is it bad if I don't put fleeces on it?
I use it a lot once a week just so they have a change of space… or when I need to clean the cage, Or I flip it over and use it outside (with supervision).
This was one of the first things I bought for mine when we were first starting out as new piggie parents! Seriously one of the best investments we've ever made.
It’s great for bringing your piggies on your vacations. The water bottle was a challenge but we found a solution to that as well. We transport them in a laundry basket for the long trips where a carrier would be otherwise too cramped
Gari is SO PRECIOUS!!! You know you're supposed to open the hay stack a little, like an S shape, it's easier for them, because it's very compressed. I have one of those play pens, they're great, right again, Scotty!

When I adopted Daisy she came with one of these. I bought a mat that fits in the bottom the same shape, and I put some ikea mats on top of it and use it for the pigs while I am cleaning their cage. I hadn't figured out what to do about the water bottle so I appreciate that idea with the grids. The only problem I have with it is that the sides are very soft and I have a girl that likes to pluck it

I have one of these but it has a roof on it. I put my girls in it so they can be outside and be protected from cats and birds of prey. I never leave them alone in it though. I only have 2 piggies so I just use a wash basket. Great idea. Where is the link to look at it at? Thank you for the information Scotty
Thank you for the water bottle idea!!!!! I used a bowl and Peanut promptly dropped a poop in the water. Clearly didn’t approve of my idea. Lol. I have a blue one already but just ordered another for support. ☺️

That's really good, because when I adopted my two new piggies, the lady that was supposed to sell me 120cm cage cancelled and I was going to get them the next day, so unfortunatelly, only cage that was for sale in the pet store at the time, was only 80cm. In Europe you can rarely buy C&C cages (and living in an apartment in rather big city, I could not just build one from wood as I once planned to). So I had them in that cage for nearly month and was saving up money to get them the 120cm one, which I know it's not super big and for many people it's not enough, but I tried to make a level to give them more space and since all of the pigs love to jump on the roof of wooden houses, they enjoyed that too (it was just two wooden planks stucked in the cage).
I definitely could've saved money, if I just have had this on hand, when I adopt lonely cavies from people that do not want them, instead of buying quickly a cheap cage to get it replaced in few weeks.
@Cavia porcellus Where abouts are you in Europe? Do you not have access to Amazon? as this is where you can readily buy what's needed to make your own C&C cage setup.

JuHuu!!! I have one of these! And I have the kind with the zipper ceiling, too. They are great fun! When the weather is hot, Shark sets my tent (the covered one) up right on her bed so I can enjoy the air conditioned bedroom all day long and still get plenty of exercise.(My bedroom night cage is fine for sleeping, but too small to live in.) I highly recommend these for everybody.

I have one of these, but one of my pigs got out of it. She stands up and uses her teeth to pull down the sides and then climbs out. Too smart for her own good. LOL. Good idea about the water bottle. I struggled figuring out something for that.

I bought one of these when I got my two piggies and they love it! I use it as their “day” cage and transfer the piggies to their Midwest for night time. There are fleece liners you can buy that fit these pop up play pens and I highly recommend them. A friend of mine took care of my boars for a few days for me and they stayed at her house in the pop up. Worked great and was easy to transport and set up. Super easy to clean, too!

I actually use this play pen for floortime. Is it a bad idea to use it for floor time or should I keep it? Do I need something bigger?
we had to switch to Orchard Grass because of allergies to Timothy Hay. they piggies weren't instant fans but they got used to it pretty quick and eat just as much of it as the timothy. we also have a foldaway pen like that for emergencies :)

Great advise, I have had Guinea pigs most of my childhood. Now as an adult, I do not remember having so much information.
As soon as I saw this, I ordered a playpen. Being in Canada, it cost me 25.00 but well worth it for my piggies. I do not have to worry if I want to take them out for a bit or even separate one for a short stretch.

Scott did yours come with a travel bag. The two I've got came with a travel bag. Because you can twist it up and forms into a circle. And then you put it into the carrying case or travel bag.

Hiya, they are brilliant, I hot mine a year or so ago, brilliant when your cleaning out a herd or what I really use mine for, introducing new piggies as it's a neutral space. But I had not thought about it as an emergency item, great idea, especially as you can fold them smaller for an emergency go bag!

I have that exact same play pen, I use it when I am cleaning the piggy cage, makes a great place for them to hang out. I need to try the grid idea for a water bottle, I currently just use a heavy ceramic pet bowl for water when using the pen, thanks for the idea.

My piggies' current playpen is a pain to set up as it consists of fences that attached with binder clips over fleece. They stay there for two days each week when I clean their cage. I will have to look into this.

I live in the UK and brought one of these off Amazon in April this year for my two rescue pigs. I use it for floor time as I can’t give them free roam where I live. The one I have folds into a small circle and has a carry bag. Both my guinea pigs love it.

Good idea but I know I'd be concerned about my Pip chewing on the cage. He even chews the hammocks that are sprayed with deterrent. This would be great with piggies that don't chew. It would be great to carry in a car if you see a stray piggie or if you needed to evacuate in a emergency like a fire ( heaven forbid ) !

Hi Scotty, my granddaughters have two of these playpens for their three guinea pigs. Two of the piggies used to get along but when a third piggie was added to the family, all males, the two original piggies don’t get along anymore so that is the reason for the two playpens. I will be babysitting the three piggies for more than a week and I had a question about lining the playpens to make cleanup easier for me but safe for the piggies. I was thinking of getting cage liners, plastic on one side and soft “fabric” on the other but the reviews said a guinea pig died from eating the plastic. Would newspapers or brown paper grocery bags with hay or wood chips covering the top of the newspaper be OK ? I am terrified of killing my granddaughters piggies. Thank you.

Hi, I need help. Ive keeping to bonded boars like 2 years and half ago. Theyre been peacefull and getting well/fine along since then. But sudently, I think we, the owners, made a big mistake. We put sounds of anther guinea pigs theet chattering.
Then the boars started to teeth chattering both like never before, and then the situation scalates. They both keep treathening both, and then the submissive boar iniciates to rebel against the stablished dominant boar. The dominant boar was isually calm and tolerant. But since that sound. The submissive boar bite the dominant boar butt. Then show off his teeths, and throw himself with his paws to the face of the dominant boar. The dominant, still pacient, fleed him. But the submissive boar follow him and then the fight start. Just a strike and we throw them a towel, the dominant boar was intact but the submissive one got his upperlip (I dont Know How to say it in english) slash mid-half. We got the submissive to a vet to repar his lip. (wasnt as dangerous as spected). But the submissive one got one of his upper thoots broke off. The vet trim his thoots, and tell us that it was recomedated to spay/neutered the boar, to aboid further conflict. The submissive boar, suirvived the surgery. So Im asking if I should spay the other boar, witch is 3+ year old, and rescued (in México, so Im not really sure of his age.). Can I keep a uneutered boar and one neutered? I can add further details in comments, thanks.

Scott funny thing about those. My sister bought me one for my hamster Ivy Angel Rose. And it said it's good for hamsters. It's honestly not safe for hamsters to be in. Because Ivy actually climbed up the side of it and trying to climb out. Because it had mesh side. Those are perfect for her little feet to stick through and climb up. Luckily I was there and I saw her climb at the side of it took a picture of it to the my sister and then stopped her from climate beside. I told my sister Ginger I said Ginger I don't think this is safe for her. I said she can clearly climb over the top of that and get out. And she goes well I thought I'd be a good thing for. I told her I said sorry you wasted your money on it and she goes yeah she's I wasn't thinking about having mesh sides to it. So later on I actually bought one that has no mesh sides to it. No mesh at all. So I put IV in there with a few things that she can hide in and hide under. She'll sit there for maybe 4 to 5 minutes the longest have actually gotten her to stay in it was probably about 6 minutes. She starts to panic when she's in that thing. You know she's got all these things she can hide under and hide in. She can stepanek quite quickly. So now I have to take Ivy out and put her back in her cage
Hamsters are too powerful to be contained!
