I think there is one scene from Crystalized that really hits hard. After Lloyd is captured by the council of the crystal king, he’s hanging from the ceiling getting interrogated by Harumi. Harumi then tells Lloyd that a of the ninja are dead, and although Lloyd is in denial he still wants to be able to fight Harumi and despite how hopeless his situation he still wanted to fight. Then when Harumi asks Lloyd why he didn’t come looking for her after the building collapsed, Lloyd then confesses that he infact DID look for hours and it resulted to nothing. While Harumi tries to act tough in the scene they still did a good job of showing how her emotions and love for Lloyd was still getting to her head.
I think it's also worth mentioning that the soundtrack throughout the end of Rebooted: The Titanium Ninja is appropriately named "Built to Protect." It's a soundtrack that might seem calming to non-Ninjago fans, but can be devastating to those who can remember exactly where it's from.
I think a BIG thing that helps with coles fake out was not just the emotions everyone had being muted, but the music that played over the reactions I think ALOT abt Kai telling Nya to go back for Cole, but the music completely swallows up everything in the scene. It’s soo good shoutout to the song for that scene
This is a great ranking. I'd also personally add in that scene between Lloyd and Garm from Episode 11 of Season 1. The scene at the very end, when Garmadon has to accept that Lloyd is meant to defeat him, and even somewhat welcomes it because of the love he has for his son. It's a really poignant moment that shows such a side of depth to Garmadon in that era; how even despite the evil in his blood it could not overpower the raw compassion he held for his son, which is a stark contrast to the Garmadon we see later: cold, uncaring, and with no compassion or even humanity left.
i personally think the saddest scene is the lloyd and garmadon fight from season 8, the fact that lloyd has to deal with his father basically being an evil zombie, and losing the fight, is just insane.
I've been waiting for a video like this. I know everyone says zanes actual death is more sad but I think what really sells that scene home for me is the actual funeral scene.
It’s insane to me how the ending of Skybound isn’t on this list. Nya dying and Jays final wish “I wish you had taken my hand, and no one found that teapot first place” has genuinely made me cry multiple times
Skybound is one of those seasons you love it or you hate it. I do agree it was an impact full scene but I'm like it was a cop out. Like it's one of those stories like he woke up and it was a dream
@@theberry6734 that’s not what the ending of Skybound is tho. All of that stuff really did happen. It’s just that none of the ninja remember it except for Jay and Nya and since those two got to keep all their character development, I really don’t mind it
Nya's sacrifice was the only moment that actually made me cry. I remember watching it on CITV when they were spamming it every day, and then having nothing the next day (and the next year💀)
Really good ranking! I love Harumi’s character so seeing her death in #1 is awesome. I’d also personally put Harumi’s betrayal and the fight between Lloyd and possessed Garmadon somewhere in the the ranking. I just feel so bad for Lloyd in both of those scenes, the guys got a lot of trauma.
Before I get into this little short story, I just want to say here that something to know about me is that i am not a very emotional person. I’m extremely stoic when it comes to dealing with things like pain, sadness, and grief. So with that outa the way, here’s the short story… I can still remember the day back in 2021 when Nyad came out and I started watching it upstairs in my room. I’ll never forget the devastation I felt watching the scene where she sacrifices her humanity to save Jay and the world. Up till that point, I never cried when it came to Ninjago, but watching Nya mouth the words “I love you” with tears falling down her face is what broke me. I never felt so heartbroken over a piece of media before. Props to Ninjago for making me, someone who hardly ever reacts emotionally to things, literally cry! This is most definite my number one saddest scene for me personally!
All around good list, but personally nothing can ever beat Zane’s death from Rebooted. When 7 year old me saw it for the first time, I was literally in tears
Harumi's death in Hunted is nothing more than perfect ,I'm so glad she was not brought back from the dead and her character was not ruined .How crazy would that be.
I think that the s12 finale should get an honorable mention. Unigame being confused with why Milton Dyer abandoned him and wanting answers is surprisingly really close to home for a large amount of people including Jay who tries to reason with him that there is always a reason someone would do something.
8:00 What i also love about this scene is that it's kept ambiguous whether she's referring to Jay or just to all of them. But that's like the best part because there's just SO much love between Nya and Jay, Nya and Kai, the entire group overall that it doesn't even matter. Once again the german dub chose to put dialogue over this scene lmfao, no idea why
Yeah i was so angry at the german Dub. There did the same think with season 10. The great think about "I love you" is that the mouth moves in a similar way to say "Ich liebe dich"
Great list mate 👍, here is my top 5 1 Zane's dead from season 3 (for some reason it always makes me shear tear) 2 Zane's backstory (same reason as the 1st place) 3 Seabound's ending (could have been 2nd if not for Crystalized) 4 Garmadon's sacrifice (it works great) 5 Cole becomes a ghost (idk why but it makes me sad and it made me cry when i was younger)
Zane’s sacrifice against the overlord made me so sad that I didn’t want to watch the rest of the episode. When Season 4 came out and it was revealed that Zane was alive, I was so confused and happy because I didn’t know what happened at the end of the final episode of season 3.
Easily the saddest scene for me was after nyas sacrifice at the end of seabound when all those people showed up at the monetary to pay respects. Either that or obviously Zane in season 3 sacrifice
for me the saddest moment is when Lloyd was aged up in season 2 while its not super sad on paper the implications become kind of depressing once you realize he was basically cheated out of his childhood all these other moments are defiantly more tragic but I personally like how Lloyd being aged up is not inherently sad when you don't think about it.
Usualy, people praise the german dub for how good it is. Unfortualy, Ninjago is an exeption. That was not always the case. Good that dragon rising has a better german dub. The old german dub would have never allowed that the "bloodmoon" would be called "blutmond"
@arcy4100 in the german dub they always censor the deaths and say that the person got lost or smt that happened with Mystake, Delara, Zane, Nya, Cole and many more. I think there is a compilation on YT of all the moments
@nightlunastar the german dub is bad because it censors deaths and that kind of stuff. It's praised because of the va's, since those are really good and rival the english ones
Prior to Day Of The Departed being a thing Morro's death was a lot more upsetting and depressing for me. Since the whole deal of a ghost/spirit is that when somebody dies they're never truly gone but if through some way the ghost is destroyed then the person is basically deader then dead and they cease to exist. So I literally thought Morro straight up ceased to exist with no afterlife for him. Thank god Day Of The Departed came along and showed he just went to the Departed Realm
the love scene between jay and nya in s6 at the last episode deserves at least top five and the harumi and garmadon fighting lloyd scene should be bumped past 5. top five i think are nya go bye bye, morro death, garmadon death, nya death with the wish, and then easily zane's is the saddest.
I did NOT expect Egalt being sick to be on this list, but I totally agree. He is pretty much dieing a slow death that he can do nothing about, and the fact that he is aware of this makes it that much sadder. Not to mention his line, "Time runs out for everyone, even once great warriors." It's such a sad line and is easily one of my top 10 quotes from the franchise.
11:34 to me this was sad but honestly it was a fitting end to “classic” Lloyd Garmadon and the birth of the Lloyd we see in Dragons rising. As from this battle comes a Lloyd who for me finally reached his full potential as a character
Garmadon’s sacrifice was great, I think originally I would’ve said S1 Zane realisation but after watching S4 (And kind of S3) it REALLY made me like Garmadon and his sacrifice made me tear up a little bit, After all the stuff he’s been through all his life he finally got to be a normal person again but then it all went away after leaving his family that he loves on a pretty bad note, I really like Garmadon and I wish he got to just fix the problems he knew he couldn’t fix because of his age, Such a well written show I can’t believe it’s still going I thought it ended years ago and it was an obscure thing from my childhood but I’m so glad it’s the opposite of that
Seabound's finale episodes are easily the saddest part of the series to me. It genuinely surprised how much I feel like it outdid Zane's sacrifice. Yes, Zane's will always be the iconic sad Ninjago finale, but I think Seabound takes the cake overall. The emotion of specifically Nya merging with the sea is so raw, and seeing the ninja mourn in their own ways and hold the memorial is really unique. Unforgettable.
Nyas sacrifice in Seabound was so well done. Would be a shame if the season after that would undo her sacrifice one episode later, but that would just be ridiculous. Would also be a shame if they ever ruined Harumis perfect ending in Hunted but I’m sure the Ninjago writers would never be stupid enough to do that
if we're including dragons rising s2p2, i'd HAVE to include nya's fight with jay. either way, i'd say lloyd's beatdown from garmadon in s8 might just be the saddest moment in all of ninjago
Honestly, as much as I dislike how little zane matters and how littler character development hes gotten after s3. It honestly makes his death even sadder as he is literally killing oof his more "human" self to become a shadow of his former self in a way. Intentionally done by the writers or not.
Here are some other sad moments, (Off the top of my head you didn't include) Arin losing everything after the Merge, Sora being disowned by her parents, Cole turning into a ghost, Bentho's backstory, Akita's backstory. (The last three are major spoilers for DR Season 2 Part 2, so don't click read more if you don't want to be spoiled. 1. Season 2 final 2. Harumi betrayes lloyd 3. lloyd and his father get captured by the overlord in seson 3 Lloyd moments are the best. After the lloyd moments would the season 3 final come. Probably also a sad moment from season from season 7 and some with morro
It's funny how the german Dubai ruined most of these scenes Especialy the "Death" of Cole. They put some random dialog with echos and removed the music. But it gets even worse. The dialog they did put in is how Zane tells Kai that Cole completely fine and that he shouldn't worry about him. 💀
Is anyone not gonna talk about Mystake’s death that was a saddening scene for me because she spent the entire of Hunted empowering Lloyd and aiding ‘The Resistance’ and was just simply killed off-screen…
I think the Onititan destroying the bounty should be on this list. While it didn't result in any deaths it took great detail to show how utterly devastating this was for Lloyd.
14:38 did you know Harumi was supposed to have a robotic spider-like design for crystalized and i wish they went for that design instead of the one they picked
While I Wouldn’t put my Top 10 Saddest Moments in Ninjago on Here I Will Put my Top 3 Which are 1 Nya’s Memorial Season 14 SeaBound Episode 16 The Turn of the Tide 2 Nya’s Goodbye to The Ninja Team Season 14 SeaBound Episode 16 The Turn of the Tide And 3 Nya and WyldFyre’s Heart to Heart Talk About Kai Being in NetherSpace Dragons Rising Season 2 Episode 12 Enter The City of Temples
Bentho gave her a vague idea of what she was supposed to do. Nya: Bentho, how did Nyad defeat Wojira? In the story you told me. Benthomaar: She became one with the sea. Nya: But how exactly? Benthomaar: She opened herself up to the full power of the ocean. She merged with it. (Nya gazes at the sea outside.) Do not think of such things. Nyad may have defeated Wojira, but she lost herself. What she did ... could not be undone. She vanished.
Harumi was low-key right about Ninja not doing their jobs well enough all the way until skybound they where basically just chasing domino's which all could have been avoided if wu had looked after Lloyd after the ninja caught him trying to steal candy. If you're confused by all means, ask. I'd be happy to have the debate😉
Seeing Harumi dying made me so sad that I couln'd sleep well that night. Me, a 16 year old at that time, couln'd sleep because of a show made for children!
( Spoilers ) I found The Matriarch death a sad recent scene wasn’t expecting her to die also yep I have no son and Jay telling Nya he will always hate her definitely hit hard for ninjago fans 🫢
Saddest moments for me in no specific order: Garmadon's banishing himself in season 4 finale Garmadon and Lloyd reuniting and saying goodbye in the cursed realm Zane's sacrifice in season 3 Nya's death in season 6 Nya sacrificing herself in season 14 Cole's fall in season 10 Garmadon telling Lloyd he has no son during their fight and Lloyd's picture blowing away afterward Lloyd sacrificing his childhood in "Child's Play" Lloyd learning he is the green ninja and having to fight his father in the future
What about the fact that kai and nyas parents were straight up abducted while they were playing, and its never really said if someone else was looking put for them, so they were on their own for years
I don't think Harumi's intentions were ever to save or protect Ninjago, that's just a justification she deluded herself into believing, Harumi's goal is and was always revenge. It's why I think Harumi is the scariest villain in Ninjago, because she's frightenningly realistic, someone so full of hatred and venom that she didn't just want to kill Lloyd, whe wanted to destroy him, she tricked him into falling in love with her just so that she could break his heart, then she planned to take everything from Lloyd using his father to do it, lest we forget she planned to make Garmadon kill both Wu and Misako after he was ressurrected. Then she had Garmadon almost beat him to death and take his power, and finally my pick for the most emotional scene, the one where the Desting's bounty is crushed, where Harumi forces Lloyd to watch as his found family, uncle, and home are destroyed by his own father. Of course they survive, but Lloyd doesn't know that for a good while. That scene is the moment it becomes clear that there is no goodness in Harumi, she wasn't about to be redeamed, she's the most sadistic evil the Ninja ever encounter, watching as Harumi takes everything from Lloyd, and then he somehow finds the strength to get up and keep going hits so hard, Harumi finally succedes in doing to Lloyd what he did to her in her mind, but instead of letting it twist him into something as wicked as her, he pledges to keep fighting, finding the strength to do the right thing even when no one would blame you for curling into a ball or letting it destroy you is the truest heroism in the series and is the moment when Harumi truly loses, she wanted to make him feel what she did, to take revenge and to drag him down to her level to validate herself, and she failed. And then Crystalised decided she did like Lloyd, would work wity PYTHOR, and then redeamed her...
That new trailer is so so good. Crazy that they have Chaos Island and everything in there, Shadow gens is starting to look comparable in scale to straight up the Original Generations!
@@Crusty783 All we need are three more stages and its up to Sonic's amount. So Far I have counted Radical Highway (SA2), Bullet Station (Sonic Heroes), Space Colony ARK (Shadow The Hedgehog), Kingdom Valley (Sonic 06), Sunset Heights (Sonic Forces), and Chaos Island (Sonic Frontiers). For the last three stages I would predict Death Yard (Sonic Rivals), Shrouded Forest (Sonic and the Black Knight), and Asteroid Coaster (Sonic Colors)
I respect your opinion, but no Zane's sacrifice and his funeral with Kai's speech are the saddest moments of ninjago, harumi's death is really sad but zane's loss with the amazing soundtrack is much sadder and better and if we talk about the kind of death of cole in March of the oni, even the loss of jay's pudding in season 7 is sadder and about garmadon's sacrifice in season 4 it's a sad moment but it's like a lazy copy of zane's sacrifice I mean practically the same sad flashback and the same same right next season and also you made a mistake in seabound jay is nya's husband not a boyfriend
Sadly not until the season releases officially. LEGO has been super back and forth copystriking some videos using the leaked PT2 footage and then comparatively leaving others up
8:02 *Husband. This was far past March of the Oni, and yes, granted, the Yin and Yang isn’t a traditional marriage, the way it is presented and using common sense, it is very easy to infer that Jay and Nya are married.
Tommy Andreasen when asked if the Yin Yang promise is supposed to be equivalent to marriage: "It’s not marriage (Misako mentions being married to Garmadon). No more info at this point."

2. Harumi betrayes lloyd
3. lloyd and his father get captured by the overlord in seson 3
Lloyd moments are the best. After the lloyd moments would the season 3 final come. Probably also a sad moment from season from season 7 and some with morro
The fight scene between Lloyd and Garmadon in season 8 gets me emotional every time I watch it
I was 6 when I first watched Zane’s sacrifice, I was crying like I never did
Kai is getting thrown into Nether-Space should be on this list.
It's funny how the german Dubai ruined most of these scenes
Especialy the "Death" of Cole. They put some random dialog with echos and removed the music. But it gets even worse. The dialog they did put in is how Zane tells Kai that Cole completely fine and that he shouldn't worry about him.
💀
*dub
Crustyyyyy unrelated to the video but I got all 9s on my GCSEs!
LETS GO GOAT CONGRATS!!! 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
gg
I'll be getting my results next year.
Is anyone not gonna talk about Mystake’s death that was a saddening scene for me because she spent the entire of Hunted empowering Lloyd and aiding ‘The Resistance’ and was just simply killed off-screen…
i lowk cried when nya merged with the sea...
Cole becoming a ghost was heartbreaking
Writing wise : Harumi
Scene wise : Zane remebering him father and his sacrifice
I think the Onititan destroying the bounty should be on this list. While it didn't result in any deaths it took great detail to show how utterly devastating this was for Lloyd.
You should rank the top 10 happiest ninjago moments
14:38 did you know Harumi was supposed to have a robotic spider-like design for crystalized and i wish they went for that design instead of the one they picked
saddest moment is that my theory of arin being lloyds great grandma isn’t cannon 😭
The season 5 mirror maze predicted Cole’s fall and jay asking nya the question
I found the Seabound ending the most saddest.
While I Wouldn’t put my Top 10 Saddest Moments in Ninjago on Here I Will Put my Top 3 Which are
1 Nya’s Memorial Season 14 SeaBound Episode 16 The Turn of the Tide
2 Nya’s Goodbye to The Ninja Team Season 14 SeaBound Episode 16 The Turn of the Tide
And 3 Nya and WyldFyre’s Heart to Heart Talk About Kai Being in NetherSpace Dragons Rising Season 2 Episode 12 Enter The City of Temples
6:07 i totally forgot abput that moment, yes thats also a very tragic moment
When i saw the thumbnail i thought it was a review of Rebooted.
But i was wrong :3
8:34: I just have one question, how did Nya know HOW to merge with the sea? Like, she just knew on the fly, or swim in this case.
@@Crusty783 I really need to rewatch the whole series.
Always love and sad for Zane Sacrifice
Seeing Harumi dying made me so sad that I couln'd sleep well that night. Me, a 16 year old at that time, couln'd sleep because of a show made for children!
zane "dying" is by far the saddest in my opinion.
I liked Cole’s “death” but it gets ruined every time I remembered he could’ve done airjitzu or elemental dragon to fly away.
zanes dad got me bruh
Personally, I think the character assasinations some characters got are also top 10 worthy for sad
I predict complaints about Crystallized in this video
👀
It would’ve been hilarious if you said the number 1 saddest moment was Crystalized releasing 😂
The saddest scene is when Dareth mad forgotten in the merge😢😢
Garmadon’s sacrifice in Season 4 always left a greater impact on me than Nya’s from Seabound. Surprised I’ve found someone who agrees with
( Spoilers ) I found The Matriarch death a sad recent scene wasn’t expecting her to die also yep I have no son and Jay telling Nya he will always hate her definitely hit hard for ninjago fans 🫢
Saddest moments for me in no specific order:
Garmadon's banishing himself in season 4 finale
Garmadon and Lloyd reuniting and saying goodbye in the cursed realm
Zane's sacrifice in season 3
Nya's death in season 6
Nya sacrificing herself in season 14
Cole's fall in season 10
Garmadon telling Lloyd he has no son during their fight and Lloyd's picture blowing away afterward
Lloyd sacrificing his childhood in "Child's Play"
Lloyd learning he is the green ninja and having to fight his father in the future
This is a great list!
What about the fact that kai and nyas parents were straight up abducted while they were playing, and its never really said if someone else was looking put for them, so they were on their own for years
I don't know about you but I was really sad when evil Garmadon was summoned from the departed realm to wreck havic again
6:57 remember that now
We don't talk about Crystallized
real
@@Crusty783we don't talk about crystalized no no we don't talk about crystalized but
Zanes death is still heartbreaking till this day 😢
such a perfectly executed scene dude
@@Crusty783 Yeah exactly ngl this scene made me cry watching for the first time
Great rankings Crusty!
thank you! :D
@@Crusty783 You’re Welcome! =)
Did you hear that incredible new remix of Supporting Me in the Shadow Generations trailer? I heard they got an actual TH-camr to help with it.
For the last three stages I would predict Death Yard (Sonic Rivals), Shrouded Forest (Sonic and the Black Knight), and Asteroid Coaster (Sonic Colors)
is it just me or i call dr julian the tinkerer
Love the videos keep them up
ty! :D
Can you do one about Dragon Rising since Season 2 is done?
Sadly not until the season releases officially. LEGO has been super back and forth copystriking some videos using the leaked PT2 footage and then comparatively leaving others up
How could you not include kai being trapped in the nether space????
No this can't be no no noooooooooooooooo
I understand why you didn’t include anything from DR S2 Part 2, but if that was fair game, would you have included any moment from it in this video?
Excellent!🫡
Spoilers if you haven’t watched every season
Doesn’t harumi come back in crystalized so she didn’t die
BRO IF YOU THOUGHT HARUMI DEATH WAS SAD CONSIDER YOURSELF A OPP BRO
8:02 *Husband. This was far past March of the Oni, and yes, granted, the Yin and Yang isn’t a traditional marriage, the way it is presented and using common sense, it is very easy to infer that Jay and Nya are married.
Tommy Andreasen when asked if the Yin Yang promise is supposed to be equivalent to marriage:
"It’s not marriage (Misako mentions being married to Garmadon).
No more info at this point."
