I agree that the LS inspiration series is not much on the pictures. But it changes the way you look at it the moment you see it in person and drove it. The combination of the black and true white is a little risky at some point but I like it esp. with the Kiriko. The white made it more tasteful at night when the ambient lighting shines on it in comparable with the Executive interior with all black, black pleats and Kiriko. The Inspiration Sonic Agate color is more attractive in person than in pictures and I know, it's not like everyone's cup of tea. For Lexus and Toyota, colors like these signifies Royalty, just like the Crown, Corona or Camry (meaning little crown). This Sonic Agate is mostly on the darker side color near black at some angles but with kinda deep laser red in the sun. Which at some point I find it interesting and I think it can grow on me.

It would be cool if Lexus decided to introduce a "Maybach"competitor version of the LS. Something ultra luxurious to make a statement.

@@javierduran1390 You have to look at it at their perspective. It just wouldn't be profitable. They lost millions of dollars on the LFA. It's just not financially feasible. They're coming out with that ultra luxurious van, but it's kind of ugly.

We need that new twin-turbo V8 in a LS-F as soon as it drops for the LC-F.

Interesting, in China the LS500 comes with these finished wheels on the LS500 since 2018. So, I guess that their market is the most important, as the US keeps getting stuff later and sold as "Limited" for the US or N.American market. I was initially upset when I two 1/18th scale LS500 from China with these wheels. I chrome plated a set of wheels on one of my models. Glad that I left the other with this finish after seeing this posting.

Kirk, I love your channel. Can you do a video on why Lexus refuses to properly illuminate there interiors like there German rivals. I am just curious why the German 3 look absolutely stunning inside at night and then you get in a modern equivalent Lexus and the interior is dark and so lack luster. Is there a reason why they don't incorporate the use of multi led lights like every other premium luxury car maker?

@@KirkKreifels Yeah believe it or not when your spending that much money on a car and there both pretty similarly equipped, for most it comes down to gimmicky things like how the interior is illuminated at night and being able to customize and choose your favorite color while riding in your car that could lead a buyer to choose that over a dark poorly lit interior with no customization.

@@2001COUPE Totally agreed...I'm a 100% Lexus loyal owner but once in awhile I crossed that road and tested drive some of the German rivals and their interior illuminate lighting is so cool at night.

@@JustinTPat Yes! Same here I just test drove a 2019 Mercedes Benz E55 AMG and that thing is a beast and to top it off its cool looking with all the interior color choices and customization of the gauge clusters. I was holding off on replacing my 2016 GS F-Sport to see if Lexus would come to there senses about giving us a 5th generation, but it looks highly doubtful. I think the Mercedes E as a lease will be next for me, because the ES is not even on my radar.

    • @KirkKreifels
      @KirkKreifels  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Don't be shy to look into LS leases as well. E-class can price as high as an LS.
As for customization, Lexus doesn't give you a whole lot of options. They need to implement carplay and android auto on ALL OF THEIR vehicles as a #1 priority IMO. Then, they need to hurry in offering more electric options ASAP. Just my 2 cents. Peace!

As a big Toyota and Lexus fan
I must say they have to wake up quickly
Your loyal fans are not going to stick forever if you don't give them what they want
Yes they are trying when they brought out the LC and Toyot a the yaris GRMN etc. But it's not enought and we know these companies can do so much more if they want to
So many models are long in the tooth technology and engines outdated etc.
They must know loyal fans will stick around but for how much longer

From my eyes, the paint highly resembles the gorgeous black cherry pearl of my LS 430, which is one of my favourite colours along with satin cashmere. Thumbs down Lexus to discontinue these classic colours. >.< Personally I still prefer the walnut wood trim to the "glass diamonds".....
Working in a dealership, how often do you see a LS loaded with executive package? I am quite confident that my 2015 460L is an upgraded model (but not sure what package she has loaded with ML, air suspension and is a LWB herself. It is to my surprise that there are no rear climate control buttons like my LS 430 LOL Isn't that a must to have function in a LS?
Anyway I cannot wait to get a LS 500 with satin cashmere paint preferably with executive package (drooling now) when the vehicle depreciates to the $35K range (haha don't judge me please as I may be a cheapskate).

If you are an LS430 or LS460 driver/fan, your next car is probably not LS500. I was very unimpressed with it when I test drove it. Lexus made a huge mistake with this vehicle.

    Hmm.........lets take a look:
    Outdated IS
    Outdated GS
Outdated GX (slightly refreshed for 2020 but STILL not up to par when compared to other SUV's in the GX's segment)
    Outdated LX
Cheap, hard plastics in the ES 350 (take a look at the ES 350's tacky door armrests and center console area)
LS 500 has no V8 option (why in the HELL didn't Lexus just put the LC 500's 471 hp V8 in LS 500?)
Why isn't the awesome LF-1 SUV concept in production?
Why develop a Lexus LC convertible when the standard LC isn't selling well?
    Dated infotainment systems
with no touch screens (2020 RX is the first Lexus model in the lineup with an infotainment based touchscreen)
    Antiquated GUI graphics
No Apple Carplay & Android Auto available on most of Lexus lineup (yeah, yeah, now the 2019 ES finally has Apple Car Play while 2020 RX models at last have both Apple & Android available, welcome to the 21st century Lexus SMH)
Lexus has been resting a little too much on it's reliability & quality laurels however their faithful customer base will eventually abandon the brand if they continue with this lackadaisical, short sighted approach to building luxury automobiles.

    • @KirkKreifels

Unless you seee it in person, Autumn Shimmer and Sonic Agate both look similar in pictures. In person, Autumn Shimmer is Brown metallic And Sonic Agate is deep red with lots of black hint. And you're right colorful Lexus colors are not for everyone. I missed the Flint Mica.

LS MUST have a V8. That’s the point of the LS. Over engineered to be reliable and nothing but the highest in class / luxury. The twin turbski V6 pisses me right off! This is not a Ford EcoBoost. My opinion.
