Vaccine is a preparation of live attenuated or inactivated organisms or their antigenic constituent which are formulated as to stimulate immunity.
Vaccination is a process of injecting vaccine as the prophylactic measure.
Bacterial vaccines are of four types
1) Live attenuated vaccine
2) Killed whole cell vaccine
3) Subunit vaccine and
4) Toxoid
Vaccines are produced for vaccination as
a) Whole organism attenuated form,
b) Killed bacterial cell
c) We can use various components of bacteria- capsular protein
Steps involved in bacterial vaccine production
1) Selection of organisms:-
2) Preparation of seed lot:-
3) These ampoules are used for the future or large production
4) Collection of bacterial harvest
5) Separation
6) Fractionation
7) Absorption and conjugation
8) Blending
9) Drying and filling
