There was a batch of 8 or 10 That came up for sale on Arizona Custom Knives a year back...the range of prices they sold for was $450-$700ish....and the value has pretty much maxed out around $800-$1000 these days... I wish there was a accounting of how many were made versus the 4X series

Mine had ridiculous play until I had someone tune it. At that time there was literally a handful of quality balisongs. Benchmade and cold steel being the major two. Microtech was there but the tachyon was just such a different knife I don't consider it in the same category. Not in a bad way. Just not a flipper at all.
Absolutely, loud and clear on the first Tachyon…I mentioned it for tolerances..it’s too short and the balance is not there… They waited another 10 years to make the Tachyon 2🤷🏼♂️

As anyone who reads around Balisong Collector knows, removing the pocket clip will leave an unfinished, quite ugly patch of metal on your handles exposed. Only way to get around this is to disassemble, switch the handles, and then switch the latch. Voila, your latch and clip are both on the bite handle. As far as I can tell great knife though.
Hey, what balisong would you recommend for a budget begginer, i'd like to spend around 30- 50$ (or less ofc) for a decent balisong, i just one a plain balisong (no paint, pattern, etc.) just like the bm42 and arc angel.

@BmoreXtreme It's just tough to do cause you have to wait for a good clearing before you can open it up. I had to find a good spot that offered me good coverage as to not freak ppl out. lol.
@buddt222 The most affordable would be an M Tech Twist, and they are not too bad of flippers either. Around $25. The BM42 is not bad to start with but the problem is they're very expensive ($300). The Bradley Kimura is around $80 and not a bad starter.
You can probably get more than $200 is my guess. Depends on the level of the work. If it's crappy it will reduce value. If done by someone well known it will probably not increase value, but keep it the same.

+flipping_gamer Probably because it's channel construction. If you've noticed, even benchmade stopped making channel balis. They are expensive to make apparently
They stopped making them for two reasons mostly, first of all, the molds were getting old for the cast handles, and the molds themselves cost a lot, and second, much of the titanium from that time frame went to the war effort in the middle east. It really is a shame. If the war didn't happen, and if it wasn't still waging today, we'd still have some sick-ass balisongs haha

i have one and its really close to 42 in all aspects. i prefer arcangel with twirls and rollovers and the 42 for aerials
