Yeah no problem at all! Are you guys a full fly shop or just make these videos? I'm from colorado and just started tying flies and would love to see some more of your patterns!
Devin Brita Awesome, I'm in MN, but my brother lived in CO for a decade or so. I got to fish out there a bit. Things started as a blog and now I've got a small online shop. Check it out hammercreekflyfishing.com lots of patterns, gear reviews etc. Thanks again
Very good job Sir. I just started tying Flies again and forgot how too do this. I was doing a Teds Stonefly variation and the trout possibly think its a crayfish in which I don't care lol. Its an incredible technique . Ty
This weave is much simpler than the crochet style I have seen used for dragonfly nymphs... I may be sizing this up for some large dragonfly nymphs for carp and bass.
Great video. I've never seen the weave technique taught so simply. Video tip, set your focus point and then turn off your auto focus so the camera isn't searching for something to focus on like a finger.
Arkansas Fly Fishing Thanks again. It does take a little bit to get into rhythm especially with floss. I often advise folks to use wire when they start weaving because it stays put! Anyway hope the pattern works well for you. Thanks for checking it out!
How would a trout refuse that fly? Beats me! Amazing looking fly and thanks for sharing the process of building one! Now I need to buy a new material or two! Question: Would these take a long time to dry out after fishing them with all that bulk in the weave? I'm newer to tying so this may be helpful to know so it doesn't go back into the box too soon. But then this looks like a fly that should always be on the tippet!
+Fred Block Thanks for the kind words and checking out my videos. The material dries out fairly quickly, but I've also started applying a head cement or nail polish on the body. Gives it some extra protection and should help the dry time. Thanks!
Thanks Jared...I've got a small shop on my site where I sell flies, tying materials etc. you can check it out here www.hammercreekflyfishing.com/store/c1/Featured_Products.html Cheers!
There is a much neater/faster/easier way to weave where you don't let go of the material. I prefer that to this method. Neater and faster. I find letting go of the material leads to an inconsistent result. Just an FYI. Nice pattern tho!
+Stephen Palmateer Thanks for checking out the video and feedback. Feel free to watch it a couple times before tying or pause it at times when I'm going to fast for you. Good luck, tight lines
I know this is over 10 years old, but one of the best examples of tying a woven floss body. Very easy to follow 👌 👍
If I were ever able - somehow - to tie something that nice there is absolutely no way I would dare fish it!
that is by far one of the most gorgeous flies I have ever seen.
Really appreciate the feedback, thanks for tuning in!
Nice job very realistic you don’t know if a fish could resist. Thanks for sharing.
That's a belter mate all the best fae Scotland tightlines.

This is sooooo out of my league but I accept the challenge. Thank you for sharing.
Stellar job dude!
This weave is much simpler than the crochet style I have seen used for dragonfly nymphs... I may be sizing this up for some large dragonfly nymphs for carp and bass.
A macramé knot is what I started using, it leaves the same effect and gives a lot more freedom for creativity since it uses a knot
Nice work and great narration.
Superb! I hope you catch lots of fish with these.
Great video. I've never seen the weave technique taught so simply. Video tip, set your focus point and then turn off your auto focus so the camera isn't searching for something to focus on like a finger.
