Very informative, just what I was looking for. I have a 1994 toyota marino and I'm in the process of restoring/servicing it. Didn't know how these parts should be taken apart, but your video helps alot. Thank you so much! 👌
You are an AWESOME teacher. You make it so easy. I just got a 2004 Corolla that's stuck in gear and I believe that's the problem with it. What's your analysis? It's a manual transmission and whenever you take your foot off the accelerator the car shuts off.
Hey in this toyota in your video, what fluid do you use inside the slave cylinder. I am aware brake fluid but what # would you recommend for the toyotas?
Is the hole in the clutch fork rubber boot (like the one shown in this video) intended for lubrication purposes? I am working on a 2006 Avensis with a similar boot and want to spray white lithium grease on the pivot to stop creaking noises. Is it safe to do that through this hole or is it necessary to remove the rubber boot to be more precise? I’ve heard it can be very difficult to replace the rubber boot after removal. I also don’t want to risk contaminating the clutch disc linings with grease, so I’m looking for expert advice on this before doing anything.
Can you please help me!! I have a 2010 Toyota Corolla that just got a new clutch installed. Once installed I noticed the clutch pedal was weak when pressing. I tried to bleed the system at the slave cylinder but couldn’t get it to keep pressure at the slave so I replaced the master cylinder. (Thinking it had weak pressure overall) the clutch pedal would go to the floor when bleeding the slave and would get stuck down. I’d have to pull the pedal back up to get pressure back. After the master cylinder was replaced I got the same pedal to the floor experience when bleeding at the slave. When the pedal gets stuck the only way to get my pedal back with pressure was to pull it back out. I’m not sure what to do. The only other tip I can give is that when the pedal gets stuck to the floor when cracking the bleeder screw in the slave I close off the bleeder and can press in on the slave cylinder rod that is on the shift fork and as I press it down the clutch pedal pops back up. I’ve tried gravity bleeding it too and the pedal will again go to the floor. Would this be a bad slave and not master?? Or any idea?? When bleeding I had my fluid all the way full to eliminate any air. Thanks!!!
If you have trouble loosening the fittings on the hydraulic line a.k.a. Metallic Oil Hose... Don't round off all the corners of the 10mm fitting! Go to a parts store and buy a 100mm LINE WRENCH! They're designed to grab all 6 corners of a brake line fitting like a 6 point socket for instance. Most open ended wrenches will only round off the corners on a brake line. Do NOT use Vice Grips unless it's your last option!! PS. Spray the fitting with WD40 or liquid Wrench and let it soak in! Then if it won't loosen try to tighten in just enough to get it turning then switch to loosening the fitting.
@Corrado Soprano ahahaha! Well at least I got a laugh AND good information from your comment, 2 years ago. You must have been wearing a mask at the time....👍
Thank you again Peter, I'll try to check our 2002 corolla altis clutch. Ops, may I ask also do you have a video regarding cleaning of corolla's IAC valve to get better throttle or bring back it to normal? I think that's also issue if our corolla.
Are you an engineer and mechanic peter, mechanical engineer something like that has a huge will and passion in working on cars.

Peter I just have done mine but would recommend to all to use a flare wrench as the Toyota Yaris built in France (identify by Vin Number starting with VNK are so rusty and not as well built as the Japanese ones)
I used to work with a Russia guy who would refer to clutch components as if they were disc brake components lol and if you think about it the Flywheel is more or less a Brake Rotor bolted to the crankshaft and the clutch disc itself is just a series of brake pads or friction material. We always knew what he meant.
By watching your videos ,I have learnt a lot of stuff regarding my avensis car now.Thanks.
Sureshkumar V Great and Thank You for your feedback.

Thank you for the video. How do you replace the master clutch cylinder?
