Mechanically speaking, this piece is awful for trumpet; or the trumpet wasn't made to play this. Etc. Alison only makes it looks easy because she is a Goddess on the trumpet. You can find dozens of recordings of violinist playing this piece because it was made for the instrument they are holding. Trumpet recordings are rare.
@@ghp7382 I’m not sure if you’re quite familiar with the trumpet instrument then, you are making it sound like all you have to do is play into the mouthpiece and alter the fingers, which is, completely wrong. The amount of small changes of the embouchure every fraction of a second to alter the wind speed and pitch, is absolutely phenomenal in a piece like this, because it isn’t written for trumpet. Also, altering your embouchure is nothing like fingering notes on a piano, or guitar, I’m not saying it’s more difficult, I’m just speaking as someone who plays both piano and trumpet.
If you are a trumpet player you have to listen to this twice; the first time to be amazed by her flexibility and accuracy, and the second to really appreciate the expression and musicality.

as a violinist, this piece is like in the top 5 of the most difficult pieces and is extremely hard in terms of technique and intonation and sometimes it doesn't sound pretty well. here you are playing a piece that wasn't even written for trumpet and is incredibly played. really enjoyed it! the trumpet gives the piece a very different, bright and unique sound
I don't think it's more difficult than Wieniawski concerto 1, Nel cor piu mi non sento, God save the queen Paganini variations, Paganini violin concertos, Bartok 2nd violin concerto, etc. I thinl theres many pieces more difficult than 24th Caprice.

As a trumpet player and a violinist, regardless of how the piece is composed or what instrument is playing it, this is a fantastic piece. The way it's played by both violin and trumpet varies on the person playing and I believe Alison played it beautifully. So, please don't criticize and just listen. Music is for a person's enjoyment. I believe that wholeheartedly.

You should look up circular breathing
playing this on trumpet is harder than violin because of high blowing.
