We got a cat right as a kitten as soon as he was able to go home with us, he's fed and watered has all kinds of toys and people to love him has his life made yet he continues at night to go downstairs and piss all over everything I'm talking in my pots and pans on my kitchen counters in front of the front door, on my daughter's bed like there's no reason and there's nothing stressing him out so what do you suggest? We have legit tried everything with him and nothing has worked we're about to give him up it's that bad

My female cat is about 7 or 8 years old, 8 months ago we moved to a country home, and she has been doing her business outside just fine. All of a sudden, she has begun peeing in weird places... like on my kitchen counter top cutting board, or ontop my dryer... I'm currently 8 months pregnant... not sure if that may be a factor? How do I get her to stop??

A lady just moved into our house and we're also babysitting another cat but I'm not sure if any of those things might be the cause. But they might be. AcanLord same. I brought the cat into the house but now I really wanna throw him out. He's scared of everything, plastic bags, the vaccuum, bottles, people. He always keeps pissing in my bed which is beginning to tire me out, since his piss is absorbed through all the layers, even through the mattress. My parents are a also beginning to blame me for it saying that he doesn't like me and that I'm abusing him when I haven't done anything. My sister thinks that it's because my bed is messy, although he is potty trained I guess he's a tidy cat, but idk anymore. If he was a human, I'd slap him tbh
Give me a break! you talk to a veterinarian about this they are the only ones who can check it out and fix it. It can be a medical issue.

I have literally tried everything to stop my cats from urinating on my couch, vet visits, calming aid, litter boxes, toys, herbs, Jackson Galaxy products, absolutely nothing works to stop it from happening. There has been little to no change in my household. My roommate has been here for 3 months and nothing is working. I am literally on my last thread of patience, literally one more time and I am done with them I will surrender them to the shelter or a rescue because I am literally done.

Your cat really does need to be neutered for so many reason. Present the benefits: 1) less smell and peeing around the house 2) less likely to roam if he does get outside 3) most cat pregnancies = 4 to 6 unwanted kittens who may end up dying as ferals or in the pound. Female cats can't get pregnant if there's no fertile male around. 4) your cat is much safer indoors and, having lost a couple of cats to cars, it's a terribly sad and unnecessary measure to take. 5) taking a cat to the vet for emergency car-accident surgery is much more expensive than neutering.
If money is a problem, call your local animal shelter and ask for referral to a low-cost spay/neuter clinic. If you have trouble talking to your parents directly about this, just print out these comments and give them to your parents.
Neutering your cat is the responsible thing to do, and I'm sure your parents want to teach you responsible actions by their own example.
Your cat is spraying, with is a worse smell than cat urine. He does need to be fixed simply for his own health, but sometimes this will not stop him from spraying. Some male cats will continue to spray even after they have been fixed. If your parents do get him fixed there are ways to keep him from spraying. One of these ways, is to keep other dominate males out of the house, remove any females in heat, and if neither of these work. Get a black light and search the areas you know he has sprayed and clean them off. If he is urinating out of his box you want to make sure his box is clean. Some cats are picky and will only use their box if it is clean. You can also try changing the litter, use a different brand or go with something more natural. If neither of these work it could be something medical. Cats will urinate on furniture, clothes, etc if they are ill or even stressed. You can also use the black light to locate cat urine and clean that up too. Never punish your cat for urinating outside of his box for this will only confuse him and make him scared. Hopefully you will be able to work things out with your parents and they will agree to keep him, if getting him fixed is too much money for your family you can always contact your local ASPCA and find out if they have a program to neuter strays. I know the one near me does offer that for cats, you will get your cat back and he will have been fixed. I hope this information has helped.

You should definitely get the cat desexed before you let it outdoors..

I have a 20 1/2 yr old male (neutered) just in the last week, he’s been producing LARGE amounts of (clear almost odorless) urine and doesn’t use the litter box except for poop. Has been going on opposite side of inside porch where there’s no litter box. So, puppy pads.... he soaks them to the point that they are not enough... not sure what to do!!!

I mop almost every damn day with Angry Orange but it doesn’t stop him from doing it again. I had to put my 16 year old male cat down last year because he was doing the same thing. The vet said he was too old to hold his bladder. I ran out of the vet room crying. I was devastated and now I have to go through it again. I’m crying as I’m writing this. When I got home, I disinfected the house for two damn days and now I’m going through the same thing, again. I can tell he’s just getting old. His eyes have a glare and he cry’s all day. I hate when people give me crap and tell me “take him to the vet! it might be curable” but I’m a college student barely getting by. The ASPCA put my cat down for free. Ugh, I don’t know what to do. Sorry for my rant. I’m just beyond frustrated and sad at the same time.

@@user-nu3sd7zb2j Oh wow, it’s been a year since I posted this. He’s doing so much better. We landed up giving our dog to a family member and he hasn’t had one accident since then. He’s the only male in the house so I think it was a territorial thing, even though he’s fixed. He’s still a little dumb but he’s healthy and happy.😀

My mom says she might throw him outside if it keeps happening and its getting on her nerves. My dad said if she does that shes not gonna like the things he has to say about it. Then they said that if the cat gets kicked out then they will probaly get a divorce. I really hope thid helps.

I have 5 cats all neutered and spayed. All indoor. I have 2 cations also so they can have own space, 5 cat trees 8 beds under living room tables and off to side and 2 out in open . I have cat perches and 4 litter robots and a big regular cat box that's open . One of my cats pis pissing on walls ,my carpet on bedroom doors countertops. He has been UTI tested 4 times in past 3 years. Hes on prozac. Theres no bullies in house. Its quiet here ,not a lot of company. I use feliway spray and defuser all over the house, I have a calming collar on him too. I've done everything. I just cant take it anymore. I spent thousands of dollars on this issue. I put toys all over , put food bowls by the areas,beds,catnip, beds. He pees on them.

our cat was 11 years old. We had not had him neutered because all the other cats we had were neutered or spayed. As soon as we got him neutered, he stopped peeing in places other than the litter box and his EXTREMELY agressive behavior ceased. He is a sweet cat now. He still stalks the other cats occasionally but other than that, he is great.

Well, you can find guides that solve this and other training issues. Instead of the expensive sprays, you can guide your cat to "not think out of the box". HaHa! I found out what we were doing wrong and quickly solved what my cat's communication problem was. There is a vast amount of information on the Internet, but most of it is useless. The enzyme product you can buy online or from a pet store, any enzyme cat urine cleaner. The surgical spirit is same as isopropyl alcohol, you can buy from bunnings or a hardware store. She says to first treat with an enzyme cleaner then go over it later with the surgical spirit to remove the smell. Enzyme cleaners should kill the enzymes that make the smell, but I always find some smell remains behind, so I am going to try the isopropyl alcohol for that.

Also, so many people such as vets that said there are 2 kittens inside my female cat's belly that are dead and we should remove them. We didn't believe him and he was lying about it. My cat likes to pee on fluffy cusheny things like towels, blankets, or sweaters. It's an easy fix cause I can just soak the stuff in vinegar and baking soda and then wash it. Most of this advice won't help my case with my cat since she doesn't pee on carpets or random spots in the house. She will literally hunt down the comfiest thing she can find and piss all over it. So I always have to keep the house clean and tidy. I don't let anyone leave their sweaters or blankets on the couch cause I've learned there's no way to get rid of cat piss from couch cushions. There is no cure!! I've tried it all! She will piss on whatever you left on the couch and the piss will soak through everything. If I can't wash a sweater or a blanket out, I'll try a few times, if that doesn't work, it's toast, right in the dumpster it goes. She's a little shit rat haha she wants the house clean I guess so that's her way of telling me to keep things tidy and put things away.

Plus I put so much effort into my cats life I wouldn't just throw it away because it has its moments. That's like getting sick and tired of a child that just want put the milk away so you just put it up for adoption.
Angie B yeah, everybody has different values of love for animals. But I consider animals as equal value to humans. My husband doesn't see my point of view and gas the same thoughts about children like you do. He gets frustrated cause it's like I put my animals and children on the same pedasil. But my pets are like my children. I love them just the same. I understand if people don't have the same feelings as I do, but I can't help what I feel.

In my opinion as soon as a cat pisses or shits on the floor of a house that smell will remain even though the piss and shit has been cleaned away. The owner of the house will not smell anything because they live there but any visitors will smell the piss and shit. Cat piss and shit is the worse smell ever even when a litter tray is used because as soon as the cat pisses and shits the smell hits the nose.

My cat lives with another cat and it went well for nearly over a year, about a month or two ago he began to pee on our things (our bed, ours clothes, etc.) We didn't know what to do so we just cleaned it up. He now just peed on our guests bed and my parents just said that thats it "He's going out". So now I am desperate and I NEED a fast solution. My parents are done with him and won't spend any money on the issue so keep that in mind.

watch jackson galaxys vidoes here on youtube about cats peeing outside the litterbox! but some things you need to get to first if theres a pee problem, go to the vet! he may be having some physical problem that may couse the odd behaviour. second, how many cats/other pets do you have? how many litterboxes? what litter do you use? how often do you clean the litterbox?
