and constant mood swings, I did not have children because according to that it would not be good for me and for the embryo. My wrists and knees hurt, the Kaiser doctor prescribed Pilocarpine and nothing else in Colombia they took that medicine from me because it was not at all good. I have problems with my liver, next Monday I will have an echo to see his condition. I don’t know what to do anymore, I’m 39 years old and I already want to die for all this and more. They keep me in my parents, they depend on me and my nephew to whom I pay for his studies. I wish you could give me a recommendation, please Dr.

My current cbc is fine, no anemia. Some physicians think I don’t have low but my primary thankfully thinks it could be paradoxical B12 deficiency. Trying to find specialists that can go deeper on the blood work and check “active” B12 is very difficult for me tho.

Thank you for sharing, Dr. Girnita! I have some questions about the vitamin d3. I have RA, Sjogrens, and severe endometriosis and am VERY low in vitamin D. Any time I have taken vitamin d, I have issues with my bowels. I have taken it anywhere from 5,000 units a day to very low doses 600 units a day and about a week to two weeks later, or so I have bowel issues. I call them bowel attacks, but that is probably not the proper term for it. What ends up happening during these bowel issues is I will defecate 4 times within an hour and a half. The pain is incapacitating on my lower left side and then when I defecate my stool will be go from hard, then 2nd stool is a little less hard and by the time I get to my 4th stool within the hour and a half it is very loose (sorry if this is to much information). This does not happen every day. I have asked many doctors about this and they never know what us causing it. Do you know what the issue might be? Do you think I might have issues absorbing Vitamin D?
I am asking because I know I desperately need to take vitamin D since my levels are at a 9 and should at least be in the 30+ range.
