I've met Gene Simmons NUMEROUS times over the years - He is the kindest and most humble guy, I've literally watched him cry in private over a disabled fan. It takes a lot to get on the guy's bad side.

Look; When Gene is in “ROCK STAR MODE” He is a “stoic-just the facts” person so in turn that’s how you treat him in that manner how do I know this I used to work with him and other celebrities no pleasantries just “Stoic Professionalism” That’s one of the main keys to this business…

I worked the Farewell tour in 2000 for a few months. Gene can be a condescending prick. After my first interaction with him I was turned off and just ignored him and did my job. I witness others intereacting with Gene also. However, Gene is older and maybe his lights upstairs are somewhat dimmer than they were in 2000.
That's Gene. Gene is very humble and soft spoken behind the scenes and he pretty much only ever fist bumps. Eddie is butt hurt because Gene treated him like he would have treated anyone else instead of giving him any special treatment.
After watching Gene's TV show everyone should know that he can be a douche to his own family much less the public. He has no social skills and there's no money in it for him to be cordial.

He played them on the air for over 30 years and does a Merry Kissmas special. He discussed them a lot with guests. He mostly criticized them for not retiring, lip syncing, and Tommy and Eric wearing that makeup.

I don’t think Gene feels he need to ask Paul for permission to interact with anyone. He probably didn’t want an intro to keep the surprise. I think Eddie is projecting here - he literally said here and has said before that things between he and Gene are cool and that for the sake of kiss he was keeping his distance from kiss over the last few years. Seems like a missed opportunity to start the dialogue back up.

Just taking this at face value, it sounds like Gene showed up on either a busy day or may have had little preparation for the event. He has made a living out of performing and attending events like the one spoken about. For a guy his age, I am sure they start to blur together after awhile. Or maybe he had an off day, who knows. Despite Gene's larger than life (heh) image, at the end of the day he's just a guy with any or all of the same human conditions as the rest of us. It was obviously more important to Eddie because of his overall reactions to Gene and the situation. So basically, it's making a mountain out of a molehill, in my estimation at least.

It sounds an awful lot, like Gene might be going through something, medically. His replies and questions, seem like someone aware that they’re having issue, but covering as soon as they think the other person might become aware of that condition.
I've never met eddie trunk , but just read his Bio , in his profession he has done more for keeping hard rock alive and in front of as many people as possible other than the bands , he's far more than a hanger on ~ I've met gene and like a ton of people I don't have nice things to say about him... eddie also researches and doesn't shit talk anyone he tries to lay out facts - you may not like the guy or his voice or whatever that's fine but he's a professional who takes his job seriously and IMO he is damn good at it ~
From listening to this I am feeling that if Eddie had been a little more subtle, giving and warmer on thos occasion, Gene would have perhaps loosened up a bit. Sometimes it takes a little longer for people to warm up. I like Eddie but sometimes he can be a little bit too coarse for some artists.
Paul must have gotten real angry at Gene when he made him block Eddie on Twitter after sitting down with him before an awards show over 10 years ago. This is what Gene and Paul think of Kiss fans.

I enjoy and appreciate Eddie, however he is well known to have an ego/"I'm every rockstars best friend" mindset/ego that is very transparent to his listeners. He chuckles, however he was clearly hurt by Gene not engaging with him more. Gene has been performing "Deuce" for over 50 years (which he also wrote), I am pretty sure he was not nervous or clueless about what to do. No, Eddie, not everyone likes you - so sorry guy, but accept it and be happy you have plenty of "friends". Gene is going to be 75, he does not care or have the energy to care about a second tier DJ from satellite radio, who is desperate for recognition. Eddie is still a fanboy and not a peer when musicians see him, yet he wants respect for what he has accomplished on-air. Align your ego with reality Ed. I know you love Eddie's show Ray (you are a loyal listener), however you have to know Ed can be emo about his bands and that he kills the vibe for listeners by focusing on himself and not the rock stars.

I worked the Farewell tour in 2000 for a few months. Gene can be a condescending prick. After my first interaction with him I was turned off and just ignored him and did my job. I witness others intereacting with Gene also.
However, Gene is older and maybe his lights upstairs are somewhat dimmer than they were in 2000.

Gene actually came across as laid back and cool with everything. This guy seems to be one with problem.
That's Gene. Gene is very humble and soft spoken behind the scenes and he pretty much only ever fist bumps. Eddie is butt hurt because Gene treated him like he would have treated anyone else instead of giving him any special treatment.

At this stage it doesn't really matter because Gene and Paul no longer own KISS so that can't be used against Eddie. If they want to carry on the "grudge" so they can continue to get sound bites, which I think Gene is actually doing here, then so be it. If I were Eddie, I would just ramp up his opinion on their nostalgia touring that is behind them now and let them eat it. KISS is out of their hands now so Eddie can participate with Pophouse if there is an opportunity. Pophouse should not shy away from doing what they want to do to promote chatter.
Eddie is like a woman that has to post his feeling and occurrences. Men just move on and DON"T read into shit like women do. I liked the metal show. But, I just can't deal with Eddie always interrupting the artist and always, always, name dropping. So self-important.

For those not in the know, Rutsey HAD to leave Rush as his health conditions precluded Rutsey from touring, etc.

I used to not get the hate of Eddie. Over the last couple years I have finally seen how conceded he is. He thinks is much more famous and admired than he really is. Did he throw that 40 years in music party for himself?
Eddie also seems to forget about saying the term Hair Band or Hair Metal (which he Now apparently finds offensive), but he says it numerous times in his two books. Especially the chapters on Bon Jovi, Poison, Cinderella, Skid Row, Warant, GnR, etc.).

Eddie is a bit full of himself here, he is put off that gene did say “ hey what’s up… yada yada “ - yet neither did Eddie. In fact if the conversation he relayed was relatively accurate, I would say his demeanor possibly encores or at least informed Gene’s- being a bit sterile and standoffish. I don’t think Gene feels he need to ask Paul for permission to interact with anyone. He probably didn’t want an intro to keep the surprise. I think Eddie is projecting here - he literally said here and has said before that things between he and Gene are cool and that for the sake of kiss he was keeping his distance from kiss over the last few years.
Seems like a missed opportunity to start the dialogue back up.

Just taking this at face value, it sounds like Gene showed up on either a busy day or may have had little preparation for the event. He has made a living out of performing and attending events like the one spoken about. For a guy his age, I am sure they start to blur together after awhile. Or maybe he had an off day, who knows. Despite Gene's larger than life (heh) image, at the end of the day he's just a guy with any or all of the same human conditions as the rest of us. It was obviously more important to Eddie because of his overall reactions to Gene and the situation. So basically, it's making a mountain out of a molehill, in my estimation at least.
I can guarantee you that Gene had no inner dialogue about what the ramifications were about you introducing him. Again, this is Eddie Trunk being Eddie Trunk. Main Character Syndrome is strong with this one
It sounds an awful lot, like Gene might be going through something, medically. His replies and questions, seem like someone aware that they’re having issue, but covering as soon as they think the other person might become aware of that condition.

I've never met eddie trunk , but just read his Bio , in his profession he has done more for keeping hard rock alive and in front of as many people as possible other than the bands , he's far more than a hanger on ~ I've met gene and like a ton of people I don't have nice things to say about him... eddie also researches and doesn't shit talk anyone he tries to lay out facts - you may not like the guy or his voice or whatever that's fine but he's a professional who takes his job seriously and IMO he is damn good at it ~

From listening to this I am feeling that if Eddie had been a little more subtle, giving and warmer on thos occasion, Gene would have perhaps loosened up a bit. Sometimes it takes a little longer for people to warm up. I like Eddie but sometimes he can be a little bit too coarse for some artists.
Paul must have gotten real angry at Gene when he made him block Eddie on Twitter after sitting down with him before an awards show over 10 years ago. This is what Gene and Paul think of Kiss fans.

Really? Been listening to Trunk for 25 years and I have never heard him talk shit about him/them. Ed was weaned on Kiss.
