The NFL is woke and racist, if you’re not black or play hip hop forget about it. The league is now over 80% black and black people in general don’t like rock, despite the fans being 80% white and many would LOVE to see a rock act. Our world is upside down.
This new generation of kids like rap & that's why they are catering to that. What they should do is have one rock, one rap & one country song from three artists that can cater to more people.

In the U.S. Rock is a dying format. Hip- Hop and Country are the prefered choices. Rock is now for a mostly aging demographic. Stadiums play snippets of Rock songs to appease the older crowd who like to cling to their lost youth.
They play rock songs at stadiums and arenas because its mostly PG and if they played rap it would be just constant bleeping of F words and N words. Im sure Kendrick Lamar will get bleeped heavily.
Like it or not, rap stole the youth, not grunge. Grunge is how rock got beat. Kids looked at rappers living the good life, and depressed dudes who whined about girls and life, and took their pick. Can you blame them? At least the glam movement had chicks all over the place. That’s what’s missing. When rock brings girls back into the party, the youth will return.
I think its too late. Rock cant do shit without the major labels signing those bands and investing lots of money into them and they clearly arent doing that anymore. So you got a band like Dirty Honey who are doing pretty ok and they bring girls to the party but they arent on a record label and arent huge or massively popular.
I complain every year but as long as Jay Z is running it, rock will not happen, the last time I watched the halftime was the Who, the last time a band has played if I recall, minus maybe one being with another performer by chance.

Trunk is part of the problem. He just kept on promoting his old buddies over the years and failed to promote lots of new bands. On his youtube show tonight hes got Rudy Sarzo on whos 73 and is a senior citizen. Like why not put on someone newer and younger? Trunk is part of the problem why rock isnt cool and it got old because these guys kept on clinging to the past and the old guard. Oasis, Green Day and Creed are 90s bands and even they are old but Trunk is still stuck in the 80s and those guys are ancient now.
My opinion on rap is that rock music used to be "edgy" but when gangsta rap exploded in the 90s it took being edgy to such extreme levels that no rock act could ever match it thus it owned the youth culture from then to now. Once Eminem became popular it was over for rock as far as being a driving force in youth and mainstream culture. Rock is a old man genre now.
