Eminem and Kendrick Lamar are singed to Dre's record label, Aftermath. 50 cent (1 pound, fifty) is signed to Eminem's label imprint, Shady/Aftermath. Dre also co-wrote and produced the first song Mary J. performed on her set, "Family Affair" 2.The map on the field was of Compton, California. The city where Dre and NWA repped. 3. The blue you see Snoop Dogg in is to rep his gang affiliation with the Crips. They wear blue. (The NFL didn't want him to wear it, but, he's Snoop... 😂) The other big one was the Bloods, which wear red. The big gang wars were between them back in the 90s and 2000's. They have slowed down significantly, but they are still around. The dance Snoop was doing was called the Crip Walk or C-walking. The foot movements traditionally spell out C-R-I-P, but can spell out other words as well, like Bloods, their rival, and then crossed out to show disrespect. It was made popular by another Crip/rapper, WC (Dub-C) 4. Anderson Paak (Eminem's drummer on the set. Also part of Silk Sonic with Bruno Mars and a solo artist) was a special guest performer along with 50 cent. 5. Currently Dre is worth $850 million. Third richest rapper, Jay Z is on the top with over a billion, last I saw it was $1.4 billion. 6.The NFL told Eminem they didn't want him to kneel, symbolizing social injustice, They still are reeling over the Colin Kaepernick problem from when he did it. But, it's Em, not like they were going to be able to stop him. 7. Jay Z wrote the last song Dre performed, "Still Dre" (The NFL didn't want him to add the part about not loving police either, but, we see they lost that one too....😂) 8. Jay Z was the one who set up and produced this show with his partnership with the NFL. 9. This was the first majority Hip Hop show ever put on for the half-time show in history. 10. The Super Bowl halftime show is 12-15 minutes, halftime is 20 to 30 minutes. Regular season halftime is usually 15 minutes. 11. Lastly, nobody got paid for this show. I think Dre even kicked in $7 or $8 million of his own money to put this on. Most artist don't. If they do, it's Union scale minimum, about $1000 a day. Dancers gear a couple hundred a day and some for rehearsals. Then the filler volunteer dancers or crowds just get to be there.

Watch the NFL films story about Prince’s halftime show. The man performed purple rain in the rain!!! The legend continues. Prince was really everything they say he was. That is still the Number 1 Super Bowl halftime for me along with Michael Jackson and U2. This was awesome as well I just wanted different songs! Still off the chain good tho. Props to Jay-Z for getting the deal for this done! He will be up there next!! Just watch
This year’s show was definitely one of my favorites ever. Prince☔️ and U2 round out my top three. Lady Gaga was right up there though; she was awesome.
Fun Fact one year after: The map is the city of Compton and their stage are buildings, business that were famous in Compton back in the day. Toms burgers where we used to hang out and Eve After Dark where Dre dj'd.
The layout of the show set and ground beneath is the City Of Compton. You also see it on Dr. Dre's palm in the beginning. The building that blows up when Em comes on is the Compton Courthouse. Tam's Burgers is where Suge Knight lost his freedom.

When Eminem took a knee, the song Dre was playing on the keyboard was Tupac's "I Ain't Mad Atcha". Obvious message to the NFL about the Colin Kaepernick situation.
January 4 2021 Dr Dre had a brain aneurysm, February 13th 2022 he's on stage orchestrating, directing, producing and performing in the Super Bowl Halftime show... That's crazy.
The piano solo was a tribute to a 2pac song"I aint mad atcha" on the anniversary of his album "All eyez on me" released 2/13/96(same day of superbowl)..hence Em paying respects(kneeling)and dre having thunder while performing it👍🏾side note..kendrick payed homage to the movie "meteor man" from the 90s with the blonde dancers.(Golden lords)
While this is great music it’s also about more than that. The NFL has had and is still (like the rest of the US) having to come to terms with their part in anti- Black racial inequality and white supremacy. These are artist who were/are absolutely hated in many parts of our country, particularly for their truth telling and pro Black vision.
This is a very historic performance, the first year rap was allowed to perform at the Superbowl. Taking the knee is a sign of protest against police brutality and racism in the united states. it is not strictly sports. The NFL told them they couldn't kneel in the contract while also censoring a lot of lyrics. great reaction. love yall
This is the first year that hip hop was featured in the halfime, Missy Elliott was apart of Katy Perry’s halftime and Big Boi from Outkast was apart of the Maroon 5 halftime in Atlanta. Madonna had a couple of rap artist in her halftime also, Nicki Minaj, MIA and Cee lo Greene. Not sure if they are considered a rap group but the Black Eyed Peas were the headliners for the 2011 Super Bowl.
No matter how many times I watch this halftime show I love it every time. This was Compton where they all got there start one was the club they all played at before making it big
There was nothing wrong with this halftime show, but I'm ready for a Metallica or something for the halftime show. It's now been 12 years since a proper rock band did it, the last time was The Who in 2010.
Unfortunately rock isn’t really appreciated in the states. It’s mainly mainstream generic artists like Billie Eilish, Bruno Mars, Harry Styles, Ed Sheeran etc etc, who will take the stage. I can vouch for a rock halftime show because that’s pretty much all I listen to, but this halftime show was a masterpiece. NFL got this one right that’s for sure.
@@irvinarias6838 Yeah I get that but before that they had Tom petty, Bruce Springsteen, and Prince could be considered rock n roll, there’s at least an element of that. But most football fans in my estimation, especially ones over 30, are not in to Billie Eilish and Katy perry. That’s all I’m sayin, they’ve done enough with their dumb girly music over the years, it’s time to get something else in there. You could say “well people wouldn’t know all the songs” you think anybody over 30 knew MAAD City? Lol. But this year was great, I agree. Daz said Kendrick was the best part I disagree, I think Dre was the best part. Him doing California love was just fire.
At least rock has been featured before - and within recent years. Hip hop is enormously popular globally, yet this was the first time it's EVER been featured, which is crazy.
@@anyaw340 Yeah, but given the nature of the genre it doesn't lend itself to live performance like a rock concert. Most of it is pre-recorded except for a couple vocal microphones.
Dr. Dre suffered an aneurysm one year ago, which could have killed him or left him with serious mental/physical impairments. Thank God, it appears he has made a full and complete recovery.
You should do a reaction to the Michael Jackson half time show. He made the halftime show become the spectacle it has to be today. Before him the Superbowl wasnt nearly as big.
Hip-hop/ rap has simply taken over the pop scene. It is the definition of popular music now, and it was really energized by these legends. That's why it is so easy for American artists to stay so relevant. Radio hits simply don't carry the same weight of pop that it used to when Eminem would make songs about murdering his wife and get no radio plays but be heard all over through CD's. You can see the influence that rap has in that even country artists are creating hip hop style songs with rappers ( Wallen and lil durk for example). The genres have just become so engrossed with mainstream without needing to conform to typical pop media outlets because it includes so many different styles
All halftime acts play to one side, marching bands, singers, etc.. the ground was the streets of Compton where some of them have roots in. I heard the three cars had the hydraulic lifts to have them bouncing, but the NFL told them they could not incase if they broke and oil from the Hydraulic pistons got all over that area of the field, they could not play the game anymore. normal games are a 15 minute halftime, but super bowl its 30 minutes.. You guys need to react to Princes half time show, that was great one! it starts to rain during purple rain.

American here but I know a British group that can and does do something like this. Muse. They put on the best live show I have ever seen in my life. They haven’t been doing it for as long as Dre and Snoop but they have a ton of hits and the album Absolution turns 20 next year.
In the UK, maybe. In the US, they don't have universal appeal. Americans who aren't fans of that genre don't know who they are. They don't have one song that most people have heard even if they aren't a fan (they don't have a "California Love" or "Lose Yourself"). They would need something like the Rolling Stones. Queen with Adam Lambert as the lead vocalist puts on a very good show, as well.

@@AnaAcuraErica about to say the same thing 😂
Nfl says they said no such shit
Also the knee was part of show and it was meant to be a symbol of respect. People associate shit to other bs and make stories up
@@AnaAcuraErica proof or youre ✨lying✨

Watch the NFL films story about Prince’s halftime show. The man performed purple rain in the rain!!! The legend continues. Prince was really everything they say he was. That is still the Number 1 Super Bowl halftime for me along with Michael Jackson and U2. This was awesome as well I just wanted different songs! Still off the chain good tho. Props to Jay-Z for getting the deal for this done! He will be up there next!! Just watch
Lady Gaga was my favorite. ..
th-cam.com/video/7NN3gsSf-Ys/w-d-xo.html&feature=share. It’s on the NFL channel (documentary)
The black college marching band from my city was the band that performed with him that night
This year’s show was definitely one of my favorites ever. Prince☔️ and U2 round out my top three. Lady Gaga was right up there though; she was awesome.
What diff songs would you choose? Beside Kendrick performing Humble (his only #1) everyone performed their biggest most Iconic songs
I missed Mike, I love you all you lads but it was a pleasant surprise to see him!
The Jlo & Shakira halftime was really good as well. The Bruno Mars one was good, as well as the one with Coldplay ft Bruno Mars & Beyonce!
Hmm. They were okay, but I wouldn't list them above Prince or Michael Jackson.
In terms of performance i would say Prince, and Jlo and Shakira... lets remove Micheal Jackson from this... he is in a league cant be touched!!!
Mike was spot on 50 was upside down as a homage to the original music video
Would love to see reactions to past halftime shows 👀
the best ever this far guys to be from California it makes you so dam proud
Good reaction video. I lost count how many times I've watched the halftime show. 🤗
Been waiting for this reaction!
Shakira and JLO also did an iconic Super Bowl halftime show. It was in Miami, Fl and it celebrated Latino heritage.
That is in my top 5 performances. I still watch it.
Agreed. This the first time they invited hip hop and rap to the Super Bowl. They made a grand entrance. ❤
Iconic?? Lmaoo 🤣😂. Doesnt even break top 30 best performances 😅.
Iconic is one TREMENDOUS stretch. 🤦🏽♀️
Whoa.
I love your reactions guys..keep it up boys🔥🔥🔥🔥
About the drinking in the stands, I heard from someone who was there that the price for one beer was $20.00.
$17 for cheapest. $12 for jumbo hot dog and $7 for 20 ounce soda.
That's not as bad as I would have thought. Still crazy but considering the price of tickets
Yeah that isn’t bad. Just a little above movie theater prices(the food).
@@kev792 I got those prices off of a Google search so hopefully they were accurate.
@@erniejones5008 oh ok 😂😂
Anybody realize that old dude was vibing the whole time. He didn't stop nodding his head. He couldn't help it.
I HAVE BEEN WATCHING THE SHOW AND LOOKING FOR ALL THE EASTER EGGS...
I LOVE READING THE COMMENTS ..
THE SHOW WAS ON FIRE !!
JUST THINK ALL THESE ICONS WAS SHARING THE STAGE....THAT MAKES THIS SO MIND BLOWING...IT'S NOT JUST ONE ICON BUT A WHOLE FAMILY OF ICONS..
Snoop Dog, Dr Dre, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem are some of the best wordsmiths in the industry. I love the fact they paid homage to Tupac.
I absolutely LOVE how OB Mike is feelin' the beats 🎉🎉🎉 9:31
Plus OB Davw 🎉🎉
When Eminem took a knee, the song Dre was playing on the keyboard was Tupac's "I Ain't Mad Atcha". Obvious message to the NFL about the Colin Kaepernick situation.
Mike being the only one who knew that 50 cent was upside down in the original video haha wasn’t expecting that.
😂👍🏻
Snoop and Dre have got two of the most iconic voices
January 4 2021 Dr Dre had a brain aneurysm, February 13th 2022 he's on stage orchestrating, directing, producing and performing in the Super Bowl Halftime show... That's crazy.
So nice of Dr DRE to let the super bowl play at his concert
you guys should definitely watch more halftime shows
The best superbowl performance ever.
I love y'all two on the side but I really really love the old man in the middle he was feeling the music
I love the fact that all of the three heads start moving when Eminem was singing 😂
You guys should react to so many more Super Bowl half time shows. They’re so cool. JLo, Coldplay, Bruno Mars
🤣🤣🤣
@@SE-gs6gd what 🤷♀️ I know there are plenty more. Prince, Bruce Springsteen, Beyoncé, etc
At least name some good ones. Like Prince and Michael Jackson
Idk if Mike could survive the J Lo halftime show lmao
Super Bowl halftime shows are many things including spectacles, but "cool" is not really how I would describe any of the ones you mention.
The UK can do shows like this, the Olympics opening was amazing (if a bit bloated, they could have done with the half-time time limit)
Lol rock reigned supreme in it's time. There are more popular genres today.
Probably gonna be the most talked about Super Bowl HT Show for a long time
I love how they had all the fat girls dancing around snoop in the beginning (almost certainly per his request) 😂
Snoop played high school football before he graduated and he coaches kid's sports. His children are athletes too.
The show was AMAZING. OMG! ❤
Dr. Dre suffered an aneurysm one year ago, which could have killed him or left him with serious mental/physical impairments. Thank God, it appears he has made a full and complete recovery.
Wish we could have said the same thing with Maradona
@@irvinarias6838
Unfortunately, he died of cardiac arrest
27:00 Paul McCartney was the main halftime act just a few years ago IIRC.
You should do a reaction to the Michael Jackson half time show. He made the halftime show become the spectacle it has to be today. Before him the Superbowl wasnt nearly as big.
I enjoyed watching the subtle head bobbin I was smiling.
Not Daz saying Snoop is built like a corner flag😂😂😂
All halftime acts play to one side, marching bands, singers, etc.. the ground was the streets of Compton where some of them have roots in. I heard the three cars had the hydraulic lifts to have them bouncing, but the NFL told them they could not incase if they broke and oil from the Hydraulic pistons got all over that area of the field, they could not play the game anymore. normal games are a 15 minute halftime, but super bowl its 30 minutes.. You guys need to react to Princes half time show, that was great one! it starts to rain during purple rain.
9:45 Mike = One pound fifty cent!!! 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
That's why Mike is a real OG understanding 50 hanging upside down he got Street Credit he's invited to the barbecue straight-up old-school gangster Mike
You could probably see Anderson Paak’s smile from space. When I saw me on the screen, I almost screamed. I was so hype.
I'ma keep supporting y'all three
We must admit...USA rules the World...just look at how crazy and beautiful this Music is...the lively audience in attendance...the Class of the whole show!!super crazy and exciting...the Legends performed.
I think every country is beautiful in their own way and I think people fail to realize the U.S is the heart and soul of things people love
@PhillyBoy 2125 That's true because I'm American and love experiencing other cultures and travel. Other countries are unique and have greatness to explore...💯🎯👍❤🥰
You guys should look into the 6 minute nfl shuffle. They can move the stages in and out in 6 minutes. Which must be extremely difficult
Prince, MJ and Beyoncé are my top 3 half time shows.
Mike is the man!! 💪
Great pause😂😂😂
Damn! What a fantastic amazing show!!🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🔥🔥🔥. My gosh!! Wow!! All the amazing musicians… ICONIC!🔥🔥
I find it funny that people talk about Eminem’s knee and Snoop’s blazing up before the show but not a peep about Snoop throwing gang signs and substituting his normal bandana for an outfit designed after it. I don’t care one way or the other, it just boggles my mind lol
