I hate when people say Crystallized ruined all of Ninjago. It was terrible but Ninjago Masters of Spinjitsu ended in 2019 after 8 years. Crystallized was part of ‘Ninjago’ whilst part of Ninjago continuity it is a separate show to Masters of Spinjitsu so if you wanted to you could see March of the ONI as the conclusion as it very clearly is to Master of Spinjitsu. Also original Ninjago ended in 2019. Ninjago:Masters of Spinjitsu 2011-2019 is clearly a different show to Ninjago 2019-2022, different animation studios, 11 minute episode lengths and season 10 was clearly a conclusion to Masters of Spinjitsu. So there are three series: Ninjago Master of Spinjitsu 2011-2019 with 100 episodes, Ninjago 2019-2022 which has 5 seasons and a story for each ninja, and finally Ninjago Dragons rising which began in 2022 and is still going which is massive improvement over Ninjago. I give Ninjago Masters of Spinjitsu 8/10, Ninjago 6/10 and Ninjago Dragons rising, so far 9/10. I do find really dark season interesting but season 1 is clearly the best season of original Ninjago whilst it may not be a favourite it is in my opinion the best, feeling like an actual season not a random story and gave all the characters equal focus and set up Garmadon really well.
Masters of Spinjitzu and Ninjago are the same show. Broadcasters list them as seperate but everyone involved in their production and LEGO themselves (Ninjago tenth anniversary poster for example) say they are the same series. The seperation is just a broadcaster thing
@@Crusty783 Yes that is true, I like to see them as separate, even though they are seen as the same show, officially they king of are not they have different animation studios, different episode lengths and why does the Lego TH-cam Channel refer to Crystallized as season 4.
@@TheRealandOnlyMrEI understand wanting to seperate them given that MOS is kinda better and had a bunch better ending and doing that personally is fine but it IS important to remember that objectively speaking that isnt the case
its kinda sad how little attention Ninjago gets outside of its own community. especially considering how good Dragons Rising is, more people should support it. (i think thats just a problem with it not being advertised outside of lego). (also hot take: DR is already better than most of ninjago except for maybe 8/9) Whenever a ninjago post does get out of the target audience, like 98% of the comments are about “the show fell off after _ season” or “new designs bad, not my ninjago” and the classic “the show is still going?” like imagine if a popular cartoon youtuber made a video on DR from someone who barley watched Original Ninjago itd be interesting to hear their thoughts & opinions about the show without having context from the OG.
The issue is that ninjago has so many random miniseries, some only available on youtube, at 240p, through books, or not at all, which makes things very confusing.
I just like screwing with people who haven’t seen the show in a while by saying “Cole’s VA died, Wu is dead, Jay and Nya are technically married, and Kai is a single dad!”
The Ninjago Franchise is Absolutely Awesome But it does Have Some Problems I Give it a 8/10 The Original Ninjago Series is Awesome but Has Some Problems I Give it a 8/10 and Now Ninjago’s Sequel Series Dragons Rising it is Such a Super Awesome, Fantastic and Amazing Series I Love It So Much So Much Better Than The Original Series in my Opinion 10/10 for Me You Rock Ninjago😎🔥
sora is about 15 years old as of the start of DR (confirmed in a brent miller video iirc) whereas pre-merge Arin and Sora are little kids, anywhere from about 9-11 years old. 5 years is a pretty reasonable timegap guess based on that imo. my full timeline guess though is: end of crystalized -> 1 year -> the merge -> 5 years -> arin and sora meet lloyd
@@Crusty783 not sure but for some reason in that scene where zane was found by kai and nya i thought it said “ its been 5 years “ in the subtitles or captions. Is that just a mandela? Like i cant read or something?
I don't get why you say that wildbrain era dropped the "marketing to new audience" pretty fast. It was not until crystalized that there are legit big dependencies on the previous show And even then, you can get most of it by context.
because within wildbrain's first two seasons we had -the preeminent show up -a jay finale centering around skybound lore -an intimate fight scene between lloyd and a harumi clone -the entirety of the ice chapter being about recovering from the trauma of events newcomer viewers havent seen WB era never really knew if it wanted to be a direct continuation or a new beginning and i think that really hurt it. Made a whole video on the topic if that interests you

@@Nacil_54the pilot was just 2 Ninjago episodes though. Island and DOTD are condensed 44 minute long special episodes. The episode cut of The Island is very interesting for that because Island is intended to be a special but then broadcasters snipped it up last minute. I might have to make a vid on that someday as the circumstances surrounding what the island is are so weird😅
@@Crusty783 the island was split into 4 episodes, the pilot was supposed to be four 11 minutes episodes, but they did also make it in 2 episodes format, and one, I even have the DVD where they called it the movie, honestly it's just better to have two types of installments, under 45 minutes and 1, 2, or 4 epidodes long, special, above 45 minutes, season.
I remember when I watched this show when I was younger, I never knew it had a story till I saw it on netflix I watched till the season that had the tournament thingy then it didn’t have any more seasons and I didn’t know when the next one would come out so I stopped watching and years later I randomly find this post that says cole (was that his name?) was gay Kai is dead and jay was evil and now I’m so faking confused and what happened to the character designs? Also the VA’s why did they decide to change it?
I issue with his series is…almost everything regresses. He introduces the elemental masters only to never see them again, in fact he did the SAME THING he did with Ash, Shade, and Neruo with Gravis, BoloBo, and Jacob. A lot of his series fallows the show VERY closely, almost too much. Sure he adds some of his own characters but so many disappear, heck we haven’t seen evil Nya in years ( one of the few running things ). Someone like Al134, or DTstudios actually added a LOT of their own stuff and made their own stories that had consequences and effects on the story
@@ClassicStudStudios yes and his seasons are mostly the same process villains and hero’s spilt up to get a item to stop villains villains fight the teams go to final battle someone dies series ends and he only has like 2 voice actors and most of the characters sound the same
The creator of the show confirmed that wasnt the case, and the Jay line was just a meta joke about the design changes. They look different because they grew older
Thats a lame reason to jump off imo. The design changes did not make a major impact on thr quality of the show, if not the show got BETTER after the fact
Honestly i miss the old Ninjago, for me it 'ended' in season 10 after that other than some good season it was mostly forgettable, especially dragons rising (WHY IS COLE GAY!?)
I actually disagree. I don’t think there were low quality points. That’s just my opinion though and I love crystallized please don’t hate me. Wrong I think the crystallized ending was better than season 10. Ninjago Masters of Spinjitzu (2011-2019) and Ninjago (2019-2022) are the same series from (2011-2022) and you’re wrong. The actual ending of Ninjago doesn’t suck. It’s great IDK how a happy ending to the show could be bad seeing people happy should be good not bad.
Crystalized ending with everyone being happy isn't the issue people have with it. The issue with crystallized is it assasinates a lot of characters while poorly writing others, creating continuity errors, rushing past what should be important growth moments and being poorly written several times. There's many enjoyable things in crystallized but it either needed to better utilize it's time or have more time to properly achieve all the goals that lead to the ending scenes without it feeling forced. Season 10 is also imperfect for an ending as it was only 4 episodes and due to that is also rushed but they utilized the time much better than crystallized did across 2 seasons
@@mrp8008 OK well I guess that makes sense. I didn’t think there was anything poorly written about that season. I kind of disagree with that but I can still understand about the community errors so I guess that makes sense. I guess TY for telling me.

I hate people coping by saying "Dragons Rising" is good. No, it is not. The new characters and villains are boring and lame, the old characters do not feel the same. It is as if they are completely revamped. Some will say yea 5 years passed, The fact that it happened is the problem not that whether it would happen in a 5 year time skip or not isn't. Just look at cole and zane, cole stays with 4 idiots for whatever reason and has given up on the team, doesn't even cate about kai being sucked in and the same guy who became "responsible and grieving" when wu firs disappeared in season 7 is now all cheery with his new dumpster friends, don't even mention the Wu spirit we don't even know what is happening with it. And zane gets outsmarted by the new dumb villains on multiple occasions. Yeah zane got outsmarted once or twice beforehand but it was against a ancient pirate jhinn not some edgy teenage robo girl. Also half of the important characters from the previous seasons are missin, like the realms are fucking merged but they are nowhere to be found(like cole). There is also jay, with 2 minutes of screen time. Dragons rising managed to be more boring and unlikable than the fire chapter and I accepted it that way. Ninjago should have ended at season 10 if this was the continuation. (MotM is my favourite wildbrain season and is one of my favourite seasons overall but the rest is completely unbearable.) Then they went and made crystallized and fine okay it was bad the story was inconsistent and no character development for anyone but it was better than this nonsensical circus we are watching today as dragons rising. But of course netflix had to step in to ruin another franchise.
that's entirely valid. crystalized is god awful. but take it from the "i dont care about ninjago 2023" guy: dragons rising is PEAK and you should get on that asap. Dragons rising is everything the ninjago franchise needed after dumpster fire crystalized

@@Crusty783 Yeah, id say it’s your choice if you want to separate them or not.
Ou Ninjago master of spinjitsu and Ninjago Is not ONE SHOW? im confused
its kinda sad how little attention Ninjago gets outside of its own community. especially considering how good Dragons Rising is, more people should support it. (i think thats just a problem with it not being advertised outside of lego). (also hot take: DR is already better than most of ninjago except for maybe 8/9)
Whenever a ninjago post does get out of the target audience, like 98% of the comments are about “the show fell off after _ season” or “new designs bad,
not my ninjago” and the classic “the show is still going?”
like imagine if a popular cartoon youtuber made a video on DR from someone who barley watched Original Ninjago itd be interesting to hear their thoughts & opinions about the show without having context from the OG.
The issue is that ninjago has so many random miniseries, some only available on youtube, at 240p, through books, or not at all, which makes things very confusing.
you dont need to watch those to enjoy the show
right we need the 20k subs qna
NinjaAl is back lol
IMO DR is the best part of NINJAGO
It definitely has potential to be the greatest series of ninjago
@@oni123 it already is

@@clash_ninjagoif Dragons Rising continues to be as good as it has been i think Ninjago will hit its new peak VERY soon
Actully in the main image cole is in grey saying "alive but gay"
I believe alive but gay dropped after this video but you're right that image is a gem
@@Crusty783 didn't know the ninjago fandom was that unhinged
I just like screwing with people who haven’t seen the show in a while by saying “Cole’s VA died, Wu is dead, Jay and Nya are technically married, and Kai is a single dad!”
The models upgraded in my opinion
Which will last longer. Ninjago or walking dead. Two shows that began in 2011 and are still going on today though their sequel shows
It is the same year I am born

The Ninjago Franchise is Absolutely Awesome But it does Have Some Problems I Give it a 8/10 The Original Ninjago Series is Awesome but Has Some Problems I Give it a 8/10 and Now Ninjago’s Sequel Series Dragons Rising it is Such a Super Awesome, Fantastic and Amazing Series I Love It So Much So Much Better Than The Original Series in my Opinion 10/10 for Me You Rock Ninjago😎🔥
Og is 10 dragons rising is 7
@@roaarylion5214OG cannot be a 10 when it has Rebooted, Hands of Time, Prime Empire and Crystalized imo.
I agree, with you also I knew you would give Dragons riding 10/10 as on Tannerfishies episode reviews, you always give the episodes 10/10.
@@Crusty783 Agreed Kinda With You on That Crusty🤣
@@TheRealandOnlyMrE Because The Sequel Series in my Opinion is just that Awesome and Epic🔥
Ok Crusty but what about the pilots there not anywhere and I haven’t seen them in over a decade.
Call me semi basic but the best seasons have been 4,5,8,13 and then dragons rising 1 part 1 and 2
Do you know where we can watch dragon rising in eu?
How do you yk its 5years between dr and crystalized
sora is about 15 years old as of the start of DR (confirmed in a brent miller video iirc) whereas pre-merge Arin and Sora are little kids, anywhere from about 9-11 years old. 5 years is a pretty reasonable timegap guess based on that imo.
my full timeline guess though is:
end of crystalized -> 1 year -> the merge -> 5 years -> arin and sora meet lloyd
@@Crusty783 not sure but for some reason in that scene where zane was found by kai and nya i thought it said “ its been 5 years “ in the subtitles or captions. Is that just a mandela? Like i cant read or something?
Why the vine boom when saying dragons rising
I don't get why you say that wildbrain era dropped the "marketing to new audience" pretty fast. It was not until crystalized that there are legit big dependencies on the previous show
And even then, you can get most of it by context.
because within wildbrain's first two seasons we had
-the preeminent show up
-a jay finale centering around skybound lore
-an intimate fight scene between lloyd and a harumi clone
-the entirety of the ice chapter being about recovering from the trauma of events newcomer viewers havent seen
WB era never really knew if it wanted to be a direct continuation or a new beginning and i think that really hurt it. Made a whole video on the topic if that interests you
Hey Fedce1 do you wanna read my cyberpunk ninjago fan novel lol?
for me I stopped watching at ss10 like 2-3 yrs ago. Without even watching any other seasons past 10 I hated on them even without watching. I only like 2 weeks ago binged everything and decided to fully watch everything. For me, every season was great ( i dont like ss13 that much ). ALSO CRYSTALIZED IS GOOD AM I MISSING SOMETHING?? anyways yeah
I made some videos about why I dont like Crystalized if youd like a more indepth look at my opinions on that (theres a playlist on my channel). Beyond this though hell yeah!! 11 minute Ninjago has a bunch of cool stuff going for it, and Dragons Rising is just AMAZING. Glad you got back into Ninjago! :)
I'm on the 11 season rn with my dad... I HATE LLOYD NOW!
wait you said 2 44 minute long tv specials
ik dotd is one of them but the other one, is it the island?
yeah! DOTD and The Island
@@Crusty783 And the Pilot, it was also 44 minutes, splitted in 1, 2, or 4 episodes, depending on region, broadcasters, platform, etc.
What happened to me
Pls cooper ace productions video pls
I issue with his series is…almost everything regresses. He introduces the elemental masters only to never see them again, in fact he did the SAME THING he did with Ash, Shade, and Neruo with Gravis, BoloBo, and Jacob.
A lot of his series fallows the show VERY closely, almost too much. Sure he adds some of his own characters but so many disappear, heck we haven’t seen evil Nya in years
( one of the few running things ).
Someone like Al134, or DTstudios actually added a LOT of their own stuff and made their own stories that had consequences and effects on the story
@@ClassicStudStudios yes and his seasons are mostly the same process villains and hero’s spilt up to get a item to stop villains villains fight the teams go to final battle someone dies series ends and he only has like 2 voice actors and most of the characters sound the same
@@Cookie_productions4 oh ya voice acting is also not great 😅. Tox probably had the most unique female voice, and she only appeared a few times
@@ClassicStudStudios his new dr season doesn’t follow the show that much like ronins death Kai,wyldfyre, arin nearly dieing
THEIR APPEARENCES HAVE CHANGED BECAUSE WU GOT LOST IN TIME THERFORE IT CHANGED ALOT OF STUUFF EVEN THEIR APPEARENCES
The creator of the show confirmed that wasnt the case, and the Jay line was just a meta joke about the design changes. They look different because they grew older
@@Crusty783 ok
Chrystalized was peak. The ending was meh, but the seasons and its plot itself was peak.
I would still Watch Ninjago if there was still the old Designe
Fun fact
The “new” designs have been around longer than the og designs

@hankmorrison269 I'm personally not equipped to explain and showcase the major issues in writing that crystallized has and definitely not in the limited space of a comment section, but if your interested I'm sure there's some good videos out there going over crystalized that explain the situation better than I could. If you don't see any major issues in the writing to dampen your experience then that's fine too
@@mrp8008 OK TY for telling me my friend.
@@hankmorrison269 i liked Crystalized 2!!!
also Tommy Andrason said he wanted to leave all of the characters in a happy place cause he was leaving and therefore ninjago can start anew again as everything is at peace i can see where he is coming from i did like the happy ending although the other ending the original could have been really good as well lloyd taking the place of the Crystal King and having the ninja and harumi off course try to bring him back to normal having the ninja remind lloyd of the good times and harumi admitting her wrong doings and apologizes and how she always liked him and cared for him but felt conflicted and that he is a good person and this is not him and lloyd can struggle and harumi adds on that he is strong and that he has always been strong and resilient everything she could not be but wants to try and become and how he is a real hero and then he struggles once more so harumi goes in for a hug (not a kiss cause that would cause controversy) and then the other ninjas join in and he returns to his regular self off course breaking down and apologizing for what he has done and off course having Master Wu and Garmadon die for real this time and then they all clean up the monstary or something like that what do u think? i think this is the type of ending most people probably would wanted cause the trailer made the season look like there would be consequences and endgame style so yeah and harumi and lloyd would make a deal with the commissioner that she would help with the monstary and then go to jail what do u think? therefore it is like a combination happy ending and angst what do u think?
i guess controversy on Crystallized and her portrayal in Crystalized will never die....so....sad (sorry for the overdramatic but damn people really hate crystalized!!) i feel like i'm the only one who liked Crystalized and liked harumi being redeemed but yeah like everyone i totally agree IT SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN DONE IN ONE EPISODE LET ALONG 30 SECONDS OR SOMETHING?????? it should have been through the course of the season and ep 17 Return to Prievel's eye was the perfect time to shine some light on this and have her begin that path of redemption i really really thought they were gonna do this but no...they didn't yeah i do agree she is a pretty controversial character especially her portrayal in Crystallized i mean i always thought that 50% of the fandom didn't like her and 50% of the fandom loved her that's what it looked like to me (thought the controversy of her portrayal in Crystalized would die down by now i mean it has been 2 years already!!!)
yeah i do agree Harumi is a pretty controversial character especially her portrayal in Crystallized i mean i always thought that 50% of the fandom didn't like her and 50% of the fandom loved her that's what it looked like to me (P.S, I'm one of the 50% who loves her i really hope Harumi comes back though I feel like more people would want to know what happened to her as time goes on I do believe the controversy from Crystalized will die down and therefore want her back in the show. do u think we will see harumi in future seasons?? like seasons 4 and 5 cause apparently.
(like harumi is human too she doesn't deserve sooooo much hate. yeah i do agree she is a pretty controversial character especially her portrayal in Crystallized i mean i always thought that 50% of the fandom didn't like her and 50% of the fandom loved her that's what it looked like to me (P.S, I'm one of the 50% who loves her)
I hate people coping by saying "Dragons Rising" is good.
Netflix doesn't influence the production of DR.
I haven’t watched ninjago dragon’s rising yet because crystallized ruined the show for me
that's entirely valid. crystalized is god awful. but take it from the "i dont care about ninjago 2023" guy: dragons rising is PEAK and you should get on that asap.
