- Such an epic test, me and Burns hit up our 2nd STL of the evening. This one can be seen just east of SR 3, on the radio, the FD could be heard saying stand by for the fire test. Avilla as you can recall also has an STH-10

I love it! I’ve always wanted to hear an STL-10 in attack in person lol.
I just heard one a couple nights ago. It's amazing how well you can hear these sirens from a few miles away.
@@WindowLickingDeeryeah I am planning on getting a model 2 or model 2T Maknly cuz it’s not huge well. Still big but smaller.
How many decibels is a Model 2/2T From 1 mile away?
@@WhelenWPS3000
I don't quite know. It was loud enough to hear from 4 or 5 miles away. The one I heard was in Reno Ohio, and I heard it from near Williamstown WV.
@@WindowLickingDeer yeah no doubt I’m block the intake cuz I don’t want it to be too loud but that doesn’t mean I won’t get one.

It took me a few minutes to realize that my original comment was from when I heard that siren coming from Reno. I thought it was from when I thought our fire station had a Sentry 20v2t, which it didn't. It had an 8/16 port Sterling M-10. That was also a couple years ago.
Point Pleasant, NJ used one for First Aid calls. Loved hearing it but it was removed many years ago.
One of these used be in Hershey, Pennsylvania where I live and it was on top of the Hershey factory and was used by the fire department but it was not put on the roof of the fire station because there are houses right in front of it and for the longest time, I called it the “Fire whistle”, even though it’s not and I finally found it on top of the factory and what the model of the siren is
What part?
On the top right corner
@@GoseiGuyProductions thx
@@GoseiGuyProductions was it the chocolate world building?
@ It was the factory building
The one thing I've always liked about STL-10 sirens is that they always had that deep, husky tone to them.
Sounds like the French siren I can never remember the name of lol (aka the silent hill siren) kinda looks like it too
th-cam.com/video/MJQKcMYdC5U/w-d-xo.html
Yes it does sound similar, the French siren is a KM Europ siren
@Thunder Child
The French siren is a KM Europ KM2S/KM3S/KM4S 8 port single tone siren.
@Jacob Gonzales KM Europ
I’ve always thought the same!!
I live near Pittsburgh (Scott twp), and I'm sure the stl 10 i heard was in upper st Clair.
I used to live in Swissvale and I now know that the municipal building there has one of these, they made it go off daily at 9:40 PM so you may have heard it too at some point
Nice and healthy sounding
sounds almost like a french pakita siren, nice.
What differentiates mechanically an STL from an STH?
The 10 in stl 10 stands for 10 hp and the 10 in sth 10 stands for 10 ports
Mechanically they aren't really different. Same motor, chopper, stator kinda design as most vertical sirens.
However, the STL-10 is way different than an STH-10 for other reasons. Look at them up close
@@olddays2253 No the 10 in STH-10 stands for 10 Horsepower
@@kansasstatealerting717 oh nvm
I think they mean the L and H.
STL means Single Tone Low. STH means Single Tone High. Hence higher pitch for the STH and lower for the STL.
This is one of the creepiest sirens I have ever heard and I thought the federal 3t22 was creepy sounding
You should hear the German sirens
The Carter siren from England has a chilling sound to it.
3T22s aren't creepy. They're musical instruments.
@@olddays2253 The 3 ports are a great example!!
@@WarningSirensOfUpstateNY that's what i ment
They are terrifying
Like two sirens
Stl 10 and villa siren
I made a tornado siren madness script which has a DS PAKITA in it, and DS PAKITA says that his sound has been used in the film ‘Silent Hill’, and someone tells me that the Federal Signal STL-10 sound was used in the film ‘Silent Hill’.
Bro. Nobody cares about TSM
The ‘10’ stands for 10 horsepower, right?
@RockabillyFox that's for an sth 10 not an stl 10
Right
@RockabillyFox yeah look up stl and count the horns then look up sth and count the horns
@RockabillyFox STH-10 has 12 horns while the STL-10 has 7 horns, the 10 stands for 10 Horsepower.
Correct. There are some STL-10's out there with 15 hp GE motors though. They are extremely rare and can be distinguished easily due to the 15hp motor being taller than the 10 hp counterparts.
The stl 10 siren is my favorite siren it also sounds kinda like the siren from silent hill
It just became my favorite.
i have this behind my house
Silent hill, anyone? They might have an STL 10 LOL
That's what i was thinking but it turns out to be a French SLS-2004.
Sounds just like the SH Siren.
I saw you from the silent hill air raid siren amirite?
The pyramid heads are coming!
Sounds like(truly) a km europa 8 port siren
KM Europe
Probably because this was the siren they used in the movie.
what state is this
Indiana.
Stl 100 signal of the warning siren France the Siren is the km Europe
Cool
STL-10 bad to the bone!!! 🇺🇸😂
Scary 💀
Sounds like the French Air Raid sirens!
Yes, but they're 8 port and this one is 7 port
Still very close since it is only a port difference senpai!
Sounds Like P-10
Слишком знакомо
