Hi just to say thank You for these videos. I'm not an engineer, but I hope to learn enough to be able to line bore My cylinders, (VW Bug cylinders on 2CV engine) Great work, I instantly subscribed. Best Wishes, Jahmahrah
I’m very lucky to be the proud owner of such a beautiful piece of history that is so often overlooked in its amazing versatility the machine is over 75 years old and is still producing accuracy to with in .001” of an inch :)
Just watched all episodes of this now and I take my hat off to you! I have spent many an hour trying to work out how to do this at home and failed miserably, despite being similarly equipped to yourself. You are much cleverer than me, many thanks for showing us all the way to do it.
You are very kind. Im not sure its Cleverness of just blessed with a mind and a family that wont take no for an answer ahah. I wont lie It took me a good few years to come up with this plan and when I couldn't find anything out there to help when I need to get this job done I said it was about time it was out there. Let me know how you get on and if I can be of any help don't hesitate to ask 👍👍
X-C-Lent video series. You guys are real artisans. (Compliment there from the U.S.) You have inspired me to line bore overhead cam bearings in cylinder heads. Very few people do this here, but now I will.
Now that's real Classic Mini Restoration at it's best lad; Love it; Too many people out there flashing off their tidy paint jobs whilst disguising a world of horrors beneath; Great to see somebody at grass roots engineering getting them right from the inside out ... Joking aside, I have a 1293cc A Series on build for my Cooper MPI and I may give you a shout to take on the cylinder head build.
Very informative line boring information and machining of the equipment to do the job. Only thing I would have liked to see was the feed and speed of the lathe driving the boring bar in action. Keep up the great work.
Very nice work. I have some raw castings to line bore for bearings to fit so this has given me some great pointers.
Glad it helped it’s something that took me a while to get my own head around
