    Brilliant to see your dad’s fitting then him use the club on the course. Glad it helped him!
    That feeling of flushing it on his last one is golden! “That’s the one!”

      I'm fortunate to be able to golf with my son. Wasn't able to play with my dad but I will cherish golf with my son. Told him to get fitted and he is now breaking 90.

    I really like you including your dad in your videos. I always enjoy going golfing with my dad. Especially now that my dad is turning 79 here in about 3 weeks. I don't know how much longer he will be out golfing any more. So enjoy these times while you can.

    Brilliant James ....
    Watching your dad's joy when he said that's the one was priceless....
    If you ever go back to ping take him with you and let him hit the 410 plus in a 12° head , I was amazed at the accuracy during my fitting ( and to be honest I hit the M5 18 yards further but no consistent Dispersion) now I'm hit the longest drives I've hit in the last 5 years ....
    Keep the videos coming.....

    This is a good video post James, I'm glad to see Titleist finally looking at the 15-20 and higher handicap player, they have money too. I've only had two Titleist drivers ( two plus decades ago ) and the experience was always really really bad or really really good, no in between. Even back when I was a mid single handicap player I did not want Titleist driver in my bad, there was no forgiveness for off center hits and having any other driver in my bag but a Titleist only helped my game and score, it's good to see them at the other spectrum of golf scoring.

    Got myself a driver, my first new one. Went very well with a very long roll.
    After two rounds found I had left the face tape on.
    I am sure there was more distance with it on!,,

    Fitting defo benefits any standard golfer, if you’re honest with the fitter and the fitter knows their eggs! I”m off 18-20 (not a member anywhere) with dodgy eyesight at 54. Went to American Golf to test drivers (a) to replace my ancient Hippo John Daly Powermax (anyone want to make me an offer 🤣) and (b) fix my faded/slice.. Fitter got me on regular shaft for my slower swing speed and tested numerous draw biased models. Conclusion was Ping G410 or Cobra King F7 with weights to favour a draw flight... no pressure to purchase and I eventually got an F7 off a local golfer who was moving to the F9. Delighted with results an confidence in purchase due to fitting experience 👍.. now I’ll watch the rest of the vid and wish your Dad well !!

    I've taken lessons for my driver and I still hook left! My last resort will be a fitting. Thank you James for the video. I address the ball correctly and tried different heights in tees. Irons hit straight and high woods cannot keep on a solid line

  • @andrewprice969
    @andrewprice969 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I had a lesson with my pro at Parc GC on Wednesday. My existing driver was a Taylor Made White burner that I was given, which had a built in fade to slice!!
    Discussion and practice with Brian Lee the pro and he had a 2nd hand Callaway Rogue 10.5 40g reg shaft shortened by 2ins, previously owned by the club chairman playing off 6.
    I’m coming up to 60 and 6ft 1 ins a slightly large frame but took to it immediately
    The lesson and fitting and adjusting the Rogue had me hooked. Paid £140 for it with new grip and played for our Halletts team at The wonderful Pyle & Kenfig course last night. Had it going over 250 yds with run.
    I believe it was right place right time together with listening to the pro, taking advice and believing in him.
    He know what I needed and was able to get me going with a great lesson and getting me to buy the right club and most importantly for me the right price ! As I’ve said before I am a retired Bank Manager, who can’t as a 22 h cap bring myself to spend £450 plus.
    I believe I have had both a great deal, but also trust my pro to sell me the right thing.
    I like a bargain but want the advice from someone that I trust.
    That’s what I like about being member of a golf club

    It’s a great 👍 video ! I’m a high handicapper myself, and got fitted for a new driver last year. This year I’m driving the ball of the tee ver well. Part of it is due to getting a driver that fits me. Unless you are a beginner golfer, getting fitted for a driver is definitely worth it.

    I recently got a new fitted Ping to replace my 20 year old driver and I am hitting a lot better, but then I have been practicing more, have gotten lessons and have watched a lot of You Tube videos so its hard to say what made the most difference. I did go from a medium to a stiff shaft

    James, you make awesome content. Thanks for all you do for those of us that aren't great.....yet.
    Would you consider doing a video on mid to high handicap irons in regards to shaping? Your reviews on their distance and forgiveness are great. But how shapeable are they? Just thinking out loud.

    I am a high handicapper who only plays occasionally,but had a new driver fitted and it took about 15 shots off my average almost immediately. It's not a major brand,its the brand of the professional who fitted me and its the best thing I ever did was to get it fitted.

    Glad your Dad loves his new TS1 James. But it’s worth pointing out that a driver with a lightweight head, shaft & grip is not new - just new to Titleist. Some of the press around would have us think this is groundbreaking when it isn’t. Been done by Wilson 4-5 years ago with the D200 Superlight driver. Probably been done by other companies too. Keep up the great content mate 👍🏼

    Know I saw a difference. New golfer and only played about 20 rounds. So yeah my handicap is a 31 right now. Anyway, used my bonus for new woods and a hybrid. Was using a $40 Wilson Black and now a M6. Yup added lots of distance.

    As a high hc, I recently broke the hosel on my old generic, cheap driver and replaced it with a used Big Bertha. Instant 40 yds. I'm very curious how much a fitted driver would change my drives.

    I find myself bemused by the concept of a 20 handicap being called a high handicap.....
    I would have thought with the averages now it would be a mid handicap...
    But either way awesome video and proves that fitted clubs are important for a more consistent result and therefore a more enjoyable experience on the course..great job

    Getting fit is so important, but even more important is the quality skills and knowledge of the fitter. James’s dad got fit at Titleist HQ so we know it was solid (not sure the cost hopefully $0)I am lucky enough to live in a city where there are multiple club Champion locations, true spec, and few other solid shops. The problem though is the bigger fitters (club champion true spec golftec) want $100 for irons $100 for drivers $100 for putter $75 for wedges and $150 for driver. If you do the whole bag they give you a discount $350-$450 range. You could always pay $50 at a PGA superstore but I went in their and I had to setup the GC quad they did not have different grips shafts etc (I mean it’s a big box) either way your getting pressure from someone to buy right then and there and it’s not a quality experience. It has taken me a long time to find a shop but at mine their goal is about caring for your game so I drive 102 miles round trip each week... if your going to buy the irons woods putter etc and you put down a deposit($100) (new and used clubs count) the fitting is $50 for the whole bag and that’s because it takes 4hrs of one of their bays. They also don’t take it personally that your not going to buy the $700 Fujikura Ventus shaft like club champion and true spec do. Bit of a rant but everyone preaches get fit get fit get fit. Just make sure you ask a lot of educated questions to your fitter and test them before you spend $2500 on the full bag!

    Best advice I was given was to get a driver with a higher loft I use a 12.5 and it’s a lot more forgiving and easier to hit than a 9.5 or 10.5

  • @jackwallace2156
    @jackwallace2156 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Question... I noticed you put your head covers and putter cover on at all times... is this important to do? I never do it and am wondering if I’m wrong for not!

    • @xxarea83xx
      @xxarea83xx 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s personal preference. I do it to keep protection on the clubs just in case of a bag slip on the concrete from a bad cart strap and to protect the face of an expensive putter from irons swinging around into it. I like to protect my clubs.
      But I golf with a guy who is significantly better than me who never covers his clubs until after the round is over. Tho he might cover them when he replaces them this off season as he says he will.

    Why do many (not all) use a senior golfer as their higher handicapper tester? High handicappers come in all age ranges. I would like to see if this test worked for a high handicap golfer in a younger age bracket.

    • @YoYoZamolo
      @YoYoZamolo 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brian Lewis how many get to single digits? Not a lot. Majority of us play once or twice a month due to work and family life. If a fitting can get me 20 yards now then I’d be stupid not to get it done as 99% of us are going to be mid handicaps for life

    I went to a driver fitting several years back and got FLEECED, be careful of the asshats changing the numbers on the launch monitors making you think the new driver ( Titlesit D3 913 ) you're trying out is WAY better then the PING G20 you brought in to see if a change is needed !!!!
    Thats what they did to me at the cost of $500 and went out and hit the ball in the exact same places as my old Ping driver !
    I doubt I'll ever get fitted again from an off beat company I will go to the Source and get fitted like PING in Arizona .
    Didnt make any changes in my game at all , just made someone else $500 richer ..... LOL
