      Oh, the answer to that is actually really simple. He insists on personal responsibility while they want to avoid it (and have others do so as well so that they don't feel jealousy while looking at the success of others) as much as possible. He counters their narrative so they want to discredit him. What has less credit in our society than a Nazi? Thus, they call him one.

Yeah IQ isn't everything but it's never bad. Definitelly don't be afraid to use your brain the way you think high IQ people do, ponder problems "above your pay grade", read complex articles and make short notes capturing the essence. It sharpens you up, and humbles you at the same time. There's always smarter or better people round the corner, so all we can do is be the best we can within our means.

I was always drawn to science, arts, and learning, enjoyed reading, literature and drawing. I've self educated my entire life and I can honestly say about 90 percent of my skillsare self learned. School was robotic and stupid, it desesitized my curiosity, critical thinking or learning things in a logical manner, really understanding, know what I mean? I wish someone would've taught me all these stuff in high school, I'm sure it'd ve been progress...Regardless of that, it's still a privilege to listen to this now, from the comfort of my home. When low status men become enough in numbers and recognize that the economic system does not work for them, what will result from this situation? This is exactly what is happening so much in our present society. For example maybe the country can get into a war with another country and then they need manpower to fight the aggressive country. If enough low status men feel their country does not respect their capabilities they can resist induction into the army. They might go to prison for a time but with enough men acting out their resentment this can become a genuine concern for the country in peril. I have seen this myself growing up in the Vietnam war era. We might be seeing a lot more of this pushback in the years to come. I would not be surprised if this has already happened in the world.

I realised that I was just existing, not truly living life, just going through the motions. I put my beer down, said "see you later guys" and went home. Applied for some overseas jobs, got one, and when the visa arrived I hopped on the plane and never looked back. That was 7 years ago. I now have a wife, we have three properties, two vehicles and blossoming careers, none of which I would have if I had stayed where I was. I have heard through family that a couple of my former friends had been trash talking and critising me, yet from what I heard their lives are still the same as I had left them, no growth, still drinking in the same bar doing the same menial jobs, going from one meaningless relationship to another. In the end hating me because I wanted more out of life, and got more, rather than admit their errors and change their own lives they chose to vilify me. We have to understand that when we are talking about power and dominance, almost everyone will use money and wealth as a measure......if u use happiness as a measure, things change very quickly. These people at the top, I'm sure they are happy, but they are also living to work, they work their whole lives for 4 weeks holiday a year and pension.......don't measure your wealth buy the position your in at work and how much money you have, measure it with how free and happy you are.
    Business doesn't reward happiness, it rewards Ur time for being there.....

    • @BboyFever
      @BboyFever 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Measuring by happiness and your freedom is very important for living a balanced life. Problem is, when we are talking about "power" and "dominance" in the classical sense, that is capital P Power and capital D Dominance, we are measuring things like amount of resources allocated to you (think President of United States), Prestige (or competence at a valued skill), Physical Prowess (at least for men), and how much money you have. Having these things don't guarantee that you'll be happy (I'm sure you can find many head of states or billionaires who are chronically stressed and not happy), and being happy doesn't give you Dominance and Prestige (I remember the day I graduated I was a happy little kid. Not alot of Dominance or Prestige though). It's important to measure by both because your Dominance and Prestige tends to determine your socioeconomic status, and in certain phases of your life it's worth sacrificing happiness in the short and mid term, to gain that socioeconomic status in the long term. The world can open up for you in new ways once you do.

    This guy keeps going in circles. I am a 70 year old white male and have observed something crazy about women. This might explain this situation. Many women will set up a situation that is not sustainable. Usually someone: father, husband, boyfriend etc, will need to step in and fix her mess. If she cannot find a fixer she is in real trouble. An example is single moms need for free daycare. They have strolled down the path of having children they cannot support and carefore without public assistance.. It is like their compas is out of wack.

      Women don't have, in general, the ability to see things abstractly, or to plan. Unless they are forced to do it. And then it becomes "an emotional load" and they complain about that as well. They are basically one step above children, emotionally, their entire lives.
      They can do it if they are taught to do it. But they aren't. They have the 100% pussy pass for the first 15 years of their adult lives which shields them from responsibility. So they never learn...and are not being taught this by older women.

    • @CaminoAir
      @CaminoAir 5 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      As bad as it sounds, I would agree with you. Feelings are of course not just ignorable, but my experience with women would lead me to believe that they don't seem to have a clear view of what is happening around them, only a wish to experience certain emotions in response. This may sound patronising & generalising at best, but it honestly is my best attempt to understand what I've encountered and how often my jaw almost dropped open observing how widely off the mark woman can be.

    The answer to a dominance hierarchy based on status, is to be completely indifferent to it. Refusing to compete for status is a win/win. Younger men fall into the trap of chasing audial status. A man of experience, with even a modicum of common sense, knows that chasing status is pathologically foolish. Status is fools gold!

    This actually reminds me of the story of when Darryl Davis met KKK grand high wizard. Jordan talks about the familiar territory in the form of ideals which makes sense. Because people tend to travel to new places whether your actively searching for them or not. Yet for the most part when you arrive you're very comfortable and not on edge. And hopefully I'm right in trying to understand what he is trying to say, but the reason you are alright is in general your surrounded by like minded people in this case they share your culture and general ideals so you know what offends them and what doesnt because generally what does or doesn't offend them is the same stuff that does or doesnt offend yourself. Therefore acting like your normal self is fine and you feel safe despite being in a totally different environment your not use to. Which leads me back to the story of the Klan wizard and Darryl Davis. Davis is very much use to motels and hotels because he is a traveling musician and the Klan leader goes all around the country to give speeches on his racist view of the world so he is also use to hotels and motels. Which is where this meeting took place. They debated and argued over which ideology was right then all of a sudden a quick random noise echoes through the room. Both are sure the other one made that noise. Darryl jumps up smacking the table ready to tackle the kkk leader, the leader is ready to sick his body guard on Davis. Confusion fills the room until they find out neither of them made the noise. The cooler full of ice holding the soda at the end of the room did. Then they all laughed. The cooler making this noise is common, I have went to many gatherings and parties that had that sound and it would be loud enough for people to hear yet at most they would just look at the direction of the sound but most just ignored it. The reason why these two reacted so strongly despite being in a familiar setting is they are across from a person who does not operate with the same ideals therefore you have no idea what they are capable of or what sets them off. Like the example he gave of the mentally ill person and how functioning members of society would actively keep their distance from people like that.

    although I aggree, low status while seeing the fruits of other people success of course makes anyone angry and builds a deep hatred and fury. No doubt about it. In which point I dont agree with Peterson, or maybe even more his male followers, is that you need success/social prestige to have women like you, have interest in you. For me, this point about success and getting women is presenten way to one-sided here.
    of course, if you are successful, if you become somewhat wealthy, its way easier getting women, no doubt about it. But it almost sounds like, its near impossible to get a decent girlfriend if you are taxi driver, pizza baker. delivery man, everyday office joe and so on. And that is simply not true. People focus way too much on this materialistic aspect, and the women that will throw at you once you have success, should be handled with scepticism. Of course there are people with everday jobs that have girlfriends, and also decent girlfriends, and somtiems even really beautiful girlfriends.
    Its more about if oyu are a good, responsible, likable, trustworthy person. I mean people fall in love, click and so on. On the other hand you have successful guys, who just arent good with women, maybe arent likable even, not charming etc. and still wont have much luck with women. You can have charming, good looking, funny guys who just know how to speak with women and seduce them., and dont have a good job, maybe not even a good life overall.

    • @Captain_MonsterFart
      @Captain_MonsterFart 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I agree. And then there's different ways of "getting" women. Some guys have a real knack for one night stands, but does that really count for anything?
      I've had various boyfriends in my life, and none of them have been investment bankers. Some were even welfare bums in my younger years. I'd go for a trustworthy responsible taxi driver before some alpha male throwing money around any day.

    • @pocnit
      @pocnit 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Polite Q Well, this is the gap I always see with this type of thinking, and this is a reply to both comments above: the obvious question here is, if you're trustworthy, responsible, hardworking, charismatic, funny or otherwise have great traits and principles, WHY aren't you succesful?
      It's almost like a self-defeating idea, how can you be so great if you can't provide anything of value to the community around you? There's a reason why these guys are ex-boyfriends, perhaps they were welfare bums but you saw potential in them. Potential that perhaps at some point you realized would never be put to good use, and you moved on.
      Also, nobody said you can't get a girlfriend working in McDonalds. It's just that many guys who are low status(read:pretty useless) delude themselves into thinking that they'll get a smoking hot, intelligent, funny, sociable and feminine woman. Not unlike fat women with short blue hair who dream about charming 6'4 men who are "ambitious and know what they want to do with their lives".
      Sometimes you might get lucky, be a bum and get an amazing girlfriend for an year or two, but it was never going to last.

    • @WHOTHAFUCK
      @WHOTHAFUCK 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      very true. to all the other guys talking about "results" and "rising to the top" and "being successfull" - there are only so many "succesfull places" in society. its all relative. not everyone can be a top-earner. if you are rattling on about making big money and success and that that is the only way to get good women i have to simply guess that you are a real-life "loser" type or at least not very good with women. just take a step outside and look at REALITY: mating, mens and womens decisions in their sex- and love-life is very random. and nearly EVERYONE has a good amount of CHANCE and POTENTIAL if he is a relatively stable person. you dont have to be rich or "succesfull" in the economical way. just have some passion about something, anything really. LIVE DAMMIT.

      The problem today is that we base a man's value almost entirely on his ability to acquire and have sex with females. Important traits most likely to profit humankind more like morality, intelligence, virtue, compassion, innovation and resourcefulness get tossed to the wayside. It is a very alarming revelation of society when we value a person's good looks (which in most cases takes no effort or discipline to achieve) over something like intelligence (leads to creation of ideas/inventions), compassion (strengthens communities), or morality (provides a code of conduct, a foundation for any strong society).

      Who determines status? Nameless, faceless people who are clinically insane. As a man we're always told what to do or what to be, but not how to do or how to be...It's set up. Mr. Peterson is a very smart and educated man who has done nothing important in his life. Case in point, I work armed security and am considered 'low status'. However, high status males need me to protect them from thugs, because they don't know how to.. The servant may become the master. Now this is how to gain status. Live life your way. Get hobbies you like, exercise so you can project an image of power, strength and good health, take the protein powders too. Read books that teach you things, I like 19th Century Russian lit. You don't have too. Dress sharp, in a manner the projects an authentic image of 'I'm here and I'm the man!' Remember women are taught the same values as a prostitutes live so who cares what they think. Do what I do, here's a real life example. I'm in my mid-forties, I'm jogging down the street and get hit on by young stuff. The conversation ended like this 'Scott I'm sure you're a nice guy but as a security guard you'll never have enough money to support me or the two kids I already have...end quote'. My high status answer? Quote 'How much money to you charge for a 'B....Job?' as I kept on jogging.

    • @etinarcadiaego7424
      @etinarcadiaego7424 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Scott Wahrenberger So wait, the gist of what you are is "I'm more important than highly educated men who spent years getting where they are because I can kick the crap out of people. Also, all women are whores." There is a reason military types should never hold the reigns of power. You are not qualified to rule just because you are good at killing people. We are supposed to be a democracy, not a military dictatorship. You want that, move to Africa.
