hi everyone ,if anyone else is searching for cat urinating inside try Kiamiin Meow Genie (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my cousin got great results with it.
Me too 😩😩 I hate it. I can’t get rid of it. Love my cats but I can’t handle this anymore. Thinking of getting rid of them. They have clean litter. I have two of them there one years old. But I can’t have them peeing them on everything. They literally took over the living room . And they have three cat litter box. One in the bathroom one in the living by the door. And one in the hallway closet.
1. Spay and neuter before 6 months, 2 enrich their lives with play time 3.provide cat trees and cat furniture cats are very territorial. 4. Everything this guy is talking about is on point .
@@josephallen4467 Joseph, I hope you’re heading towards better times. Try searching pet rescue groups. In Canada sometimes these groups help cover those costs for those who need the financial assistance. Best of luck.
@Joseph Allen You're homeless and have a cell phone? How are you paying for the cats food??? You can look for a cat rescue clinic to have the cat spayed or neutered.
@@Hunterbenx objective is to confirm he has a cell phone. If he reduces his plan he could use it for cat food. He should probably give kitty to the shelter so he's properly taken care of.
when i lay down cat nip for my boy, i often sweep the floor and push it towards his litter box, this encourages him to use his box and I scoop his box every two days and change his box once every two weeks. his box is mixed with fresh step & tidy cat inside of an tall closed litter box encloser. with an litter pad and a trash bag folded on top. everyday when i come home from work i've got to sweep the floor cause his litter and catnip is everywhere which is a very good sign that he's taking to his box' and my boy is very heathly.
I change the litterbox out every single day and one of my 3 cats is spraying everything!! I have a small house so didn't want a bunch of litterboxes but I'm gonna try it as a last resort before they get put outside....
My cat wants to go out every night, and usually I don't mind. But last night there was a freeze warning, so I didn't let him out. And his stress level went to 100!! We woke up to everything in our house just about sprayed on!! Even my jacket, and he pee'd on my daughter!! Now my arm smells like his spray! Because I didn't realize my jacket was wet!! I've never been thru this and omg I can't stand it!!
@Gail Ramage Did you give her the meds as prescribed? For antidepressants to work, you have to follow strict guidelines. And it takes a full month for them to work in the first place. A lot of people give up before then because they don't think it's working. They also need to be given everyday without fail, and work best when they're given at the same time everyday.
My cat has been here a week: she is two and this is the second time she has been rehomed as an adult. So no wonder she is stressed. I am trying not to panic, do all the right things, and give her time. She is seeing the vet next week anyway for her vaccines.
My cats became outdoor cats. The house smells clean and fresh again. The female cats are happier. The trees are their jungle gyms, they chase mice and birds. They were all fixed when they sprayed up our whole house. It’s been almost a year now, they’re all doing fine. And we don’t live in filth👍🏼
@@nyleah411 I guess that's one of the advantages of living in the south! I'm in Ohio and in the city... really wish I could do this with my cats!! Especially the asshole one who keeps peeing in the house!
I have a scottish fold. Having him play outside by himself is definitely out of question 😅 he'll be kidnapped in an instant. I just do litter management and clean him up after he pooped. My house is clean n have no cat odor 🙂
@@powerofknowledge7771 Lol! I totally get it…we kept walking into our house from the fresh air outside and it smelled like cat musk and B.O😳. I had the window open while I was washing dishes ( after we put the cats all outside) and one of them jumped up onto the window ledge and pointed her butt at me and sprayed the screen!! If you had told me before that, that female cats spray, I wouldn’t have believed it!! I wish there was a way to train them:( Our house smells clean now, it’s been over a year but I don’t regret it one bit!
My cat just peed on my laptop, feet, pillows, and literally just anywhere including almost my homework, what's scary is he doesn't give a warning when he's going to do it,help.
@@lorenaa28 I'm serious, after several times my cat learned. It stinks so much and she loves to do it on the rug next to my shower. Imagine stepping right out of the shower when you're clean to a cold wet spot and was like oh what's this... WTF KITTEH!
it's a different tyoe of heartbreak when you love your cat so much but also making your living conditions so insufferable to the point your mentak health gets affected. just cat piss everywhere, nothing works, it's so sad
I work a graveyard shift, every time when I head home and jump to my bed, my male cat jumps and starts to pee on my bed. I clean the litter box 3 times a week and there’s 3 litter trays! I’m really annoyed lol!
@@faithafterdark7801 no I didn't, when I was litter training my kittens I cleaned it every day so they were litter trained in only 2 days. Im just stating what worked for me

Cali did have a UTI, but after two weeks of antibiotics and a complete blood and urine work-up, she has no issues with diabetes or infection. Everything came back normal, she is a completely healthy cat. We have tried Gabapentin, two litter boxes, one exactly where she keeps peeing outside the box and just now we replaced one of the pee pads and then put her food and water dishes exactly where she had peed. Within 10 minutes, she was peeing right next to her food and water dish. I scolded her and put her in the bathroom, where she always uses the litter for both peeing and pooping, but once she has access to the carpeting, she pees right outside the bathroom door. We have shampooed the carpet using a pet odor enzyme additive, even pulling up the carpet and pad spraying them with the enzyme odor control. We have used the Miracle Brand odor enzyme spray with repellant, but it has not made any difference. We now have pee pads down, which, fortunately, she has not ventured into any other part of the home to pee. This was one of the rare moments where she peed directly in front of us. We have ordered her diapers and they are to be here tomorrow. We believe it is a behavior issue as she hates us spending time with our other cat. She has tried to kill her when she has come in contact with her, twice. She was brought home from the Humane Society, and they said she got along with other cats. Our younger cat liked to bite, so we thought that she needed a playmate to learn how to behave. We love them both, but this is ridiculous!
I tried to bring another cat into my home too but both cats started spraying each other, all the walls, carpet, everything!!! I gave away the new cat to a home that had no other pets so hopefully it worked out better.
One of my 2 cats (both neutered males) has taken to painting all of my walls, furniture, and anything else he can reach. I was horrified when I got a UV light. He never did that in all of the 9 years I've had him and didn't when I got him a buddy (they love each other and did so right away) but when a strange black cat started showing up outside both of my cats went nuts and the older one (9) started his wall painting, as well as the curtains out in the kitty room. I can't keep up with it. My cats are indoor cats so it's not like the stray is actually going to get in here but they both hate him (and he is weird...my neighbor's cats hate him too). I've tried cleaning with a pet urine enzyme and then spraying some "No More Spraying" but that hasn't worked. He's a sneaky little bugger too; he waits until he thinks I'm not looking and then does it. He's learned that the minute I see him backing his butt up to something he gets yelled at.
can your cats see the other cat through the window? Cat's dont appreciate a glass window being a physical barrier so seeing the other cat, even in places though don't go, will stress them out. The other thing to try is to put some cat repellent outside your house to deter the other cat. finally, something like feliway is also likely to help. Good luck
After adopting our 9 year old male cat 2 years ago, we had no incidents of spraying until about a month ago. We were told by the shelter that he was an indoor cat. But since he wanted to see the outside so desperately we started to take him out with us to the backyard after a year for short bursts . He loved being outside and recently started spraying different bushes. However, neighbours’ cats have started to upset him late at night, hanging around the yard and sometimes even coming up to a few of our windows and he has started running around to the different windows and spraying inside. We’re thinking we shouldn’t take him outside anymore.
Cats don’t recognise a window as a solid barrier so a stranger cat coming up to one can be super stressful. Could you just keep your cat inside in a different room that the cats can’t come up to?
So 1 of our 2 male cats has started spraying again. He used to do it all the time on our old couch that’s turned upside down (for storage) in the basement. He also was getting on the top and urinating on it… i ended up spraying the spots with cleaner and covering the couch that they were doing it on with tin foil and he stopped. It’s been months. My wife and i now have a brand new 2 month old baby and he’s back to doing it again… noticed a spray spot in the corner of the basement the other day. One of them (likely the same one) is also urinating on the concrete on one side of the basement as well. Multiple spots. I have been cleaning the urination spots, also put ton foil and he is still doing it. Also she’s not showing the cat as much affection and i think this may be partly to blame. We have 3 litter boxes and try to keep them cleaned often. Food and water bowls are here upstairs. Any suggestions?! This is growing utterly frustrating and i am sick of cleaning and cleaning! :(. Any suggestions would GREATLY be appreciated!! 🙏🏼
I've had my shelter rescue for about 1 month. She is fixed and had no issue using the litter box the first month we had her. No problems at all. Now all of a sudden as soon as night falls she goes from every window to the door, meows like crazy, and is now spraying everywhere. This JUST started happening. We're on the second floor so I don't even see how there could suddenly be some drastic change outside that's affecting her this badly and there's no way a random cat is coming up our stairs and hanging out by our door. I never even see cats around our apartment. Now that she's started spraying and peeing on the floor she's doing it nonstop. I haven't seen her use her litter box at all today and she used to use it constantly. I don't know what changed. I'm going to take her to the vet as soon as possible but I cannot have a cat just peeing everywhere in the house. So far nothing online is giving me any advice relevant to my situation. I'm so frustrated I could scream.
@shoz2502 I looked up ovarian remnant syndrome, and the vet agreed that that might be the most likely issue. It's when your cat is fixed but there remains some bits of ovarian tissue. Just enough that your cat still has heat cycles. HOWEVER, since she went out of heat that one time, she hasn't gone back into it. Once she calmed down she stopped spraying, meowing, and lifting up her butt like a cat in heat does. My plan at the vet was to wait until she went into her heat cycle again before operating on her to find the remaining ovary piece. However, since she hasn't had any issues since, I'm just keeping my fingers crossed. I have no clue why she was going so hard spraying everywhere to suddenly being a normal cat again but I'm not complaining. If for some reason it starts again, she will likely need that surgery. It's been several months so hopefully we're in the clear.
I have 6 cats, a few of them hate each other so they go to random surfaces in the house and try to claim their part of the house and its stressing my mom out a lot. She doesnt know which one it is that keeps peeing in her room and I’m trying to keep her from giving them away but I can’t watch the cats all day. It’s a frustrating helpless mess.
Unfortunately, with 6 cats there is going to be a lot of stress, especially as you know they don't all get on. Hopefully this will help - th-cam.com/video/FncqZ8C-Q-k/w-d-xo.html
When they do it their tail wiggles back and forth real fast. Spray is thick like a yellow green oil. Stinky stuff. I heard it comes out of a gland in their but. So basically cat emptying his prostrate on the wall or curtain.. snippy snippy slows it down but doesn’t stop it.
Thank you! When we got our cat he already wasn’t a kitten, so he picked up the spraying habit. Getting him a cat tower so he feels welcome enough to stop!
white vinegar and baking powder works the best to get the spray smell out of furniture etc.. and as it dries the odar leaves...it will not harm the cat...
I have two cats. They’ve begun peeing on soft surfaces like my rugs and the bottoms of my curtains. I can’t get the smell out of my house and I’m losing hope. The cats belong to my sons so I want to do everything I can to remedy the problem. They are also pooping in our bathtubs. They will use the restroom on any soft surface like in my sons play tent so I have to keep my boys rooms closed at all times and I can’t take it anymore. I really want our house and life back to normal. Any information is helpful please.
Some cats act out. It's a behavior thing. I tried multiple litter boxes and using the pheromone spray. Nothing worked. Cats are just like humans. Some are just assholes.
Try Prozac! Yes, they prescribe it for animals for behavioral issues... peeing, pooping, spraying everywhere is a behavioral issue. The cats are all jealous of each other. That's why they're doing it. My oldest cat started doing it after getting 2 cats and 1 dog within a year of each other. The dog is what did her in. Prozac counterbalanced that.
I have a 13 year old female who constantly sprays on our kitchen counter! On the microwave or plug sockets, around the kettle. The latter of which are near a window. She has a cat flap and a litter tray. She's been spraying for years and nothing I try works!! Plug ins etc. Nothing! It's getting far to stressful at home now and so much is damaged because of it. Please help me 😩😩
Leon - Me too! 😲 I was laying in bed reading, & he hopped up beside me. A few seconds later, he _sprayed_ me! So there I was at 2am, taking a shower & changing my bed.
Our cat started spraying our house. I can’t take that. I had to ban my cat from my room and my children room. He has his appointment next week. If this doesn’t help then he will be an outdoor cat 🐈
Our cat is spraying in the house as he is stressed. We have a cat-flap that is linked to his chip BUT the neighbours cat tailgates him and comes in to eat his food. Do you have any suggestions to help please.
Is there any way you could put a few barriers in front of the flap to make it harder to tailgate your cat or change the location to a window where they have to jump onto a small windowsill to get through the flap?
I'm literally praying that i can find the answer to why my cat is doing it!!! I love him so much! He is a rescue baby we found abandoned a yr ago and our adult children are all grown with familys of their own so our cat is our baby now and he knows it 😂 I'm on a waiting list to get him fixed since I couldn't afford a vet unfortunately. They all wanted approximately 600$ yikes 😬. Were on a fixed income and that's more than half of what we get each month. Anywho, God bless everyone reading and I hope we all find the help we desperately need here!
Another tip is I have a black light flashlight that I use every night to go around and locate any marking that I may not have previously found. It’s helpful so I can clean it up immediately. If it goes undetected, it’s likely they will mark there again. Good luck!
Our cat Puffy has been driving the entire family crazy with his spraying everywhere. We bought de-scenting sprays and special cleaners, which he ignored and re-marked all over the house... Some advice? Thank you.
Definitely stressful time for me I am literally losing my hair my allergies are through the roof the vet say that female cats don’t mark territory she sprays and urinates everywhere I am curing her stress” with meds by the vet but nothing has changed I always have a headache because of the smell I’ve tried everything but nothing is changing with her she is around 1-2 years old and just started doing this I can’t get her fixed until she is off her meds but this is causing my alopicia which is hair loss to act out even more I’ve have t had hair lost since 5th grade I’m 33 now and I’m so stressed because of her behavior I have no clue why she is stressed nothing has changed at all in my home not food not litter not people nothing I take her outside with me very often I clean the litter everyday ! And I have two litter boxes and she will only use one I just can’t deal with the stress I’ve tried all these steps ! Pee on my bed ! On my curtains and I’m not putting a litter box on my bed and she pee on this curtain which is by her bowl SO urine will be by her bowl she doesn’t mind I literally wash my curtains more then twice a week I don’t tell or scream at her I am just stressed 😥
I just remodeled my house, and I’ve done a major cleanup, covered my furniture after cleaning the furniture I come home from work and my house smell like it has been bathed in cat urine. And she won’t stop. I’m ready to get rid of her.
My cat was neutered 3 weeks ago and he hasn’t stopped. He urinates and also marks.. it’s driving me insane. Love him so much but can’t handle it if it continues much longer
@@Wut3verR1cky Yes! I was very frustrated at the time but turns out he just needed more time than most cats to stop the behavior. Likely because we didn't get him neutered until he was after 1 yrs old so he developed the habit of it, but in the end he hasn't had a single incident since like week 3-4!!
When my female cat is in the heating it gets me so nervous, she pees in some specific corners in the house , and repeat it everyday until the heating ends (she has this period week by week ) I ve tried to clean it and then add some vinegar to that corner , still the same ! She comes back to each spot and pee ! 😩😩
This is my situation with my brothers cat. Totally fine when not in heat, but when she is, geeze... making her rounds to each spray spot literally every 5 minutes. Now if only my brother would get her spayed.
I have a cat about 7 or 8 months old, 2 days ago, she would intentionally go out of her way just to pee on my other cat's bed, first time we thought it's because its time to neuter her, after the surgery which was done 2 days ago, she did it again on my other cat's bed. We had to throw the bed away so she would stop, now we are trying to play with her but she seems upset having the cone around her neck. And my other cat is more upset that we threw away his bed
My son introduced a new cat into the house last year and my 16-yr old time is stressed and is spraying the whole house. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance
I have 24 so this was definitely my issue but not as bad as you think. It happened every now and again but my bunch is a good bunch now for the most part. I didn’t know stress was such a normal thing for vets so I can’t wait to give them some CBD.
Once one of my male cats sprayed the lenin i have on my normal seat. I cut in half a lemon and rubbed/cleaned it with that. 10 min later i found it still smelled. so i got the lemon and really rubbed it in and all over the area even past the border on both sides. No more smell after that, Whew.
I first cleaned it with dettol spray then as i am allergic to dettol I used vinegar spray.it is a wooden door he is aiming at :-0 He started spraying a new area once the neighbourhood male cats started visiting our garden this spring. The are craving my beautiful neutered cats but they can’t get in.

My home is a cat magnet. of the six cats that spend most of their days at my house, only two are actually mine. Their mother, who belongs to a neighbor has recently taken to spray marking throughout my home. My bed, couch and drapes have all been marked. I don't know what to do. She had a litter of kittens and eventually brought them all to my house when they were about two weeks old. they are all outside cats and come and go as they please though a pet door. I did adopt two of her kittens. She did not spray like this before and as her boys have grown to now almost a year old, she is now seemingly marking the house as if to tell them "this is my house". I dont know if she expects them to leave. I really do not know what to do. I have shared with my neighbor and she is somewhat in disbelief because she did spay her cat after it gave birth and kind of doesnt believe me its her cat that is spraying but I have watched her do it right in front of me and so I know it is her. Bottom line, do not know what to do. I no longer keep a litter box in the house as the boys have learned to go outside to do their business. Besides the spraying, I believe another cat who is much older and who has lived in the home for many years now has also taken to peeing on the floor. I am not sure what all of this sudden undesirable activity is coming from and I am pretty much over all the cat pee. What should I do?
My male cat keeps spraying everyehere like every 5 min. We first thought that it was because he is always drinking water. And we have many cats and almost are afraid of him or having a fight
I went to the vet and they told my boy is healthy. He is adopted recently. I have a female cat with me. He likes to stalk her but she doesn’t like him. I’m not sure if that’s the problem but from spraying, now he kept urinating at my couch. I used feliway he stopped. Recently he started it again by peeing on the rug (same area as the couch). The thing is he uses the litter and we do clean it out frequently and we put 2 litterbox for both of them. Only when it is at night then he will start peeing everywhere. I’m so tired of it my mum keep scolding me, scolding him. I don’t know what to do anymore.
If feliway helped then stress will be the cause (assuming he's started again for the same reason). this might help more - th-cam.com/video/FncqZ8C-Q-k/w-d-xo.html Scolding him is only going to add to the stress and make the problem worse
I took in my step daughters cat, I felt bad because her step dad hated him, he would throw him like a rag doll down the steps, according to her the cat is loving being in my home but the passed few weeks we kept smelling pee but couldn’t find it until we finally watched him pee or spray whatever it is doing & omg he just won’t stop & he’s far from stressed the cat has everything possible now, I’ve had cats in the past and they NEVER did this, I don’t have all kinds of money to take it to get tested so I’m seriously considering putting him outside bc i have a sensitive nose and I’m disgusted he’s peeing on towels, beds, clothes everything else but the damn litter box I’m beyond frustrated
I love how everyone is talking about their pet cats, While here I'm stuck with a stray cat (one we gave food to randomly and just last month she became comfy enough to let us stroke us, but is still a stray that comes by randomly) spraying everywhere in my room, especially the curtain and on my bed. I need help (´;ω;`)
I rescued a Spayed Female cat 2 years ago. In the last year there were no problems even while I was traveling for 2-6 months at a time from TX AL FL TX CA LA. 7 months ago just she and I moved into a 3rd-story apartment that overlooks a giant lake, so all day long she gets to watch birds, ducks and squirrels. I have not made any changes, I'm home 24/6, and just 1 day a week I'll leave for 3-4 hours. ~She used to always sleep next to me all throughout the night, but in the last week she has been sleeping on the floor and will rarely ever jump up on the bed. I haven't even changed my laundry detergent. The 2X that she has sprayed this week, it was somewhere(?) in the front room during the middle of the night. ~The 1st time she sprayed I was able to clear out the odor after leaving the sliding glass door wide open for 48 hours. Last night it scent seems much stronger and I don't know where(?) she is doing it, so I don't know where to clean.
My cat is just spiteful he will spray on me while im sleeping he will spray on our food and drinks. Clothes so i finally snaped and rubed a rag full of his urine. On his face and has stoped spraying .
I feed a stray cat out my back door. He sneeks in and sprays the curtains. I washed 3 curtains yesterday, 3 other curtains today. I have to wash my robes. I’m at my wits end. What can I do?
So I just had this happen to me tonight. My neutered cat just came in and sprayed in my room. He has never done this before. Nothing new no changes just another day. I’m so stressed right now and he is outside until we get him to the vet just in case.
Hey! Can you help me? So the problem is, that we had two cats, a boy and a girl, both of them are castrated. They sprayed in the house, and outside. Our female cat sudently left and never came back, we searched for her but thats another story. After she left, our boy stopped spraying, yes, they never got along but we still kept them. So, I am now fostering a little castrated boy kitty, we fell in love with him, and we want to keep him, but we have our old cat, who doesn't like other cats and sprays, how to stop that and how to get them to like each other?
Here's a video on how to introduce a new cat to your house. hope that helps along with the tips in this video - th-cam.com/video/o3RYQWFtACw/w-d-xo.html
hope these tips help. The problem with peeing on electronics is that they are almost impossible to clean properly and when they warm up they increasingly emit the scent that this is the place to toilet
Definitely neutered my cat and she still spraying 🙄😒🙄and I’ve noticed she sprays when she’s excited or mad 😠 I’ve two litter boxes two bowls and I clean the litter everyday and the same litter since before I I found her in front of my house under a car .. and it’s closed in and in the dark hallway in my house it’s been there for years now and she still spraying and if she stresses as many times as she sprays she is one “ stressed out “ cat smh 🤦🏻♀️ and I’ve tried putting her food bowl where she sprays and she still sprays on the food or water bowl she doesn’t care I’m sick of cleaning the same spots everyday multiple times a day she’s fixed I got her fixed last month and still I can’t deal I may give her up this been going on for almost two years now couldn’t get her fixed any sooner because she had asthma idk how cuz no one smoked then she got a uti got her shots had to wait for everything to be clear and the pandemic was hard to make vet appointments definitely can’t deal with this smell daily cleaning the same spots everyday
I ended up here trying to find out why my neighbor's cat started spraying on my sofa. She's usually well behaved and friendly. I now feel guilty for shouting at her. I understand she probably feels stressed and cautious with the new neighborhood cats that have been passing by my home lately.
My male cat climbs up on pile of clothes and urinates😢 what could possibly be wrong? Surely not arthritis if he can jump on to a chair but use a litter tray on ground?
My cat has no tail so I can’t tell if he is spraying, just sprayed on my AC unit he mostly sprays in the sink or front door but this was the first for the AC unit.
I’ve had my cat since he was 3 days old. Found him under a house and he started spraying/peeing around 8/9 months. He’s 1 year and 6 months now and he still pees or sprays on everything and rips the carpet to cover it up, on the walls, pillows, anything he feels like I guess. I’m worried about giving him away because idk if anyone would deal with him & I have a baby due in February and I just know he’s gonna freak out over a tiny baby added into our home. It’ll drive me crazier if he does pee or spray on her baby things. ☹️ I feel like giving him away is my only option because I feel like his problem is so badly. I live in an apartment and he hates outside so I feel like he’s stressed out about being cramped maybe but he literally is scared to go outside… 😕 I’m so lost
@@AaAaAccslytrflp yeah... no im also about to have a baby and if my male cats pees on my baby and sprays all over all this very high cost baby stuff.... he is out of here sorry not sorry
It's so disgusting when irresponsible, bad pet owners just throw their pets away like garbage just because they are too lazy to solve a problem. Absolutely zero respect for garbage like this that just tosses their pet out. Pathetic.
I’m in the same boat as you. I’m expecting my 3rd child and both of our cats are doing this daily! It’s becoming impossible to relax and enjoy them anymore because it’s not a surprise anymore. It happens so often we honestly want to rehome them, but no one wants cats that piss on everything.
HELP PLEASE! I rescued my cat at 3 weeks, she was in a tire of a car. She got the hang of the litter box pretty well & was using it all the time until she realized she could pee on things left on the floor. First it was the bathroom rug, then she moved to peeing under the bed & in the closets so we took the carpets out of the room & put hardwood floors in all the rooms & it seemed to fix the problem until she started peeing on ANYTHING left on the floor- she started peeing in my room under the bed also & thats where she pees the most in different spots under my bed. I have a room that is added onto the house & my room is the only room with carpet now. I understand you thinking well just take the carpet out & put hardwood floors in there but with it being an add on room(sun room) it gets extremely cold in the winter so it’s not ideal for us to take the carpet out..... we have another cat but she is a year older & they get along well & they both have their own litter boxes. My brother just recently got a puppy but they get along really well they took to each other right away & are practically best friends. I don’t know what to do because I feel like she is peeing everywhere just because she can.
working through the steps in this video really should help. Cat's are intrinsically clean animals so she is certainly not doing it just because she can
I have a year old cat. We have one litter for him. He uses his litter. But he likes to pee in corners of the house. He pee on our countertops. We try to keep our room doors closed because he likes to run and pee in the corners or hop in our sinks to pee in it. We have to keep our closets clothes or he'll be in there he doesn't poop but he pees what should we do we're at the point of giving him away. First he had a scratching problem we fix that by putting scratchers everywhere in the house and got him a tree.
are you cleaning with an enzyme cleaner (there's a good one here - www.amazon.com/shop/ourpetshealth )? I'd also add another couple of trays just to break the habit, as well as just getting him checked over to make sure he's not suffering from any bladder problem. All of these comments of owners complaining about their cats spraying make me feel that neutering my cat wouldn't solve this 😔 it's so hard to keep my cat in a good mood all the time especially he is not just spraying he is peeing anywhere he wants and it's so exhausting.
neutering reduces spraying by about 95% but is not a guaranteed cure-all. Equally, stopping spraying in an entire cat is very challenging if they remain that way
@@reshmach3212 need to neuter them on time and six month age is ideal once they start spraying it becomes their habit. If its an indoor and breed cat then easy to break the spraying habit.
My neighbors have 5 cats and they are outdoor indoor and they keep marking everywhere. They have litter boxes all over their own house. They have a whole garage to themselves. They keep coming over to my side and spray my door, my car my plants. I made friends with the cats and would even give them treats but only on their side. They are all fixed, I tried spraying the basic stuff from the local pet store. Ages are from 4 years to 15
5 cats is the problem. I have two females and one of them pisses on just about everything. I can't even let her in my room because she can't control herself. They are just too territorial typically and are competing most likely.
We have british shorthair cat. We do not want him fixed, coz we want to have kittens from him. So, we had no choice, but let him out every night. He comes in the morning and sleeps almost whole day. If we can not let him out for a reason of cold or whatever we keep him closed in the second washroom. He has his toilet there, water and his basket to sleep. Before he tried run away from there, but now he knows and walks to the basket right away. If we won't close him there for a night, he will be meawing all the time and won't let us sleep. We foumd the way to cooperate with him. I still monitoring him, when he is home thoug. But I should add that this cat is so clever, like a dog. I found also that I should to speak to him kindly, never scream or scolled him in anger. I think this can trigger him to spray more, then when you talk to him and ask him to be "a good boy"
I’ve got one cat and one litter box that I clean EVERY SINGLE DAY. MAYBE, you all should try that. I know people who clean it a couple times a week and that’s unacceptable. Try flushing your toilet a couple times a week only Vs everyday….
I am at my wits end. My 2 year old male cat has been(for at least the last year) spraying and urinating on clothes, on walls, on furniture etc. I recently got him neutered, finally and yet this behaviour hasn't stopped. In fact, it has gotten worse. I raised him from the age of 2 1/2 weeks. I thought that getting him neutered would help. He seems to do this to punish me. I have 2 litter boxes in the house for him and my other cat and I clean them on a regular basis. He is an indoor outdoor cat. When he was very young I attempted to make him an indoor only cat but was unsuccessful as he got out multiple times due to my family not paying attention. When he wants to go out and you tell him no or make him wait longer than 5 or 6 minutes he will then proceed to go to multiple locations in the house and spray against walls and doors and squat and urinate on clothes and furniture. I don't know what to do to stop this behaviour. I have taken him to the vet and there was nothing wrong with him. Any advice?
My wife and I had a baby and our cat never used to spray in our home. But now our baby is 6 months old and the cat is spraying around our home and on his changing pads and in our master room. How can we get glee to stop?
My cat is not littered trained and he's been peeing on designated mats. But recently, he went back to spraying on vertical items in the house. I recently bought a litterbox for him but he doesnt use it. How can i make him use it? Help!
Hi Jackson, can you please help me! My cat keeps spraying on one side of the couch. I have bought several cleaners and he keeps doing it. I even put plastic and it doesn't work. He is neutered, he did spray when he was a kitten. He's almost a year old. Please help!
That's why I don't have any pets in the house. They have kennel outside, and their bowls. They are very happy in the garden and they can pee there as often as they want. Cats and dogs are animals and they never going to behave like humans no matter what.
This is going to be long and possibly confusing: I own 4 cats, two of which are male (Lupin) and female (Sirius) 1 year and 8 months, the other two are both males (Poncho & Eeyore) of 10 months. I never had a problem with Lupin my first male using the litter. He never wanted to spray, still doesn't. After he became sexually mature at the same time as his sister I was not home to stop them from mating. Sirius became pregnant and had her kittens Poncho and Eeyore last May. Lupin was fixed shortly after Sirius became pregnant, she is still not spayed. Life was fine and dandy until this February of 2019. Sirius had not gone into heat for almost an entire year. The second she did, our male kitten Poncho (who we thought was a girl for 10 months because he's SUPER furry and his testies are smaller than his brothers) went NUTS! He's extremely interested in Sirius even when she's not in heat. The second we didn't allow him to mount her, he started spraying anywhere and everywhere: Doors, walls, laundry baskets, beds, couches, even the floor when he's trying to be sneaky. (Mind you I'm trying to set up appointments to get Sirius, Poncho, and Eeyore fixed ASAP). If I catch him, I clean it up ASAP with my carpet cleaner that has soap meant to clean up after pet accidents. I've had to keep him in the basement (with food, water, and litter) because every time he comes upstairs he finds somewhere new to spray. He's literally continued to spray while I'm picking him up. To try and help him understand it's naughty (I do let him upstairs because I feel bad and I'm hoping he'll get it) I've been gently rubbing his face in it then placing him in the litter pan. He's currently breaking my heart by crying and howling in the basement (he's not always alone, he has another cat with him 97% of the time) but the second I let him up he's going to chase Sirius and spray on all of my belongings. I should also add that Sirius has NEVER sprayed before but she did recently once in my bedroom where Poncho has sprayed probably 3 times. I believe and I'm hoping this madness will stop after they're ALL fixed because the cats and I are obviously all stressed. I'm 99% sure this is all happening only because Poncho and Eeyore are NOT neutered yet and Sirius is not spayed. I'm not even sure why I've typed all of this, maybe some words of advice or a "Hey yeah, your cats need to be fixed ASAP!" 😅
It's true, your cats need to be fixed ASAP! That will help remove the cause of the spraying although it can take a month or so for all the hormones to settle down. Here is another video about reducing stress th-cam.com/video/FncqZ8C-Q-k/w-d-xo.html
Please give us a update. I am currently in the same position as you. 6 cats (5) males (1) female. The female is the kitties mom. One cat sprays everywhere. Put him by himself but he howls and cries like crazy. As soon as I let him out...he sprays again. Please let me know if getting them neutered helped with spraying issue. It's truly overwhelming.
My cat is neutered and started spraying all of a sudden, he even began doing it right in front of me. Nothing has changed in our environment. And we have several trays scattered. He is spoiled rotten gets lots of kisses and cuddles and has a cat run that he and his brothers and sisters can go in and out of whenever they want as it runs out of a window. I am extremely upset because yesterday he escaped from the cat run, l saw him around the property but he isn’t even coming to me. He normally does come to me or whenever l shake the food packet. I have been crying so much l can barely see what I am typing so forgive me if there are typos. Please help me understand why this may have happened. He’s only around 3-4 years old l took him and his brothers in initially off the street as kittens and gave them everything a loving home could provide. My heart is ripped apart with worrying for him 😩💔💔💔😭😭😭
@@jimenezexotics4756 yes I was very lucky to find him hiding the whole time under the house. He probably thought since his brothers were still here it’s best to stay close. I’ve sent blocked off the cat run so he hasn’t been able to get out at all. Thank goodness!
Never liked cats but I believe that every home should have a pet. So my gf moves in who loves cats and since there's no yard...so comes cat and after a few hours this cute little kneading purring cat breaks me down and now I'm converted. Next thing you know we have 3. 1 is perfect female. The other female pees anywhere but knows to crap in litter box but bolts without covering it up ( if I'm in there, i bolt out after her hot on her heels, not to chase, flee from that STENCH!). She's lucky the other2 cats cover for her (pun intended). The male cat is the youngest but full grown & is spraying everything. I fully enclosed front porch area with full metal security screen doors with heavy duty full metal screens (not like standard window screens) that go from inside sitting ledge that is 3 feet above the floor. anyways I did this so that they can enjoy enjoy being outside free from the dangers that outdoor cats are plagued with. This also helps maintain inside cat behavior, they come in calm and relaxed. Unlike Cat doors, cats come in bug eyed skittish freaking out, and hours of feral behavior hiding & standoffish avoiding contact. Do You think they spray outside FUCK NO, Just ALL OVET MY FUCKING HOUSE . I own 3carpet cleaners with upholstery tools. Example just did my recliner yesterday and surrounding carpet and wall ALL DAY DOING THIS. let dry overnight I walk in the room early am to see the castrated male cat standing on my recliner tail straight up and twitching spraying the backrest of my recliner. I'm back to my original feelings which is with cats its either medical or behavioral you need to be a vet to own a cat. I get the emotional reward thing to have a cat love you and earning their love. MY HOUSE STINKS TO CAT PISS. I give then a loving and safe environment. Treats in the morning lots of affection. A safe way for them to enjoy the outdoors. They have dry food and water available all day with wet food served at exactly 6 pm every night. No people's food , NONE. I shouldn't walk into my house nor walk I any room and be overpowered by the smell of cat piss when I walk in. I clean their boxes (when i say i I mean we the gf&I)I scoop out clumps and shit for 2days & arm and hammer deodorizer and 3rd day dump litter out and New litter 1 with fine litter and the other with standard litter. Yeah i heard 3 cats 4 boxes. That's nuts if I'm maintaining daily. Oh I have a 2 bedroom 2 bath house 3 cats 4litter boxes.

One of them (likely the same one) is also urinating on the concrete on one side of the basement as well. Multiple spots. I have been cleaning the urination spots, also put ton foil and he is still doing it. Also she’s not showing the cat as much affection and i think this may be partly to blame.
I'm so frustrated I could scream.
did you find the answer?
Hopefully this will help - th-cam.com/video/FncqZ8C-Q-k/w-d-xo.html

the doctor is very good, at first I thought he was talking nonsense, but he is punctual and explains everything correctly and in detail.
😮😮😮🤢💀💀💀
Baking soda, not powder.
Lol
The peeing on my curtains is killing me . Its my daughters cat but i dont wanna get rid of it
I have a 13 year old female who constantly sprays on our kitchen counter! On the microwave or plug sockets, around the kettle. The latter of which are near a window.
She has a cat flap and a litter tray.
She's been spraying for years and nothing I try works!! Plug ins etc. Nothing! It's getting far to stressful at home now and so much is damaged because of it.
Please help me 😩😩
One of my 3 sprayed on my BLENDER on the counter!! I am now officially freaked tf out!!
This is happening to me too.! Blender this morning. 😢
We were going to get him fixed but then Corona virus shuts everything down :(

Our cat started spraying our house. I can’t take that. I had to ban my cat from my room and my children room. He has his appointment next week. If this doesn’t help then he will be an outdoor cat 🐈
Thank you very much my cat seems very pleased with the changes that I have made
I'm really pleased to hear it!
Good luck!
yes! great tip!
My cat was spayed when he was 6 months but he still sprays urine all over the house. I have suffered for 2 years now
Our cat Puffy has been driving the entire family crazy with his spraying everywhere.
Pee on my couch literally
A year later but has anything changed for the better?
You're really sound like a faking idiots by now. Don't believe me? Watch yourself
What happened do you still have the cat?
@@Wut3verR1cky Yes! I was very frustrated at the time but turns out he just needed more time than most cats to stop the behavior. Likely because we didn't get him neutered until he was after 1 yrs old so he developed the habit of it, but in the end he hasn't had a single incident since like week 3-4!!
@@ilooser278 I know I just got my make cat neutered at one year and I’m scared it’s too late
When my female cat is in the heating it gets me so nervous, she pees in some specific corners in the house , and repeat it everyday until the heating ends (she has this period week by week ) I ve tried to clean it and then add some vinegar to that corner , still the same ! She comes back to each spot and pee ! 😩😩
I have a female cat. She went into heat and started spraying. We had her spayed and she stopped.
This is my situation with my brothers cat. Totally fine when not in heat, but when she is, geeze... making her rounds to each spray spot literally every 5 minutes. Now if only my brother would get her spayed.
Vinegar may be attractive to her?
3:22 this part helped me the most 😄😄
I looked 😩😩😆😂🤣
I have a cat about 7 or 8 months old, 2 days ago, she would intentionally go out of her way just to pee on my other cat's bed, first time we thought it's because its time to neuter her, after the surgery which was done 2 days ago, she did it again on my other cat's bed. We had to throw the bed away so she would stop, now we are trying to play with her but she seems upset having the cone around her neck. And my other cat is more upset that we threw away his bed
You can’t stop this even with neuter cats, all my cats are neutered but they still spray everywhere , best thing closed garden for cats
Central business district?CBD…. HMMMM 😅
What kind of cat litter do you use and how many boxes do you have? Please and thank you.
If you have 24 cats, then spraying is not your biggest problem.
I first cleaned it with dettol spray then as i am allergic to dettol I used vinegar spray.it is a wooden door he is aiming at :-0
He started spraying a new area once the neighbourhood male cats started visiting our garden this spring. The are craving my beautiful neutered cats but they can’t get in.
I have a cat who is a male and about 1 year old. He has been spraying the house a lot. He isn't neutered so i made him an appointment and I hope that it will stop after.
did it stop ???
My cat is spraying every where in my bed sofa clothes I don’t know what to do I can’t neuter him at the moment everything is close and my house just smell like cat pee I don’t know what to do I’m growing tired I love him but this is killin me
I hope this video helps get things sorted.
I agree I’m going through the same thing😔🥺

If feliway helped then stress will be the cause (assuming he's started again for the same reason). this might help more - th-cam.com/video/FncqZ8C-Q-k/w-d-xo.html
Scolding him is only going to add to the stress and make the problem worse

I love how everyone is talking about their pet cats,
While here I'm stuck with a stray cat (one we gave food to randomly and just last month she became comfy enough to let us stroke us, but is still a stray that comes by randomly) spraying everywhere in my room, especially the curtain and on my bed.
I tried it. Didnt work for me.
I feed a stray cat out my back door. He sneeks in and sprays the curtains. I washed 3 curtains yesterday, 3 other curtains today. I have to wash my robes. I’m at my wits end. What can I do?
Will this also work on humans?
@Naty polanco 😂😂
Stop it!
Is it ever too late to fix a male cat to reduce spraying or will it be a habit if it's been over 2 years...
It is likely to help but if that is the only action taken may not be enough to stop it all together
Here's a video on how to introduce a new cat to your house. hope that helps along with the tips in this video - th-cam.com/video/o3RYQWFtACw/w-d-xo.html
my cat keep urinating on my desk and on my printer all the time

I hope this helped you to put some plans in place to stop the behaviour
My male cat climbs up on pile of clothes and urinates😢 what could possibly be wrong? Surely not arthritis if he can jump on to a chair but use a litter tray on ground?
my cat sprayed on my leg, i hate him ! he keeps spraying whenever nobody is looking
These steps should help you help him
My cat has no tail so I can’t tell if he is spraying, just sprayed on my AC unit he mostly sprays in the sink or front door but this was the first for the AC unit.
Have you neutered him? That can be a factor in spraying
Plz don't give your cat away, he/she will undergo more stress than you did. Just imagine it as a mother giving away their child

Cat's are intrinsically clean animals so she is certainly not doing it just because she can
Could be uti, when it hurts to peed they associate that with the litter box.
Tried everything I have three that spray in my house the newest one done it now the older two do it .

Any advice?

That's why I don't have any pets in the house. They have kennel outside, and their bowls. They are very happy in the garden and they can pee there as often as they want. Cats and dogs are animals and they never going to behave like humans no matter what.
100% right and truth.
This is going to be long and possibly confusing:
I own 4 cats, two of which are male (Lupin) and female (Sirius) 1 year and 8 months, the other two are both males (Poncho & Eeyore) of 10 months.
My heart is ripped apart with worrying for him 😩💔💔💔😭😭😭
Did he ever come back?
@@jimenezexotics4756 yes I was very lucky to find him hiding the whole time under the house. He probably thought since his brothers were still here it’s best to stay close. I’ve sent blocked off the cat run so he hasn’t been able to get out at all. Thank goodness!
After cleaning for hours i am watching this for a solution
SORRY MY LIFE AND MONEY ISNT TO TAKE CARE OF CATS AND HAVE MY HOUSE SMELL THIS FOUL. CATS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE STRESS RELIEVERS IS NOTHING BUT A BOLDFACE LIE. CATS ARE NOT PETS WHEN YOU HAVE TO LIVE IN THEIR BALANCED WORLD, ITS CYNICAL. I DIDNT GET A DOG BECAUSE IT WOULD NEED TO BE WALKED, A CAT MADE SENSE BECAUSE OF THE LITTERBOX AND YOU COULD LEAVE A CAT ALONE FOR A WEEKEND AND CAT WILL BE OK. I SHOULDVE GOTTEN A DOG. CATS WILL LOVE WHEN THEY WANT TO OR WHEN THEY WANT SOMETHING. TO REACH OUT TO A CAT TO PET SND THEU JUSY WALK AWAY OR TURN THEIR HEAF SND IGNORE YOU WHEM YOU TRY TO GET THEIR ATTENTION SLEEP ALL DAY, PULLUP ON YOUR CARPET & SCRATCH UP FURNITIRE SO YOU BUY THIS AND THAT. DOGS LIVE TP SERVE YOU AS LONG AS THEY KNOW THEY MAKE YOU HAPPY. CATS ARE A MENTAL CONDITION ABOUT TO HAPPEN TO YOU, DEPRESSION SELF DOUBT. WORRY . SUBMISSIVE, OCD, LONELY. CAUSE FIGHTS, AND SELF CONSCIOUS THAT YOU DON'T LEAVE THE HOUSE SMELLING TO CAT PISS.
OMG YOU KNOW WHAT CATS ARE?
CARTS ARE FUCKING NARCISSISTIC!
I AM FUCKING DONE! CATS ARE A PLAGUE TO SOCIETY AND A HEALTHHAZARD. IF I HATED SOMEBODY I WOULDN'T DAMN THEM OR WISH THEM A CAT. IM ABOUT TO DO A TOP TO BOTTOM CLEANING AGAIN THIS YEAR AND CLEAN HOUSE FOR THE LAST TIME AND THAT INCLUDES CATS TOO. AND IF SHE DON'T LIKE IT. SHE'LL HAVE 3 CATS TO CUSHION HER LANDING. THERE WILL NOT BE 1 MORE WORD DISCUSSRD OR ARGUED ABOUT OR EVEN REASON WITH ABOUT CATS... PERIOD. NOTHING NICE TO SAY DONT SAY NOTHING I CHOOSE TO WARN THE WORLD IN CAPITAL LETTERS!
CATS ARE NARCISSISTS!
relax
Huh?? U need help.
@@longbeachcitybythesea5937 sorry, when I wrote this I was quite distraught and enraged. I made corrections. To make it legible for human consumption😃😉
Hey I feel what your saying, but there not ALL like that , I have one out of the many my bf has that I got at 2 weeks old ,his mother left him for some reason an we found him at a abandoned house. He loves me so so much ,is so loyal and listens very well. But as for the rest, I swear they have it out for me at times, they get pissed off at me and crap in front of my bedroom door! I hate it! I' read that if they get mad they will act out, an it sucks cause I'm the one who does everything for them but if I miss a day or something I am punished so I totally understand where your coming from.
@@maggiemoore8869 I'm, Glad somebody gets what i.m feeling..i think most cat owners think they have a relationship, its more like Stockholm syndromes.
We have 5 cats now. We clean our litter boxes several times a day. Always give fresh water several times a day. One of our boys doesn’t really get along anymore with the rest of our cats so we’ve had to separate them. Our last boy won’t stop spraying every where. I will try the water and food dish thing. This is so frustrating 😑
My cats are spayed and neutered. They were raised indoors but moved outside as soon as they figured the doggie door. They just come in to eat drink and sometimes sleep indoors depending on the weather. They were going outside to do their business but recently they started marking inside. There is pee everywhere they hide so I don’t catch them and my house smells like pee no mater how good I clean cause they will pee there again. Im so frustrated don’t know what to do. 😭 I love my cats and don’t want to get rid of them.
Don't let them back in the house
My cat does go outside in the yard and has all of a sudden this year at 7 years old started to spray near the door to go outside. It's as if he's doing it because I haven't let him out fast enough. Is this possible?
