Paul I so envy the fact that you just showed at least 3 generations in a room and all having the ability to teach, show or learn how to work with there hands
Looks like the Corvair is gonna be finished first. I like the way the rigs look now while they are being built. I like the way this Jeep looks right now. Should be fun.
Matt had a vid this morning and now you do. If the Essential Craftsman had one today it would be near perfect! And today is my week I don’t go to church. Thanks Paul!
All three channels you just mentioned are also my three favorites. I could listen to Scott from Essential Craftsman all day every day. Dude has such a vast array of knowledge and explains it absolutely perfectly.
Your work is so awesome Paul , that's one heck of a roll cage you built there sir . You have done a amazing job on Papa Dars Jeep . Looking forward to your next video sir. Until next time take care and be safe.
I think it is "How many times are you planning to survive the roll" vs "How many times are you planning on rolling". I think he plans to roll all the way down. Unless Matt pulls the banana in the way to stop him!
@@jakep5121 I have no doubt that you're correct about that, and most of this cage does serve a genuine purpose in a worst case scenario. but things like those 2 extra angles behind the front seats and a lot of what's on the roof are superfluous. I would say redundancy is the only purpose for a lot of them.
Great work as usual Paul. Most likely shift linkages are lose? Possibly a broken pivot bolt. You've inspired me to start a channel showing how I repair and restore old welding machines.
When you build a roll cage that you can drop a building on...that’s Fab Rats! Probably could also double as a kid’s jungle gym! Will be sad time to see Papa Dar’s jeep not in the shop, but can’t wait to see it flexing on the trail!
That hole saw jig is _awesome!_ Also, good for him. You can't beat a $2⁰⁰ truck. I miss my first ever truck! I wish I still had it 13:56 Your oldest is a mirror image of you btw.
As soon as the video starts I hit that like button. I know I'm about to learn something, laugh and be inspired. Your videos never fail! Keep it up 🤘🏻🤘🏻 Love this jeep build!
The cage looks awesome. You have to include a bar behind the front seats that goes from behind drivers head to behind passenger seat. Then a bar straight across between the B pillar bars. You can also do a complete X behind the front seats. These bars will stop the cage from collapsing if rolled over. Look at any race car and you will see what I am talking about.
Now if you sheet that beautiful cage if papa rolls it over on snow he will slide all the way home. Really that’s the nicest cage I’ve ever seen great job. I still think Ramcharger orange white top. Love the looks of it.
Nice job on the cage build Paul , probly went through a spool of wire just about Ha !! This summers gonna have some outstanding off road trips I can feel it !! Papa Dar's got himself a machine !!
Wow, 2 videos dropped about the same time, Matt's and Fab Rats! Fab Rats won the which to watch first! We can see the satisfaction that Dar and Paul have with the completion of this build coming to a conclusion.
I wish Paul had an ironworker too! (also while we're wishing, I'll take one for myself as well 😉) let's hope someone in upper management from one of those big name manufacturers becomes a fan of the channel 😄👍
Judging by the amount of reinforcements in the cage, PapaDar must like that skinny pedal even with a tire off the ground lol This is some cool content. makes me want to throw money at a garage and learn to fabricate the correct way
Hay fab rats, like watching you all on you tube, have small shop out side caldwell, idaho- sandhollow. See you using wd-40 alot, I use to myself. Now use a product called free all, really like it. So sending you two cans to try.
Hey Paul, in the refinery with welders, there are always Fire Watch personnel around any welding job sites. That might be something to consider, after Land caught that one. Not bagging on ya, but like Mrs. Michelle with the eye and hearing protection, we just want you to see and hear in a few years.
That's a pretty stout roll cage! I've seen the places you go and expect that with all that weight on top, it will get put to the test at some point. Papa Dar might want to invest in a stout harness and some limb restraints!
Cool roll cage set-up, the blue Nissan pick-up is cool. I have a 94 Nissan Altima SE with the 5-speed manual transmission. Mines had the 2.4L 4-cylinder engine which it shared with the Nissan pick-up during that time and the engine lasted me a lil over 465,000 miles so I know the 2.4L engines were well made, I retired the car and put it up on cement blocks and the dogs use it as a shade during the summer months lol 👍🇺🇸..
I roughly calculated the added weight from the estimated lengths of the tubing in the roll cage. I won’t disclose it so as not to embarrass myself; but, Papa Dar better not be planning on taking that beastie out into the sand here in Utah. (Yes, I am a native) He will sink like a rock tossed into quicksand. The more he fights against it and the faster his wheels spin the quicker he will sink. As a rock crawler he would be advised to add several hundred pounds of lead to the bottom half of his Jeep to redefine and to relocate the centroid of his Jeep so he DOESN’T roll over. LOOKS GOOD, though.

Awesome!! Hope you love it!!
from a covair burnout to a jeep cage. what a great Sunday morning
agreed! couldn't havr asked for a better morning llineup
My thoughts exactly
Lol right there with ya
lol same
That's damn near an external frame!
love watching, these folks feel like family, thanks for taking the time to make it all, keep up the good work
Paul I so envy the fact that you just showed at least 3 generations in a room and all having the ability to teach, show or learn how to work with there hands
Great looking $2 truck. Can't beat that. And great progress on they Jeep.
The jeep is really coming together, love the show. can't wait to see the jeep up against the corvair lol
Looks like the Corvair is gonna be finished first. I like the way the rigs look now while they are being built. I like the way this Jeep looks right now. Should be fun.

The true test of any good crawler. "Grandma's ditch!"
Make sure you weld a d ring on the cage for Papa Dars hammock after a long day wheeling 👍💪
When you said a roll cage...you meant a ROLL CAGE! Ol’e Papa Dar must take his “ having fun “ seriously!
love watching your videos and seeing your great things from scratch
🤣 First words heard " Dad we got a 🔥"... welding, grinding and an occasional fire ... lol... garage life! 💖💪👍
I wanna see the shake down run with Dar's jeep and the Corvair!
Your work is so awesome Paul , that's one heck of a roll cage you built there sir . You have done a amazing job on Papa Dars Jeep . Looking forward to your next video sir. Until next time take care and be safe.
How many times you planning on rolling that thing? That’s a lot of tube lol.
I think it is "How many times are you planning to survive the roll" vs "How many times are you planning on rolling". I think he plans to roll all the way down. Unless Matt pulls the banana in the way to stop him!
There's a lot of weight in the drivetrain so if it lands upside-down it won't crush. Worst case survival.
Years of welding and wheeling says this man knows what he's doin.

I'd weld the crap out of it to if my Dad was in it.
Love to see a father son team. Me & my dad do things like that together. He tought me all my metal working skills and lots more. Nice cage man!
Awesome video/fabrication! I can’t wait to see papa Dar wheel this thing, it’s going to be an animal!
Providing it can move 😊
The jeep is looking good. Can’t wait for the Willys build to start.
Great work as usual Paul. Most likely shift linkages are lose? Possibly a broken pivot bolt. You've inspired me to start a channel showing how I repair and restore old welding machines.
Nice to see you passing on your knowledge to your kids! And that old Nissan D21 is awsome! Some truck heritage right there.
Awesome work! Real fabrication is why I watch. Nice flex!

Your oldest is a mirror image of you btw.
There's nothing more gratifying than building your own stuff, from scratch. Lucky.
Paul, the only thing I could think of when flexing jeep is to lower tire pressures and check clearances. Excellent work on fabricating cage.
Nice roll cage...keeping papa Darr safe. Better to be safe than not. Nice video...👍👌
Cant wait to watch you guys pull Matt out with that
Calling that cage stout is an understatement...that is a monster of an cage
Paul, a man of many talents!!!!!!!!!!!1
Nice job on the Rollcage...Sweet...Great video thank you for sharing
Can’t wait to see this and the corvair do some wheelin!
Looks great. You will figure out the transmission. You can do it.
I'm glad papa dars arm is back in working order.
As soon as the video starts I hit that like button. I know I'm about to learn something, laugh and be inspired. Your videos never fail! Keep it up 🤘🏻🤘🏻 Love this jeep build!

DAMN That is a serious Roll cage Great work boys it is looking fantastic and great to see Papa Dar with out the sling!!
WOW! That cage is Badass!!👍
You definitely could use an Ironworker, Paul. They are very handy.
Now if you sheet that beautiful cage if papa rolls it over on snow he will slide all the way home. Really that’s the nicest cage I’ve ever seen great job. I still think Ramcharger orange white top. Love the looks of it.
Can't wait to see the next episode.
She’s a BEAST! Great build.
Nice job on the cage build Paul , probly went through a spool of wire just about Ha !! This summers gonna have some outstanding off road trips I can feel it !! Papa Dar's got himself a machine !!
Bravo Bravo Bravo!!! Cage looks amazing Paul! The transmission on the other hand, gotta fix that! The flex also is pretty sick!!! Good job!!!
I was bored. Then boom. New video. Perfect timing Fab Rats 👍👍
hopefully papa Dar keeps the shiny up and the greasy down but if not no worries the jungle gym will protect him for sure, nice job on the roll cage
Wow, 2 videos dropped about the same time, Matt's and Fab Rats! Fab Rats won the which to watch first! We can see the satisfaction that Dar and Paul have with the completion of this build coming to a conclusion.
Great build man.
I like when Papa gets in there wrenchs around when he can
I wished I lived closer, just to help out around the shop and learn as much as I can.
I wish Paul had an ironworker too! (also while we're wishing, I'll take one for myself as well 😉) let's hope someone in upper management from one of those big name manufacturers becomes a fan of the channel 😄👍
Really digging You all's productions and YT Channel.
Thanks for watching!!!
Awesome vid Paul. Patiently waiting for the next one 💪🏼👍🏼
Hello,
I enjoy your videos very much. I’ve even rewatched some to learn some really neat stuff. You done some really cool projects.
You know you live in a great small town when older farmers gift their old vehicles to eager boys anxious to work hard on them!
Waking up to Papa Dar is always great. Next best thing is any video rescuing Matt...
This is my favorite fab channel!!
Bloody fantastic! Impressive flex! 👌💪👍
that has to be the best roll cage ever! What a build!
Good morning 🌞 everyone
Sweet cage. Nice job. Thanks for video.
Good Job Paul!!!!!👍💯
Another great video guys and taking the time too teach your son also. keep on going looking forward to watching more videos
Dar will definitely be safe if it rolls over. Nice cage
More steel in the cage than the entirety of the rest of the jeep...including the engine.
those Nissans are awesome we had one growing up on our ranch and we could take that thing damn near anywhere we wanted to take it.
What a roll cage! Hopefully it's not top heavy. Thanks for the show fabrats👍
Good video as always Paul.
Paul can build anything! He’s the freaking man!
Judging by the amount of reinforcements in the cage, PapaDar must like that skinny pedal even with a tire off the ground lol
This is some cool content. makes me want to throw money at a garage and learn to fabricate the correct way
That was a LOT of welding!
Nice roll cage!!!!! That’s how to build a roll cage.☺️☺️☺️👍👍👍
Think you could drop it from an airplane and have it survive landing on the roof. Looks great! Thanks for sharing these builds with us
Looks awesome
Great job on the roll cage !
Sick cage and Fab work ... That jeep would look bad ass with a canvas safari top on it ..
That roll cage is going to be a head banger when it gets bumpy
That is one sweet ride!
Fair play paul there's some nice fab work gone into that cage m8 👌🏼👌🏼🤘🤘🤙🤙
FAB RATS and Matt off-road rock
I just love your stuff. Thanks.
Hay fab rats, like watching you all on you tube, have small shop out side caldwell, idaho- sandhollow. See you using wd-40 alot, I use to myself. Now use a product called free all, really like it. So sending you two cans to try.
I like free all too! Good stuff I think! I love the smell haha
You an Mat just the best.
looking good boys!... nice work!... thanks 4 video. be kind.
That's one all some roll cage 💯
We say "scosh" here in PA too. Nice work. Can't wait to see Dar wheeling it
Hey Paul, in the refinery with welders, there are always Fire Watch personnel around any welding job sites. That might be something to consider, after Land caught that one.
Not bagging on ya, but like Mrs. Michelle with the eye and hearing protection, we just want you to see and hear in a few years.
I think it is awesome that you and Matt are on the same upload time schedule for the most part.
Hey what's a good place to live in the area. Looking at St George but still to big of a town.
That's a pretty stout roll cage! I've seen the places you go and expect that with all that weight on top, it will get put to the test at some point. Papa Dar might want to invest in a stout harness and some limb restraints!
Now that's a proper cage, nice job. As for the transmission, tomorrows another day.
Gotta keep ole Dar safe!
Can’t wait to see Dars Jeep and Matt’s Corvair and Paul’s yota off-road! That’s going to be the best video ever!
What you need is a small Shear and a Press Break for bending to go with that Pipe Bender.
Looks like a jungle gym attached to a jeep
Gonna be a sweet sweet rig.
That’s talent right there. Nice video
"Just a skosh more..." Was that a metric skosh or an SAE one?
Whitworth Standards .at have been accidentally used.
That’s an impressive amount of work
Damn at that point you could've just used steel plate for the cage lol. Great video
I roughly calculated the added weight from the estimated lengths of the tubing in the roll cage. Addicted to spark. You sure seem to have a good time. lol
